    George, I agree with you, I doubt the candle stick was used on the mayflower. Like you said, it would have been a fire risk.

    That wagon was fantastic. Also found the ephemera fascinating, I hope they do make a documentary of his life, i'd watch it just because it's obscure history.

    I had to chuckle about the candlestick from the Mayflower. If everything that has been claimed to be on the Mayflower really was…it would have been a large, crowded ship!

    Great video, George! So much value in Kachina dolls but I don't think too many people know about them, at least not the average person. Thanks for sharing your knowledge!

    Good evening, George! Love the appraisal fairs! That copper shade was a really nice one. Those don't seem to show up often. That timer watch would be a super-nice item to have! Could that be considered a museum piece, if the history of it was authenticated? I like the Victorian hair jewelry/mourning pieces. They are fascinating to me. It actually took considerable skill to do some of them. That movie ephemera album was definitely fascinating. Loved that Italian vase, with the putti and snake handles. That hand wagon is definitely my kind of thing! I'd find a place for that. I'd pay $200.00 for it, in a heartbeat! Those folks brought some seriously interesting items. I'm sure you really enjoyed that, too. Thanks for including us in the appraisal fair!

    I, with my children, flew into Rheinmain air base in 1985. We were meeting up with my husband, who was in the Air Force. Some good and bad memories when I saw Rheinmain. We still had to travel by car another 2 hours to a small German base in Kerpen. Only reason we were there was for security purposes.

    Great video as always. Just sold a nearly identical stretch glass vase for the estate I'm working with. The owner had tagged it as being a German piece. No signature.

    Always enjoy your videos. This appraisal fair was one of the best yet. Just had to share that I had an amber cigar holder in a similar case I had purchased at an antique fair. Don’t believe it had a gold band. It fell from the counter and broke (think my cat was the culprit) and I didn’t keep the parts. This was in the early 70s. Sure brings back a lot of memories. Thanks for that.

    The LCT is signed the wrong way, it's signed in a clockwise direction. If real it would be counterclockwise. That's the first indication of a fake, and you also then mentioned the glass, and coloring and stretch was all wrong. Love watching your videos

    Cool old paper they should get just an insurance value.

    • @TheAntiqueNomad
      @TheAntiqueNomad  ปีที่แล้ว

      True! In that case, we would look for a similarly obscure group of photos of early movie sets that sold at a quality auction house and then figure out an insurance value from there.

    We never know what future generations will be interested in. I think the scrapbook should go to a manuscript library or museum where it can be seen by others and the family could ask for perpetual access access as a condition of sale. State archive maybe?
