- The beautiful Tien Shan Mountains of Kyrgyzstan, starting in Bishkek and Osh Bazaar and trekking to Chon Kemin National Park, Kegeti Gorge and Burana Tower. Kol Tor Lake and Kochkor to Konerchek Canyons and their fabulous red rocks, then hiking from Kyzart to Song Kol Lake, driving over high Tuz Ashuu Pass on the way to Tash Rabat, a 15th Century stopover on the Silk Road. From there along the Chinese Border to Kelsuu Lake, staying with a family of shepherds. Then on to the remote Kokshaal Too Mountain Range with fantastic views of Kyzyl Asker Mountain, then along the shores of Yssyk Kul Lake, before trekking to Alakul Lake and Altyn Arashan.

Been to Kyrgyzstan twice, spent over a month in the country and it's my favourite I have ever visited!

I am a composer from Bashkortostan, Ufa, and now I live in California, and I really admire this music, congratulations, musicians of Kyrgyzstan, I am really proud of you, such great music! These are real masterpieces I've never heard of before!
I always try to use local music in my travel videos. A lot of what I got was more synthy, pop-oriented. But I love the more traditional instrumentation and vocals. Check out my Mongolia videos, especially the ones where I record traditional Kazakh music.

Returning my memories to my childhood. My geologist’s parents were working and living in Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Afghanistan, and China, and I was with them all time. Growing up, I worked in the same region and was always impressed with one of the best wildernesses in the world, climbing all peaks around. I would love to go one day here again.

Hey Buddy... What a great unspoiled destination. Really enjoyed watching it and following the exploration. The drone adds a whole new dimension to the places you go... So is this a destination you will return to again?
Thanks Howard! There are a few places I'd like to visit on a return trip. They have some 7000m peaks on the border with China and another on the border with Tajikistan that look amazing for trekking, and then there his the Pamir Highway to Tajikistan and possibly the Wakhan Corridor in Afghanistan.

June. It's still snowy in higher elevations and not all passes are open. By late June, it really starts to warm up. When I arrived in Bishkek, it was cold, near freezing at night, and by the time I left at the end of June it was already 35ºC.
Super beautiful. In which month that you were traveling in this video?
Early June. It was a bit cold and snowy at the higher elevations, but at least I got to see some ice on the lake. A week or two earlier and I wouldn't have been able to do my trek due to snow and as it was, it was barely passable. It also snowed at Song Kul and was still below freezing. By the time I left, however, it was already in the 30º's C in Bishkek.

I'm sorry I don't know. My kyrgyz friend gave me the files and the titles are in some strange font that's not even text of any language. Maybe doing a shazam or google/siri search.

Kyrgyzstan is Central Asia, although there are Europeans, mostly of Russian origin, living there.
