UPDATE: As of the Whispers in the Wall update, the status spread has been CAPPED AT 100 per activation. While I have yet to test the extent of this, it's a significant nerf to this mod's power and will demand further action from yourself (eg abilities) to make up for it. FURTHER UPDATE: Nautilus has also been fixed to no longer drag crowd control immune enemies (eg Eximus with overguard).
Noooooooo, i was wondering why the mod wasn't working as shown. I was using it with Diriga and bought the nautilus just to see if im maybe doing something wrong. it is unfortunate that i couldnt test it before they nerfed it :/
Pretty much as useless as it used to be now. They did all this trouble to rework companions but anytime something is found so that companions aren't just your vacuum slaves they take a baseball bat to it. At this point just get rid of companions and put an innate, vacuum, loot and enemy radar on the players. God knows how many tens of thousands of man hours were spent on the rework when they could have just saved us all the time and gotten rid of them. Much better than killing any semiviable builds. You only MELEED enemies amd this build was able to do no more than a quarter of your kills, if you played normally then it would be lucky to reach 10% and its pretty much worthless in group content. It was only viable in a solo endless mission. But DE cant have anyone not spazzing on their keyboards for 20 mind numbing minutes, so they need to neuter that
@@StevenTLawson i think the reason it was caped at 100 stacks is actually more so it dosent crash the game, also build still does work and as far as any fodder enimies it does alright and starchart it will take on just fine so its still good for say fissures or alerts or nightmare missions, or farming, or a whole list of things just not steel path. now i do wish other companion weapons could do meaningful damage especially the beasts.

This is just scratching the surface of contagious bond. Using this with a mag, using magnetise and a deconstructor for free armour strip through vicious bond, I've seen over 133,000 electric stacks, and over 17k slash, or 56k heat. It's incredible applying those in a single tick.
Fun fact contrary to popular belief. DE does do significant math and testing on builds/weapons. So they know what new meta weapons you will use. All those "quick" hotfix nerfs bc "damage was not intended" are partially left as easter eggs for the numbers people. (how many Eidolon runs were done with sentinels you think) They only really patch the ones that leak. These companion mods are certainly powerful. There are a lot more of these around warframe. If you are a player that does mostly builds they see online. Take it as inspiratin to find your own hidden gem like this. There are many to be found. Also why I am still playing warframe since 2013
When the mods first came out, I experienced this when a friend used it with an old, (cosmetically) bugged companion. They’re on Xbox and I’m on PC, we both had the stutter- I reported the bug awhile back, hopefully it’s been fixed / will be soon :)
I use Duplex bond all the time, it's not an issue with the game, sorry to break it to you. I'm on PS5, friend is on PS4, another is on PC. None of us have had that issue.
Worth noting that procs spread by the mecha set count as companion damage for the purposes of contagious bond. It more-or-less extends the mecha radius by 9m, and well timed activations can pop mecha again.
Vicious Bond and Volt's 4 also seem to have the potential to break the game in a not so fun way. The slow spread out of damage seems to cause the armour strip to hop about and cause the game to slow to a crawl.
If you swapped the heat on the Verglass for electricity, would it combine with the heat from Fired Up to form radiation or would they remain as heat and electricity?
I have a friend whose Operator does damage cap multiple times per second in a cone in front of them, they've discovered a few bond mods that crash the game through sheer overclock. This crashes them and whoever *does* it. However there is a bond that also puts the Operator's damage onto the sentinel and multipliers it, that particular combination crashes everyone's game, not just theirs, so the whole squad need to restart. It's unfortunate.
The Bond mods all have entire setups possible around them, and have countless synergies. Even adapting existing builds by leaning into the bond mods at all almost always overclocks the game after a few minutes of gameplay, with the aforementioned Operator synergy being the fastest way of crashing and the only one that crashes everyone instantly. Hopefully there will be a workaround other than nerfing the Bonds into uselessness.
Sentinels can use galvanized mods but the warframe has to start it off with a kill. Also, if you want to use heat inheritance, set up a K Nukor with heat progenitor and Cascadia Flare. Use the sidearm to apply the first heat stack so the Verglas can maintain the heat value as it shoots. That should take care of eximus targets rather well.
Crashing/Freezing I've suspected this might be the cause of my frequent PS4 crashes lately. Contagious Bond Sentinel with a Saryn main..... Hope DE works out a fix maybe they need to put some kind of cap on the number of status effect transfers its probably hitting some kind of Infinite Recursion Glitch
While capping the status spread to 100 is still pretty good, I wish they handled it a tad differently. Sickening Pulse for example avoids having to deal with too many bleed, toxic, and heat procs by only applying a single proc with the combined damage of the procs its cloning. Though I'm not sure if it is actually the number of procs that was causing the issue or if Sickening Pulse would cause the same issue if one were to stack it up that high.
I havent tried this yet (and I will probably never do) but Im pretty sure you can run a semi-AFK build by using Speedva and Magus Repair. Cast 4, go into Operator mode, chill.
Considering the crash, maybe DE could make it so that when the mod reaches a certain level of cascade, it just triggers a "nuke" effect where all enemy within 50m vaporizes, with special effect and sounds. Instead of just nerfing it of course.
This brings back the pre nerf grendel. Where 60+ enemies in gut on spit out, could crash other peoples game and for sure drop fps. 100+ will guarantee crash your own game, and 40 enemie cap was the fps drop aspect for some. Then the nerf nation attacked.
It's a strange age we live in. If you told me, even a year ago, that sentinels would be capable of room nukes, I'd laugh at you. Looks like Verglas gets the last laugh.
Couldn't this setup be slightly simplified with a subsumed Fire Blast? Heat priming, CC, and the armor strip makes it easier for the sentinel to get the kills quickly and spread the damage faster. Also, I'm pretty sure that by replacing Momentous Bond with another recovery Bond mod would greatly reduce the lag. All in all, this kind of feels like an overkill that could be safely tuned down in exchange for better utility in non-sweaty Lv9999 contexts.
BE WARNED TENNO If people start overusing this the companions may be hit with nerfs due to this being very close to afking the game. Otherwise than that, love the vids and the way you break down everything so concisely!
It's worth noting that the Blazing Pillage augment would have a lower Heat % than your sentinel's, which might mean a decrease in damage over time in some very niche cases.
I used Hydroid with Kengineer's sentinel+weapon set up. This was Lua Circulus SP. I'd splash Hydroid's 1 a bit to weaken the enemies. I could quite easily control and break the chain by splashing more 1, then wait for it to ramp up again. I'm not 100% sure, but I'd expect full armor strip would break proc combo easier, than removing some armor. The thing is, you don't need to remove armor at all - this was very apparent in my 40 min run, unsure about higher levels.
electric procs + gyre = op. u only need like 11procs to deal orange and 21 to deal reds due to her passive. so a diriga/tazicor build arc coil and electric from weapon to mass proc electric on everything

4:42 - Finally someone said it, I've been cringing every time I see someone advocate for using unranked 6060 mods on viral heat primaries ever since knightmareframe's phantasma video as I ran similar calculations just a couple days before it's release. Thank you.
Hi man, great content, I have a question for you: Is there a way to prime enemies in a consistent way with Helios? The reason is tha I want to use the gladiator set on sevagoth's shadow (and Helios is the only one that can equip them) while still priming enemies with manifold bond or something alike, hope you get to read this comment, thanks!
FYI: Thermal Transfer let's you use BOTH elemental buffs at the same time. Tap for one, then hold for the other. And with heat/viral they will both get sucked into their proper place and not screw up the elemental mix. Also: I thought the Helstrom was the undisputed king of status nonsense?
I guess the crash could be most easilly fixed by introducing a cap to the stacks per status effect one can get onto single enemy to some sane value.....
KNEW IT! my game drops fps left and right while using that ,nautilus with wisp or vauban, thought my pc was getting old (which kinda) but everything else was normal never got a crash rather bunch of frozen
I would to ask your opinion if I should keep the same build on the Verglas for corpus or do you have a different status build you would use on it, thank you!
I literally came back to the video to comment this: wouldn’t expedite suffering be a good subsume then? I mean with a little skill and work you could kill the enemies (or atleast force the procs to disappear) as damage which shouldn’t spread it, so long as it counts as your kill, right? I mean if it’s only spreading to 1-2 enemies the proc count stays the same. And you’re not really gonna be using your warframe for anything other than eating bullets so no issue subsume. I’m guessing a zephyr with subsumed 1 would be best to keep 3 panic button and 2 + 4 as grouping
Wouldn't Diriga be better for this setup, with its ability to zap enemies in a 15m radius, which would then apply electricity along with the other elements?
i may try this with my 10 statuses cedo-mirage and hound, (BTW mirages eclipse seems to be always 100% light damage buff on your companion no matter what) t still has separate weapon (albiet way worse but with better mods) but can use precepts to attack rapidly (manifold bond) and armorstrip
saying it now expect this to get nerfed because it "trivializes the game" even though the game is already overly easy as is but of course DE doesn't care about this fact so yeah be prepared for the nerf
Don't sentinels pick up wisp motes? That could be real silly to add into the mix. Plus then casting breach surge right before a big pull in would *definitely* crash the game xD
I find nautilus sometimes just stops deciding to fire for no reason. After the first time of it using cordon and firing, it no longer continues to fire for me every single time. I think my nautilus is a bit dumb.
In mission, you may be triggering anti-afk measures by not moving. In simulacrum, sentinels only fire on alerted enemies. If the enemies are paused, they spawn soft alerted and shortly change to unalert in less than a minute. This makes those enemies no longer a standard valid target for companions.
UPDATE: As of the Whispers in the Wall update, the status spread has been CAPPED AT 100 per activation. While I have yet to test the extent of this, it's a significant nerf to this mod's power and will demand further action from yourself (eg abilities) to make up for it.

Has anyone else noticed that the finger has disappeared from the reliquary drive in Railjack?
is in the Zariman now
That was a beautiful video.. .. This is brain power!!
electric procs + gyre = op.
u only need like 11procs to deal orange and 21 to deal reds due to her passive.
so a diriga/tazicor build arc coil and electric from weapon to mass proc electric on everything
we did it! we found the skill solution!
Gyre was nerfed because her lightning bolts was crashing peoples games. It's only inevitable that this will be nerfed too.
While doing Kuva Siphons I just place Rhino in an apropriate location, pop into operator mode and Nautilus continues defending while i take care of the Kuva clouds. Easy-peezy. 👍👍
Who would win:
Decaying super racists that have a demented bond between one another and want anything that isn’t them dead
Or
A floating vacuum that effectively sneezes out the elemental equivalent of rainbow tv static
4:42 - Finally someone said it, I've been cringing every time I see someone advocate for using unranked 6060 mods on viral heat primaries ever since knightmareframe's phantasma video as I ran similar calculations just a couple days before it's release. Thank you.
the bright mind at DE making Contagious Spread decree into a companion mod xdd
Hi man, great content, I have a question for you: Is there a way to prime enemies in a consistent way with Helios? The reason is tha I want to use the gladiator set on sevagoth's shadow (and Helios is the only one that can equip them) while still priming enemies with manifold bond or something alike, hope you get to read this comment, thanks!
You know it’s good when WARFRAME crashes
Now we are the companion
"TEN THOUSAND HEAT PROCS"
Posted a garuda crash with this earlier on reddit, really wish it worked, rn its so broken its not even nerfable because you cant use it
add nourish on rhino, it will buff your sentinel also with vital, so u can remove vital from verglas and use corrosive/heat version =)
thought the same thing but base cold prevents corrosive heat
FYI: Thermal Transfer let's you use BOTH elemental buffs at the same time.
Tap for one, then hold for the other.
And with heat/viral they will both get sucked into their proper place and not screw up the elemental mix.
Also: I thought the Helstrom was the undisputed king of status nonsense?
"Let's cause a practical problem" would be funny
He has said it once in some trolling weapon
This intro makes me feel like I wanna crip walk so bad
I guess the crash could be most easilly fixed by introducing a cap to the stacks per status effect one can get onto single enemy to some sane value.....
at least, 5000 stacks of heat, is already enough to kill most enemies, but is a very good hard cap
KNEW IT! my game drops fps left and right while using that ,nautilus with wisp or vauban, thought my pc was getting old (which kinda) but everything else was normal
never got a crash rather bunch of frozen
This… this is not a practical problem. But I am delighted by it
It is... He's creating a Practical Problem instead of Solving one 🙃
Well, DE was not lying when they said they will make companions stronger.... :D
So companions were upgraded from wet paper to literal Ebola?
I would to ask your opinion if I should keep the same build on the Verglas for corpus or do you have a different status build you would use on it, thank you!
That is a wild synergy!
SO, after years of asking for a "status proliferation" mod it get's introduced after i quit?
I literally came back to the video to comment this: wouldn’t expedite suffering be a good subsume then? I mean with a little skill and work you could kill the enemies (or atleast force the procs to disappear) as damage which shouldn’t spread it, so long as it counts as your kill, right? I mean if it’s only spreading to 1-2 enemies the proc count stays the same. And you’re not really gonna be using your warframe for anything other than eating bullets so no issue subsume. I’m guessing a zephyr with subsumed 1 would be best to keep 3 panic button and 2 + 4 as grouping
Finally a good loadout to bring a sniper rifle to.
So what you saying is the the railjack setinal is even more broken out side of it environment thats was ment for l
I love this kind of shenanigans
Companion 2.0 is gonna crank this up to 11 I bet
You realize you're essentially just playing Plague inc. now right? Warframe truly is a game of all time.
Fun fact with nothing to do with this mod: found out that the proboscis cernos gas build can crash the Nintendo switch
Wouldn't Diriga be better for this setup, with its ability to zap enemies in a 15m radius, which would then apply electricity along with the other elements?
Just found out you can also freeze your game using kullervo's 3 + tenet cycron + hound with manifold bond
so... would expedite suffering help prevent crashes?
would love to more updates on contagious
i may try this with my 10 statuses cedo-mirage and hound, (BTW mirages eclipse seems to be always 100% light damage buff on your companion no matter what)
t still has separate weapon (albiet way worse but with better mods) but can use precepts to attack rapidly (manifold bond) and armorstrip
Can you tell me the mod set up it sounds sick
I might try this mod with my hound.
would the moas whiplash mine also be sufficient for this type of build?
You could use diriga for its unique mods
Ah yes the perfect build for my mag setup
saying it now expect this to get nerfed because it "trivializes the game" even though the game is already overly easy as is but of course DE doesn't care about this fact so yeah be prepared for the nerf
Can you make a video on damage amplifier abilities? i feel we never bother to use them , like arcane shiver.
Do you think this would work for playing as nekros?
Let’s solve a practical problem in such an impractical way that it creates another practical problem.
I'd like to sarcastically thank you and other warframe youtubers for all this awesome stuffs future nerf.
Heminth Sickening pulse in the build maybe?
i wonder if this setup works with sickening pulse
Does contingent bond still spread even if the player kills it?
First 5 seconds of using this build my game crashed, 5 stars worked as intended.
Now everybody can be a Xaku
Does duplex bond make this better or worse?
here it is
