The Big 12 and Pac-12 want to make moves, but Notre Dame and the Big Ten still hold the keys...

    @Matt Fortuna... you have some good points, but I don't agree that Utah, Arizona, Az State, and Colorado would be better off in the PAC-12 if WA and OR stay. Let's say that PAC-12 adds San Diego State and Boise State... would that reformulated PAC-12 really pay more, be better competition, and be more prestigious than the Big XII?

      If OREGON/WASH don't have the value and revenue lift to keep the PAC12 revenue competitive and attractive enough to keep any more teams from leaving, why would either be that attractive to the B1G?

    The big 12 is not waiting for Notre Dame that would be the Big 10 and the ACC.

    The answer to the question "Can NBC change the tv deal with Notre Dame in the B1G to air all of the Notre Dame games in the B1G (both home and away)?" is "No". The reason is that's super duper favorite status for the Irish compared to the rest of the B1G schools. Part of being in the B1G is having 2 games on the Big Ten Network (Think Rutgers Week). Also FOX is going to want at a minimum 2 road games in the league. Nice thought but will never happen.

    If somebody were given out cash to pay peeps to stop talking about Notre Dame....I wonder who would actually take the cash.... The fact is h.s. athletes today are not looking at NDame with stars in their eyes. Those days are gone.

    I think the Big 12 should Invite Schools from 12 States which is basically the Southwestern corner of the USA. Start with Louisiana north to Missouri then west to California, build a Southwest Region presence

    The Big 12 by being centrally located can manage a coast to coast conference. What's teams left in the Pac 12 have done very well in football or basketball.? The new Big 12 will be awesome in basketball 🏀 and rock solid in football.

    a) If the ACC survives with a new competitive TV deal, it will be relatively close to the B1G/SEC and the BI12, PAC12 or some combination will be a distant 4th. If the ACC gets nuked, the BIG12 etc. will be a relatively irrelevant 3rd.
    b) Expanding the CFP would not have stopped realignment and may have made the revenue gap worse. Poor analysis. All 3 then "Alliance" conferences voted to block expansion.
    c) ND would likely have to join the ACC, leave, and pay the full GOR to unilaterally capitalize and get out of its ACC entanglements
    d) Neither the SEC nor B1G need ND, and ND will be locked out of a future Tier 1 playoff if it doesn't join a surviving Tier 1 conference. Money isn't the leverage, as ND has left money on the table for decades, it's the playoff access. No need to not make ND take a phase in share.
    e) I doubt renegotiating a better media deal will void the ACC GOR. A lower per team deal likely wood. The easiest out is an 8-team majority vote to dissolve.
    f) The SEC/B1G won't wait forever on ND to nuke the ACC if it comes to that

    Bob Stoops once recently said no one person is bigger then the program. In this case, whom ever pulls the strings for Notre Dame is playing games. Personally I think you give them a smart money deal to join the Big 10 and get onboard the Super Conference Train. If Notre Dame doesn't want to come along, you move along and you don't put the offer out again. If ND wants to stay independent let them. They can get their measly 15 million and hope that in the new NIL and the options to the playoffs to come with the changes of the conferences which doesn't guarantee ND Chit when this is done. This means if if ND is left out of a sure chance to the Natty when the new format comes out, and I was a big time recruit, would I waste my time committing to a program like ND? Just saying

      If the Big10 & SEC would tell ND that they own college football & they’ll decide how the playoff system works, ND would join a conference.

      Notre dame loves that independent don’t like to be force to do things but they better act quick or else they will be left behind.

      This would end quickly if USC/UCLA and the rest of the BIG schools agree not to schedule ND unless they join the BIG. Now that USC and UCLA games are on in the BIG, there's really no benefit for Ohio State or Michigan or USC to schedule them anymore. Enough big games already. It seems like they are driven by emotion more than anything else. Even if they somehow get access to a new CFP, the financial shortfall will be at least 2 times less in content licensing revenue every year. NBC started talking to the BIG early this year, tells you all you need to know about how NBC views the situation.

      @@charleswu1541 Well I think for USC and ND because of Knute Rockne who put this rivalry together was probably a condition to join from the USC side. I think what it means really for USC is they get one less give me games I call it against a obvious weaker team. I do agree. I have been saying this when OU and Texas left for the SEC that USC needs to go to the Big 10 to play those markee games. I thought more thought the Big 10 would take Oregon as the second so I was surprised about UCLA, but I did one time mention they might do that. I just didn't think it would be a reality with UCLA though

      @@usctrojans1626 I agree. If they format a true National Championship through the two Super Conferences and ND stalls on joining, if I was a recruit what good would it do me to committ to ND?

    USC and UCLA won't get a full share of the money for 7 years. Will that change for Notre Dame? Possibly. But the B1G has a policy that new members have to wait 7 years.

    • @tarheel7406
      @tarheel7406 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      a) This isn't some middle competitor moves and will the SEC make TX/OK wait for a full share?
      b) Seems like new B1G members have to buy into some equity, so there may be some withholding to accomplish this

    Utah, Arizona State, Arizona, and Colorado would be great fits in the Big XII, and I hope these teams see the bright future with the Big XII. Would bring great regional, cultural, and competitive fits.

      But I'll bet that the Big XII will have the highest win percentage against non-conference teams in 2023 and 2024. By the 2025, it will be a bigger conference.

    Andy. I enjoy your show. Great thoughtful conversations.
    My suggestion is that you do it in segments that are much shorter. You'll get a ton more views on YT. Very few people are going to click on a video that's 40 min or an hour. They will click on a video that's 6 - 12 min. If they like it, they'll keep clicking on the next segment. You'll be a much more successful TH-camr if you do (but the BIG 10 still won't take you 😄).

    • @erose964
      @erose964 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You are right, the first thing people look at when considering clicking on a video is it’s length.
