    Thank you, it is very helpful to see the full process. One question - how often should you change the water in the bowl?

    You can grow yucca in dirt, just let the cutting dry out for a couple days. In about a month the stump will root. Leaves take a couple more months.

    Tried this several times, all plants rot this way. What is your special thing to get this to work?

      Same. Everything I propagate this way dies.

    Why did you wax over the top of it? To keep it sealed? To prevent infection?

  • @WorldRockumentaryChannel

    Not always successful. I tried this with three six inch cuttings from the weeping yucca plant. They became spongy and rotted out. Smelled real pungent too. One was tossed in the trash, two are now in dirt. The tops I covered in wax to seal them.

    Baloney! I did it all like this, and after 3 weeks threw out everything stinking, slippery, spoiled. I had 7 chunks that I kept each separately. So no! Not 1 turned out ok.

      Same happened to me. Got given one cutting, put it in water and few days later it was rotting and smelly. Tuk it out, cut off the rotten part and let it dry out for couple of days. Put it straight into some compost and as yuccas grow like weed in Australia they like it sunny. So I put the cutting on the outside windowsill next to the pelargoniums. And lo and behold one month later there are already four lovely centimeter long shoots 🙂.

      Try with more than one in more than one pot. Rosemary was like that for me. Some cuttings take forever.

      I did not use anything but water.. take a mature branch cut it into desired size and put it into water for 3 weeks.. It will grow leaf and root.

    I snapped my yucca branch and it came off very easily without any damage. I stripped most leaves and planted it. Then few hours later I saw all videos doing a clean sharp cut rather than snapping! So I pulled my planted part and did a sharp cut at the end and replanted it... Now I'm losing sleep overthinking that maybe I should not have done that... Will it grow roots? Do roots grow from that surface anyway or from just over it? Can anyone answer this? Did I just murder my cutting?

    Are the plants hardy outdoor yuccas or tropical indoor dracaenas?

    • @gtattsUS
      @gtattsUS 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Dracaenas are not yuccas. Totally different plants. This video supposedly shows yucca but the trunks don't look like yucca to me. Yuccas will grow in dirt, roots will form in about a month.

    the sawn-off tree do you have to seal the wound with wax?

    Hey i got a root on my cutting but took longer than stated. I have no buds yet though.
    Question please...can i leave them growing in water or do i have to eventually plant them in soil ?

    • @WhatTruthDoesForUs
      @WhatTruthDoesForUs ปีที่แล้ว

      You must plant them. Just be patient with them.

    Hi. I see your video is dated July 2020 and it looks like the cuttings were left outside... is there a recommended month or season for doing this successfully? I'd like to try it now in Oct, and maybe inside? We are in the Southern part of France, rather same as Virginia's weather. thanks. kmv
