I'm Italian and, of course, very happy to see both Flavia Pennetta and Roberta Vinci in final. I think that Americans too should be happy. Serena is a great player and won lots and lots of matches. But if you win all the times, all your matches in the end it's boring for the public. It's nice when these almost unbeatable players find someone who plays the best match of the life. Literally in any other year this might have been true, but the fact that an iconic American athlete who came from such humble beginnings came so close in modern times almost makes it unforgivable to certain Americans.
