Steve: You were talking about how you don't buy WD-40 in the gallon cans because you needed to have the little tube on the spray head. I agree with you 100% on the value of that simple little piece. I have found though that with a small hole enlargement and some super glue on just the outside of the tube to hold and seal it you can adapt the tube to the pump handle of the gallon can. I have used this same trick on paint spray cans to get the paint out of the can and into a bottle for use in my air brush. It's all of about a 10 minute job to do the conversion. Try it next time you have an hour to kill waiting for the "form-a-gasket to set up.
I was thinking it was time for the hoist. Since Don has come out of hibernation, does that mean we only have three weeks of winter left? Just kidding around.
@@dmadere1 Yeah when it first comes I hate it but then once I get my snowmobiles out it's not too bad. Been cutting and collecting firewood, out the back of the farm for a week now. Good to get out and get some exercise.
Interested to see if the table has much twist / slackness in the Y axis. The early Beaver mills that had an offset between the narrow guide and screw used to be notorious for this.
5 in one tool... must be sharpened on a diamond file or hone so you have a perfectly flat edge.. and a single stroke on the flat side to remove the burr from sharpening the tapered face.. i made a mistake and put some used motor oil on my 180 grit 10" file.. darn thing was like a scalpel . if you nick the edge.. resharpen it..
i.imgur.com/j25DAFP.jpg. 5 way scraper edge prep before scraping anything with it.. when i have mine properly diamond filed.. i can scrape head gaskets off aluminum heads without digging in and destroying the aluminum finish. but then there are things i would not use a 5 way scraper on.. i.imgur.com/7DhICTA.jpg. actually i did use it on several machined engine and clutch bell housing areas on that.. so if you think i don't work on complex stuff. but then you can always reach for a BFH. i.imgur.com/FiPWx2o.jpg. that is a 4x6 not a 2x4 next to it.. 2 decades ago a body guy a shop was trying to straighten a bracket with the shops 7 pound sledge. i was heading off on a parts run as he was swinging away.. a few minutes later i returned and he was still swinging . i yelled do you need a bigger hammer. he nodded.. i pulled this out of my car trunk. 2 swings was all it took. i set the maul against the side of my tool box.. the body guy stood there panting.. looking at my maul with lust in his eyes.. i figured he was going to run off with my maul.. head to vegas and get married to it. you should have seen the look on his face when i picked it up.. walked it back to my car and locked it back in the trunk.. it was like i had just stolen the most beautiful woman he had ever seen..
@@10swatkins Steve, I greatly enjoyed the show today and look forward to more. I bought a Cincinnati Toolmaster 1A a few years ago, but have not begun testing it yet. It appears in great condition and was under power before my purchase. My question to use does your machine have a large circuit board in the base? Mine does, nut I am not sure what it is for. The few manuals that I have acquired do not mention it. Any ideas about it's purpose would be appreciated. Thanks and good luck with your machine.

If the need presents itself again I try it! Thanks for the tip...

I definitely hate winter!!!

Nice mill , certainly beat a b'port. seems to be in pretty good shape all things considered.
Thanks 👍

We will see.... Almost time to take the vice off and clean that up....
we all need more horizontal surfaces lol
I'll take a dozen please :)
Just a head problem is what most of us have! Lol
Hey, speak for yourself! :)
The handle was wired that way because Juan thought it was broken, so he fixed it...
that's usually the case...
Well you did get a nice heavy milling vice with the Toolmaster, too bad its got some problems.

You shoulld ask Don to be in charge of organizing your shop. That way you could focus on the restotation of your machines.
Hummmnnnnn. NO !

Pulley bushings are loose
No bushings on this one.... the main problem is the motor shaft was not attached to the pulley at all... It was sliding up and down on the pulley.
Why is it blue
How long is a piece of string? Another unanswerable question.... BUT I suspect the person that did it was mad!

Duh-because that’s the color they painted it.

Brian needs to come down here and work on it then ;)
