He's amazing in reading audio books - I've listened to Dresden Files the second time because of him. Most people who read books are kind of dull and read everything in the same rhythm, whereas he acts his ass off. And he likes it apparently since it allows him to show off his range

Spike´s popularity was the best thing that ever happened to Buffy´s story arc, gave the story and the characters so much depth. I was so grateful for Spike, he´s still my favorite character, he represented redemption and taught us about the complexity of the human experience. Buffy was probably the first TV show that blurred the lines between heroes and antagonists, he was the Jamie Lannister of the early '00s and as a troubled teen in the process to be a troubled young adult I was thankful for that, I needed that.
Thank you, James, for giving life to such a multilayered, self-destructive, charismatic, and unforgettable character

James and I were best friends back in the 80s. We met as waiters at a place called Monday's in the Intercontinental Hotel on Michigan Avenue. He was making a name for himself in theater in Chicago and living in Rogers Park. One of the most genuine, authentic, and awesome people I had the pleasure to know. I watched his apartment on Greenland Avenue when he got married and checked in on his brother, Paul, while James was in Cali.

James Marsters is a gem period. He is the definition of awesomeness. I had no idea he was American when I was watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer during the 90's. He masked his american accent so well and was just convincing as a Brit. Anthony Head his dialect coach did an amazing job training Masters. His Irish accent when he guest starred in Hawaii Five-O portraying Victor Hess was perfection as well. When he played Braniac in Smallville you felt he was a living computer and his Lex Luthor from Superman: Doomsday was badass.

In 43:41, James Marsters mentioned that he's terrified of Joss Whedon. Joss didn't like that Spike became popular. Then one day, he backed James up against to the wall and screamed at him (for like, why is he being popular in the show). LIKE WHAT THE HELL? I stand by Charisma Carpenter and Ray Fisher's revelation. Joss may be genius or whatever, that doesn't excuse his unpleasant behavior.

@@joshuareynolds23 I don't like Xander much either(except maybe for Nicholas Brendan's comedic timing), not as a character. He is such an aggressive "nice guy", completely unable to take accountability for anything, and ignoring and belittling anything or anyone that showed him the mirror. The only times I did like him was when he hated on Angel, because however misguided his intentions behind it, it was the most sensible reaction to the creepy vampire that everyone should have had.

I know a way James could come back as Spike. The Shanshu prophecy said that after the great battle a vampire with a soul would get to be human. Angel signed away his claim to the prophecy, and it was never really determined if it was Angel or Spike the prophecy was talking about. Spike could have been made human and is now living as a 57 year old, still fighting evil, perhaps as a watcher to a new slayer.. If this happens, I want my royalty for the idea. :-)

Since Whedon called himself a male feminist, it was no wonder that he couldn't understand why the fans loved Spike as a romantic partner for Buffy.
Spike didn't lie about who he was. He was unapologetically evil, and he chose to become a better person despite his lack of a soul.
Angel was a neutered vampire, who turned into an incredibly evil person when he lost his soul again.
Spike also had obscene amounts of charisma. He added conflict and humour, and I loved every interaction with Giles.
