Knocking out bearing at 12:30 we always used suitably sized nut initially held with screwdriver then drifted shaft (brass drift) this was how we all did it ,when I worked at main dealer in 70's . We could have these box's rebuilt really quick (on bonus ) used windy gun on pinion nut , it normally came off without locking box (same socket as flywheel bolt ) reckon if all went well 10 min to replace 1st 2nd synchro hub Great video though , your taking bit more care than we did , but then time was money for us in 70's
Hmm.. not really 30 minutes then:) I have just finished rebuilding my Mini gearbox and it ended up taking a couple of weeks. I probably spent half a day just cleaning up the casing. Quite a lot time was lost waiting for parts to arrive because the Mini Spares rebuild kit doesn't contain everything you might need and since they don't list the contents you only find out what is missing when it arrives. Good video though and a useful resource for anyone attempting this activity.
Mark made comment that it was popping out of 2nd, did you fit a new shift fork or nip the old one up. Any of the gears worn on where the baulk ring sits.
Nice how to mate .. don't think I would have the patience .. gearboxes are like looking into a Pandora's box.. Matt didn't get to use his fire 😢.. did I hear the mention of a turbo 🤔
Cheers buddy yes they are a complicated thing of you haven’t done one before I was fascinated watching this be done. Always mention of turbos with Matt about 🤣
Loving this longer video, very informative on the inner workings of the gearbox. Happy to see Matt having his favourite tool with him too
Hey glad you have enjoyed this one. It’s been going bringing some mechanical stuff to the channel. 👍
I do like watching a specialist doing what they do, its always a huge learning curve. That should last for years now.
Glad you have enjoyed this one 👍
For those like me who have not got a clue what is happening here. It always amazes me how lads like these know their stuff.
Great video showing how it’s done. 👍
Glad you enjoyed it buddy 👍

Glad you enjoyed it. 👍
You made it look easy, excellent video. Though it looked like there was a few minutes jumped near the end.
That'll be running sweet as 😊. It's amazing how small everything is 😊.
I am sure it will do a good job. Keep watching we will follow this one along for when it’s done and up and running again.
Top job lad's
