    Watching your vids gave me the confidence to repair my first Switch Lite 😃 I had to do do some micro soldering to repair trace damage in order to get the digitiser to work, and took a card reader connector from a donor board and replaced a damaged one, all working 100% now. Great vids, keep it up.

      That's awesome mate. I'm glad to give people the confidence. Personally I believe repairing our own devices is something we all should learn at some point

      @@TheCod3r I totally agree, we should all be repair our stuff to some degree, we live in such a throwaway society, and we need to get better at making stuff last and recycling. Keep up the great videos, I've also repaired two PS3s and a PS4 that would have been scrap without the help and techniques you've shown. 😁

    A resistor had moved off its pad and was touching another cap or something right below the WIFI chip, you should go back and check that.

      I see it too, looks like a brown and a black one are soldered together long ways. Right on the bottom left of the WiFi chip in the video.

    You should set a fixed focus point on the above camera as it keeps focusing in/out/in/out at very small amounts but constantly

    There are two caps to the left of the cpu shield that are responsible for the wifi. Perhaps they were damaged during the previous opening. This often happens when the shield is removed.

      Exactly what happened to my switch. I was careless and knocked one of the little caps off. I lost WiFi but retained Bluetooth.
      I decided to replace the two of them and now it functions again :).

    How can it be a prior repair attempt if the heat sink sticker wasn’t ripped or had any signs of it being previously removed and replaced or restuck on as it wasn’t ripped? It looks factory

    • @TheCod3r
      @TheCod3r  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The board was covered in flux around the chip. It definitely had a reball or a reflow at some point. It looks to me like it had been reflowed inside the housing which is not a good idea

    hello, could you solve the failure? i have a console with the same fail, i tried replace wifi IC, replaced caps near CPU, measured in diode mode seems all fine, i´m not very sure if in the end of the video, you mentioned console activates by itself, because my console never goes to sleep mode, it turns on by itself ever, botton and flex ribbon works fine. thanks

    Given a blue screen of death is normally a cracked solder ball communicating between the CPU and RAM. Could this not be a cracked solder ball that deals with communication between the CPU and WIFI chip, and possibly a CPU reflow fix it?

    • @TheCod3r
      @TheCod3r  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yeah that's very possible bud. Problem is I can't reflow the SoC without authorisation from the customer so I'll be calling him today to speak to him about it :)

    • @TheCod3r
      @TheCod3r  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It could be a faulty power ribbon, which is pretty simple to replace, or it could be something to do with the light sensor which is soldered onto the board

    • @TheCod3r
      @TheCod3r  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yeah that's possible. I think maybe it has a connection issue between the cpu and WiFi ic so it allows it to read the MAC address but not find any devices. Either that or maybe it stores the last known address in the nand
