Also, I read that they're the second most popular group (or maybe the second most popular girl group -- good either way!) at festivals, because they really sing live and they have fun genuine ad libs that they change up a lot, and they're funny and loveable and always show up and PERFORM. So... here's the cool part... they've already paid back their agency! Our beautiful talented ladies are actually making money for real at this point, and I say Hell yeah, um oh ah yeah!
What makes me sad is that most K-pop stans don't know anything about who the veteran singers are and thus don't see why we keep on saying Mamamoo are not your average idol group, but the bridge between idols and artists. #BeLisMaMoo is about people listening to and believing in Mamamoo. Lots of groups work hard for years, sacrifice so much for their career, so ofc a lot of them deserve the same success and fame as BP. But BP also deserves every ounce of success they have.
In Korea you have 2 main publics, the KPOP PUBLIC which is most oriented to idol groups and is mainly oriented to teenager and young adults (it has his exceptions but his big demography it's on those ages), and the GENERAL PUBLIC and his big demography listen R&B, Ballads a pop music (no kpop wich have more electronic and hip hop influences). VERY RARELY you find a group who really hit both publics, and Mamamoo do that, that's why even if some songs don't chart well on music ranks, her albums sold very well, because they hit the *key demography* that's why so many brands are looking for MAMAMOO. That's why they are becoming famous even between non kpop listeners and entertaiment artist.
They should be the kpop female ambassador to represent the industry. Mamamoo are the talent in the business many are looking for. We only witness this once a lifetime. Them and little mix are superiors.
I have said this time and again, but they have the best voices in Kpop right now. No one can touch them. Their harmonizations are so smooth and seamless its it's amazing. too bad i knew them quite late.. before this i keep seeing live from other kpop groups so mostly i prefer studio over live version because it seems like they are forced to sing(if u get what i mean) . but mamamoo is different , every live performance is interesting, and u wont get tired of it, from the live itself u can see they really love singing and their aura is different, even offstage .. their studio version is good but their live is wayyy too good to be true . and im so happy that they are the group who each member have their own solo songs. mamamoo is way above being kpop idols. never seen a group with such outstanding vocals whether it be ballad, pop, r&b, jazz..name it. not to mention their ability to control the stage and own the crowd in every performance. everyone always brings their a game on the table but solar ahhh she never fails to amaze me.
Remember when they tried to lipsync ONCE and fail miserably (well not really they still slay the performance) and saying singing live is just way easier than lipsyncing? Yeah, average k-idols can’t relate.
