Billy and Dom, I’m new to the show. Just started watching about 5 days ago and binged every episode. I don’t know what made YT recommend your videos, but I’m so glad it did! My only problem now is that I’ve started speaking with a quite terrible Scottish accent. Not only were Merry and Pippin my favorite hobbits (probably because they’re the most light hearted, like me), but you two were my favorite part of the commentary on the extended version too. You’re both such good fun. Thank you both for bringing such joy to the world. PS. If you’ve never had a Wet Bottom Shoofly Pie then you probably should. They’re a delicious dessert here in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania (which on Billy’s hand is on the middle finger, one crease in… or there about).
Dom is 1000 percent correct all animal people grow up wanting to work in a zoo. I'm a veterinarian technician and growing up I wanted to be zoologist. -Billy your smile is contagious and your dog is absolutely adorable. Love you guys, great episode!
@@9731Tolkien I completely understand this line thinking and I understand why you're saying what your saying .. however it's my belief that many zoos are sanctuaries to animals that wouldn't otherwise survive in the wild and that's the type of program I'd love to be involved it ❤
I lived animals since a kid and the first zoo i visited traumatized me and never wanted to come anywhere close to one since. But i wanted to become a vetinarian. Most zoo are just prison for animal. Very few have reintroduction programs. Natural reserves are much better. Prison is for us, to punish someone for doing bad things. Animals never did anything and don't deserve to live their lives in cages.
Zoos or conservation centres in natural habitats or climates close to natural habitats: yes. Shitty little zoos for profit in completely different climates with no way near enough space: no.

I feel like I am constantly playing catch up with everything being posted online so I know this is an old episode but like I was surprised when I heard Dom liked snakes and other “creepy” critters. I worked at a snake farm; have 5 of my own danger noodles; and most people think I’m insane so it made my nerd heart happy LMFAO
Thich Nhat Hanh is the man! 95 years old and enjoying getting close to his continuance-day despite suffering a stroke a few years ago. He lives in his native Vietnam. A true teacher, his books and recordings have brought me so much comfort. Me and so many others! No birth. No death. A cloud does not end. Thanks for everything, Thay!
Kayla, I follow a chimp sanctuary, and most of the blog readers feel the same--no matter how crazy we get hearing people chomp, we love the videos of the chimps enjoying their food.
Well this week is an eye watering dollop of fun with Dom, Billy and Colman Mustard! I do agree, Colman Mustard and Marmite together would be a bit intense, akin to a Viggo Mortensen and Karl Urban fanfic story -- just too much strong flavor all at once! Xantham Gum by the way is a (very) commonly used food thickener and binder, made from fermented sugar. It is not considered to have any adverse health effects for us, and is actually an essential ingredient for gluten free baking! Thanks for another great episode!
I Love this podcast! It always puts a smile on my face, I love your sense of humor. It's making all my dreams come true of getting more hobbit and Dom and Billy friendship content.
The Colmans blew my mouth apart and I loved it. Tried Marmite and love that too. I adore the American accents and I’m loving your podcasts. Thanks so much!
I love animals, always. I have a hobby farm in the Nevada desert. My animals are more like my best friends. Interesting guest you had today. Excellent show! Be safe and stay warm.
I literally rewatched FotR twice yesterday because I'm making a video on it (not for this account). The first apple comes over, Dom catches it and hands it to Billy, claps Billy on the arm and walks off camera. Then a second apple comes and hits Billy in the head. He picks it up, looks up at the sky and down at the apple, Dom says "Pippin" chastisingly, and then Billy looks confused in the direction Dom walked off camera.
Ahhh! Thank you for mentioning my comment, Dominic! No worries on the name, it happens all the time, but it is pronounced "MARE-in-tahj". Cheers to you both and have a very bright, beautiful New Year! {It's my favorite holiday as well} 🙏🏻✨🔥♻️🍀
Will there ever be subtitles on the podcast? I'm Czech and sometimes I struggle with understanding spoken English and I also think there might be some deaf or hard of hearing fans who might want to watch this wonderful podcast.
Loved these, even if out of studio. Please keep it up! 👐❤. Also that sword behind Kayla looks a lot like Anduril - Flame of the West, which I also possess! ⚔
Dom, totally know what you mean about loving animals and fantasizing about working with them as an adult. I grew up in Chicago but was an outdoor kid, went to the Zoo all the time as a toddler, AND watched a lot of nature shows in Public Television. That lead to to a Bachelor of Science in Wildlife Biology, found that major when I was 12 in our science class. Then went on to get a law degree with a concentration in environmental law… thinking I wanted to be as influential for animals and conservation as Jane Goodall. BUT! I ended up back in Chicago due to a parental illness and life took a quick turn as I was soon married and having kids so I didn’t be up with my career choice. But my kids are all vegetarian, love animals as well, and I garden and bird watch and volunteer with our local bird chapter so I try and educate my kids and pursue my love of animals and nature with my gardening and outdoor activities. Nothing like the great outdoors and wild animals!
Hey, Billly, I just wanted to tell you how beautiful I think your singing is. "The Last Goodbye" is one of my favorite songs, as is "The Edge of Night". Please keep singing! (And thank you for your wonderful performances, both as my favorite hobbit and as a singer.
Dom, when you get your ears pierced you need to leave the piercing in for more than a year. Sometimes even longer without taking it out EVER. you can still flush the holes with saltwater with the earring in. Only after a year or two can you easily take it out or change it. And when you do need to put it back in, don’t stretch your earlobe. Just use the earring to find the hole and then push backward, letting the earlobe hang without any support.
Thanks for posting this. My 6 year old is begging to have her ears pierced. So knowing this aftercare is super helpful since I can't remember (been too long)
My 9 year old got her ears pierced a couple of months ago. We were given a solution to clean them and told we could change them after 6 weeks. She has been very lucky, no crusting, no redness no pain at all. She changed them at the 4 week mark because she wanted to wear some Xmas themed ones 😂 she wore those ones with no issues and I changed them for her very easily. I think people heal differently, we are the lucky ones 😁 I'd say follow the advice of the piercer and adjust to your own body
Based on your Eat the World segment, I ordered some Colman's Mustard! I'm really looking forward to getting it. I love all the varieties of mustard I've tried, so Colman's will be a welcome addition.
We get the powdered Coleman's Mustard here in Sweden, I throw a few teaspoons worth into casseroles etc as i'm cooking them. Love the podcast, keep up the good work.
PLEASE PUT A LINK TO THE SPOTIFY PLAYLIST IN THE DISCRIPTION WITH ALL THE OTHER LINKS! I want to get on there but have had no luck sorting out the real one from the fakes. Thanks! :)
To any American that wants to try Colman's mustard: it's delicious, and there's a good chance you can buy it at your local supermarket as long as it's a decent chain, but you aren't likely to find it in the aisle that has the other mustards. You're more likely to find it in your foreign foods section and the powder will likely be in with the spices.
I love, love, love, love, love the program, and I appreciate yall doing the ads on your own rather than embedding them, but the number of ad spots per episode is getting a little high.
You need to try German mustard - best Bautzner Senf, mittelscharf (mid strength). Since I moved to Scotland that's the number one thing I kiss most, as the English mustard is ... well, as you described it. Straight to the nose 🤣🤣🤣 Try a Bechamel sauce with mustard, dill and boiled eggs, with some cooked tatties - awesome stuff! I have a wee note on turmeric - be careful with it, some people with Crohn's disease react badly to it. Love the show to bits, and Billy, do you miss Tunnocks?
Surprised to see Colman’s Mustard on the podcast! I love that stuff and have always felt it was underrated. I prefer the powder myself, and often use it on Chinese cuisine.
Can someone link to their Spotify funky playlist because I don't know if it's just me but there's nothing telling any of them apart from the several copycat playlists and I want to make sure I follow on the official Friendship Onion channel :) tyia
Loved the show as always! I was wondering, since you both play League of Legends, have either of you seen any of the series Arcane on Netflix? It is an animated adaptation of the lore surrounding League of Legends. I think it was fantastic, so I would love to hear what you both think. Season 1 is on Netflix and season 2 is in the works. You both have made me smile, laugh, and cry since the first Lord of the Rings. If you ever want to play a match of League of Legends on Summoner’s Rift sometime I would be thrilled. I love gaming so I would be more than happy to go a round. Thanks for all you do.
A fantastic episode as always. For next weeks podcast why don’t you two eat Hellman’s and Heinz mayonnaise and compare the two. That would be a fun Eat The World
Dom! I think you should try a bigger earring. The only time I have trouble is when I’m putting in a tiny earring - because I barely have anything to hold onto. So it’s slipping out of my fingers and I can’t find the hole then. Good luck!! Don’t hurt yourself…
You guys should do a comparison with Dijon Mustard! The most common popular brand is Maille, we find it quite easily in the UK. I don’t know about the US but pretty sure you’d find it without any issues in LA.
Do you know who would be fun for you guys to have on? The Ravenmaster from the Tower of London. Ravens are often misunderstood and are very intelligent. They are as smart as primates.

mustard isn’t the only thing that took 250 years to get up to the north east, try taking a train up to my place 😗✌🏼
Instead of the cinammon challenge, let's make the mustard challenge

I would love time stamps to rewatch parts of episodes. Can anyone get on that?

Here's one for the "Eat the World", surströmming. Just don't open the can indoors. 😨
