Im not here to trash on anyone but as a VERY green modeler i purchased my first kit after watching a review from another channel and it was a total disaster. Long story short i found you and wanted to thank you for your honesty as a new builder i know what im capable of and what im not is it too much to ask to be honest about a kit for new people in the hobby? People that omit or flat out sell junk kits like a car salesman do a real disservice to the hobby. So again thank you for at the very least being real. Glad you decided to make a channel of your own!
I purchased an AMI model pro street nova almost a week ago and complete shit show.. stay away from AMI models In my opinion and every single parts tree was black (pain in the ass to paint lighter colors on)
I assume that is a typo and you meant amT models, and I'll assume even further that you are talking about the "old pro" nova (with a flip nose front, kit is all molded in black). If I am correct I have to say you need to try a different AMT before completely discounting them. Reason being is that nova is a particularly garbage kit that is renowned for its horrible fitment, crappy details, the black molds, and just an overall pile of garbage. The fact you were even able to finish it with any degree of satisfaction should be considered a monumental success! there are a fair amount of garbage AMT kits but there are also some absolute gems. My suggestions are to take the old pro as a win, and apply that skill to another AMT.
Those plates were made by Revell for him. I guess we have to get our sub numbers to his level. And hope the kit manufacturers and distributors send us kits to build.
@doin stuff with things Yea, if I was ever offered to review kits, I must admit, I'd tell them up front,...I'm going to be 100% honest. Not cruel or mean, or nasty,...just honest. Nothing against Chris though, he seems like a nice guy, and I do watch his videos, mainly to see what's included in the kits.
@@joesrustshop4509 Same. I have no qualm with him, he does his thing and that's fine, I started doing my thing because of watching him and thinking, phh, I can do that...plus I got frustrated that Revell kits didn't show a pic of the tree, and here we are. Everyone has their own style, and he does pump out a LOT of builds but you can tell he is holding back, and playing to the product. Makes sense, he has a background in VO work, and IS being given free product, but I couldn't do it. The MPC Crapiece is a great example. I wouldn't be able to be positive, and basically lie about it. Imma tell you my impressions, and ye..I try not to be TOO snarky, but...phh. my money, my kit!
It's a silly play on words. The car is a Caprice, but also an MPC crappy kit (shocker) so smashed together I get crap-piece. Because jokes are always so much funnier when explained. My bad, I'm horrible like that and will often drop some random, made up word, joke or reference and be surprised when no one gets it! Lol. *taps mic...
I've never really cared one way or the other about box art, personally I'd prefer to see a picture of an actual model but I get that would 1, cost them to have it built, and 2, some kits just don't build well...but this ones box art? ALL I see is Scarface in the office takeover scene...the wallpaper...

Thank YOU for the validation of what I do, and why. This comment is truly the exact reaction I could ever hope for.

Wow hpi guys got his own licence plate?!😯
Yessir
This Silverado with a heavy duty rear would be a great model in my opinion
I've seen both dualys and crew cab versions built.
@@doinstuffwiththings i think we need more dualys to build

Ye. Problem with that is I refuse to kiss up and say the kits are good when they aren't. Nope.

Nice kit. Thanks for showing it.
Hpi guy is a Giant tool
kettles are indeed black sir...
Looks like a nice kit, but we really need a modern 4X4 pickup. Thanks for sharing.
Man that is some of the worst box art ever done, and the plate decals? All I can say is wow Lol. I won't say what I really wanna say about that.....
Ye...I too am biting my tongue here.

No one cares about box art. This isn't 1949 anymore.
And don't be jealous that Chis has his own plates. Don't suck, and maybe you'll get your own?
Not almost a century ago, and don't suck. Got it... thanks.
