Hi Nick, very nice third 77/97 video. If I may be so bold. On my 2 77’s and 2 97’s on the compression chamber I found a burred edge on the punched hole where the cocking lever attaches to the part. The burr is folded to the inside of the punched holes front edge and on each gun the piston seal encounters the burr and caused a slight tear in the surface of the seal. I only lost one seal before learning to take a small tri-angle file to the burr to remove it. By doing that the piston seal by-passes the hole without catching on the punched hole at all. Just a little thing but I can’t imagine a small tear in the piston seal would be beneficial. Thank you for this very helpful HW 77/97 three part series. Now I am sure there are plenty of us spring gun shooters that are hopeful you will produce the same sort of thing for the AIR ARMS TX and PROSPORT spring airguns. With your very long history with spring gun service and tuning any little tidbit you can reveal to those of us that want to get the most out of our spring guns would be most welcome. Thank you, much appreciated.
Hal, I always forget something! Though not as bad as the holes,in the 99/50/95/98, it is worth deburring the compression tube. I don’t currently have an Air Arms, but I think I know where I can borrow one👍
Thank you so much , I followed your instructions to degrease my new hw97 , i used decent molly for now and adjusted the trigger and wow what a gun ,I'm so happy ,I will be definitely getting a maxi pro tbt kit in the new year , love your vids thanks again.
Thankyou very very for the excellent tutorials. Im still getting used to my new HW97 so not fitting a kit just yet. I also recently scored a pre-owned HW98 so once I have used that a bit I will be looking at a kit. Good work !
Hi Nick ! I have a HW80 which I bought way back in the 80’s! When I tried to cock was a helliva job ! Striped it down and found huge spring inside! This was long before chrono s were affordable so it was telephone directories that gave you an idea of the power of a gun! I had a bsa meteor which sent a pellet about half way through the directory! This 80 sent the pellet straight through the directory and left a dent on a steel back plate ! I made a home made spring compressor out of pieces of oak I had and parts of screw clamps and eventually got the spring out! I got a sub 12 ft/ lb spring and fitted it ! I eventually got a chrono and found it was still otl so cut a few coils of the new spring and got it down to about 11.5 ft/lb ! It was the long barrel version and I felt the lock time was too long and affected the accuracy so I got your short stroke kit and it did make a noticeable difference to accuracy! I never used any grease that came from petroleum bases just the grease you recommended! After I got a pcp the old 80 was left in the gun cabinet for maybe nearly a year, Then one day I took it down to the range for a few shots ! There was some smoke from 2/3 shots then a almighty bang with a flame shot out of the barrels! I nearly had an accident in my pants ! Some oil must have got into the cylinder with it lying for so long! Stripping it again i found damage to the cylinder with a split along the scope rail! Trying to get a new cylinder was expensive as you have to get the trigger block as well! Over £200 so it’s still in bits! I was thinking of getting spot welding along the rail but it’s a tricky job! Would you be able to do something with it or maybe time for scrapping it! ?? Fraser 😅
Hi Nick. Nice series of videos , great viewing and good work. I'm curious about the 97' shortened muzzle. I've been wanting to do mine for a while, but not sure on the underlever arrangement. Did you shorten it, or did you send it away to be cut down? Cheers , Atb Wayne.
For me it’s if accuracy/consistency drops, if the gun goes out in heavy rain, or once a year. I should do a video on that, and troubleshooting. Hmmm…….🤨
@@simonfitzhugh2044Paul Watt in the USA recommended a pretty short interval like 7000 pellets. But if the spring hasn’t failed and the seal is still sealing and it’s not deiselling then why disturb it? The linkages might need lubing but insides should be good for a very large number of shots. Time might be a better measure as greases might get thick after a while. So maybe once ever 18 months?
It would be nice if You could put in the video description some of the items, what they are called(wher to get them also if possible, motorcycle chain lubricant, what lubricant exactly, ther are extremely many veriations on the market) in the videos like the Sash Clamp, I have never heard of this thing befor and was only lucky by correct writing it down in a search engine to find out what this thing is. 🤗😂
Weihrauch trigger blocks are not always that easy to line up with the compression tube. Sometimes you have to belt them hard using a big lump of brass slotted in where the trigger block goes. Weihrauchs like most other makes are not perfect and I've had 7 of them.
I’m going to get brass hammer as part of my airgun maintenance kit. De-pinging the cocking lever is a special sauce tip as well. Excellent videos.

Nick, much thanks to you for these series of videos you're putting out. Very informative and helpful.
Love these videos
Thank you
Brilliant!! Nick thankyou 😊
Brilliant videos 👍
Yeah, you have the best tutorial videos 😊
Another great video

Send me pics, I have never heard of that before!😳
Siempre útiles tus videas
Merci👍

Nice video, will be very useful if I ever get my dream version of the 77k or 97k version.
Fingers crossed!
@@tbtairrifletuning1520 Thank You Very Much 🤗 🖖

I shortened it on the lathe. Bear in mind I only did this as the whole gun needed reblueing anyway
What do you recommend for a re lube interval ? I put about 3000/ year 😊

@tbtairrifletuning1520 thanks, to be honest I'm always tinkering with mine so really the question should be how long do you leave alone 😆

Waschy ! Sash clamp used for repairing sash windows ! Tools used by joiners or windows technician! DIY store’s stock them ! Fraser🛠

Hello
What length of a Sash Clamp would be most useful for work with air rifles and pistols, is ther a version that's better suited for the tasks?
That will be another video I think!😁
don’t go into the transfer porting options , please !
🤔
Don’t worry, I won’t! They are simply not needed in most cases unless you mess with the piston weight.👍
