The problem persist still because of the lackadaisical attitude of the centre and communal majoritarianism practise by the state government to address the Manipur question. You all say it began the 3rd of MAY but the war was already planned and was already initiated before this said day by the Kuki in CHURACHANDPUR. We the MEITEI only came to know of their betrayal on the evening of 3rd MAY and so the people here replied violence with violence. Videos of the KUKI burning MEITEI houses, killings and even rape of women started to surface on facebook and other social media platform. Even now if you go near any KUKI inhabited area they will open fire at you. IF YOU DON'T BELIEVE ME COME VISIT MANIPUR AND SEE FOR YOURSELF. We the Meitei had to take up arms to protect ourselfs. It is war and lives are being lost on both sides. You cannot expect the Meiteis to remain calm when the KUKI's are shooting down us from the hills with high end snipers everyday. Even now you will find KUKI people residing in the valley, but you will not find any METEI in the churachandpur area.

Thats not true buddy previously centre gave support to the kukis by letting them do whatever is against the law. the meiteis resist hard to their misdeeds and started campaigning only then central govn had a vision that we can not just behave like this. Hill people comes to the Valley and settle down there because life in the Hills are tough with less Development and Employment opportunities. But I have some doubts. If the Govt is against kukis, then
1) Why did they sign SoO (Suspension of Operation) with kuki militant groups in which most of the groups are based in Myanmar.
2) Why are they allowing such militants to participate in the prevailing situation despite being under SoO?
3) Why did they allowed the armed militants to stop and loot the daily need goods in the national highways for days when there is AFSPA, Flag march and shoot at sight and the vehicles being escorted by forces?
4) 80,000 strong presence of security forces and still kukis daring attack meiteis in the foothills?
5) Meiteis aren't allowed to enter their houses in kuki dominated area whereas kukis are still staying well guarded and fortified in Imphal, why?
6) Looted guns in the valley but what about those looted guns in the hills, the heavy arms supply from Myanmar and militants? Check out India Today's report. Mr Kuldeep Singh, Security Advisor clarified only 58%personnel and arms available in SoO camps. Have a look in this also?

A true journalism in Karan Thapar and a true gentleman in Gopal Pillai. The problem persist still because of the lackadaisical attitude of the centre and communal majoritarianism practise by the state government to address the Manipur question. Unless an alternative administrative arrangement is made for the kuki-zo people, peace will remain elusive.

You all say it began the 3rd of MAY but the war was already planned and was already initiated before this said day by the Kuki in CHURACHANDPUR. We the MEITEI only came to know of their betrayal on the evening of 3rd MAY and so the people here replied violence with violence. Videos of the KUKI burning MEITEI houses, killings and even rape of women started to surface on facebook and other social media platform. Even now if you go near any KUKI inhabited area they will open fire at you. IF YOU DON'T BELIEVE ME COME VISIT MANIPUR AND SEE FOR YOURSELF. We the Meitei had to take up arms to protect ourselfs. It is war and lives are being lost on both sides. You cannot expect the Meiteis to remain calm when the KUKI's are shooting down us from the hills with high end snipers everyday. Even now you will find KUKI people residing in the valley, but you will not find any METEI in the churachandpur area.

This is so far the best interview thanks to karan for shooting the Strong must ask question.I am a Naga who reside here in manipur i as a teacher always thought whats the missing piece here that State and central can't solve this even after months & months of bloodshed. Such a good 123 suggestion from secretary which all the leader must hear it out! Because any quick decision can make it more worse.

Thats not true buddy previously centre gave support to the kukis by letting them do whatever is against the law. the meiteis resist hard to their misdeeds and started campaigning only then central govn had a vision that we can not just behave like this. All the facts have started coming out and people started hearing the other side of the story. Before this, internet ban in the valley and lawlessness in the hill areas had allowed to spread so many lies of the Kukis. After knowing the truth only the central gov has started to incline its view towards the meiteis.

I totally agree that the limited Land area in the Valley is a concern for the people of the Valley but having said that, I don't think a common citizens in the valley will buy a land in the hills to build Village because Life is tough in the Hills. Only the Rich Folks will happily buy lands in the Hills for Luxury Farm house and for other purposes.
The Valley people Meitei will buy land in the hilly regions and sell to Mining companies linked to BJP.
@@rekhakumar1441 well I don't know about that but I have been to Imphal several times over the past 4-5 years and I know the people there. Hill people comes to the Valley and settle down there because life in the Hills are tough with less Development and Employment opportunities. Most of the development happening in the Valley and it's not likely to change in decades or even a Century 😂 having said that the Heavily Populated Valley can only take so much of Population and Development unless they take over the Farm land in the Valley for more development which will effect the farming in the Valley areas.
The issue in Manipur is very complex and just demanding Seperate Adminstration might not be the solution but everyone should STOP Violence and start talks to settle the issues PERIOD. Can't expect anything good to come out of waiting for Solution from the Central Government though some Groups might want to leave everything to the GOI 😀
Life isn’t tough at all in the hills it was your own meitei small entrepreneurs who wants to set up a business in Churachandpur because business is good people are rich they mostly have govt jobs, private sector etc and economically advancing than your typical meitei villages…Shameless double standards community when they have nothing to boast about except NGARI
