- A Pleasant walk in the graveyard of St Mildred's, Whippingham on The Isle of Wight.
With graves of Servicemen of both World Wars #Lestweforet. Graves of some of Queen Victoria's servants, 1 Princess buried outside the church & 1 inside. UFFA FOX CBE Naval Architect.
At the bottom part of the graveyard, you get a beautiful view down to the River Medina & over to Northwood.

The covered entrance to the churchyard is called a Litch/Lytchgate. It is where the traditional funerals began in the Victorian era. Some have bench seats inside the porch way for the heads of the grieving family members to wait to lead the procession.

There is some amazing stones here .😮
It's a Royal burial ground. The beautiful large cross, is the resting place of Queen Victoria's granddaughter's Victoria.

Never heard of Whippington
Whippingham is a tiny village right on the edge of East Cowes. It was all part of the Osborne house estate. Thank you muchly for coming by.
Do u ever read the head stones like i do in my channel ..would love to see the dates and names on some of the head stones from there ?
This was one of my first videos Johno, so I was still experimenting. On my newer one's, I'm focusing on the information on the stones now. Plus I try to find some history on any of them.
Should you ever come to the Isle of Wight, I would with pleasure take you to it. It's my favourite one to visit. I'm trying to get inside & hopefully film inside. There are some very Royal & important resting places there.

When the weather is better, I'll be going back. As now I've learnt more things & a lot more research. This is my favourite graveyard, of all I've visited. So it will be a pleasure going back and really showing who is there.
