    the mic doesn't record 32bit by default out the box on its own. it needs to activated from the receiver or a dji product like pocket 3 and action 4. same with noise cancelling. so as default it is 24bit. Also 32bit doesn't influence levels of sound it just gives a lot more headroom for your audio not to clip or distort at loud volumes and allows you to raise low audio audio signals up without raising the noise floor ie hiss, background noise etc. 32bit offers cleaner sound making it sound like its controlling volume but its just a cleaner signal.

      Had this since the mic dropped and never once caught this! Would think it would come with the 32 bit enabled from the factory, crazy to me. But thank you for this info!

      I was wondering about this ! I just ordered the creators kit and now I'm even more excited.
      I use my GoPro hero 11 for vlogging, running videos. The issue is you need good light, and color grading in resolve isn't easy.
      With DLog on the P3 and low light performance, I'm very excited.

    • @DanCarr
      @DanCarr ปีที่แล้ว

      Really?@@ZanderRound Other people are reporting that the camera's timecode isn't synced to the Mic 2's audio file, so you can't use the timecode to sync video and audio. Which would be a massive fail if true. I'm sure that's what @PaulMessner meant. Did you try this?

    I have a desktop with plenty of USB inputs, none of which work to transfer files from the Mic 2.
    Thankfully it has one USB-C input and when I connect the Mic 2 to it, instantly the files pop up.
    The Mic 2 doesn't even have to be on for this to happen.

      I have the gain on the mic on about +6, it won’t peak remember because of the 32bit float so theoretically you can have it as loud as you need it 👍

    • @ryanwinchester3864

      I have the pocket 3 and mic 2. Once you turn on the mic 2 then turn on the pocket 3, the mic auto syncs with the camera. Audio files are then copied to the video files without having to sync them. You can use the mic 2 as a stand alone recorder device or record the audio/video simultaneously and record a back up file saved to the device alongside the audio video you recorded as a safe measure.

So to record in 32-bit float, is that an option to improve the audio quality? Because the camera by default records audio at a lower quality? A lower bitrate? Thank you

    Hi thanks for the wonderful sharing. I've like you video but I I need some help. Whenever I try to place my 32 bit audio onto the adobe premier track, I found out that the audio clip are longer compared to the original audio recorded in pocket 3. I think this issue happens because whenever I press the record button on my pocket 3, there will be a slight delay on my dji mic 2 before it starts to record. So meaning that I have to clap my hand to create a peak before I start to Vlog as the audio peak will help me to sync both the audio. May I know have you encountered this issue? Thanks

    Thanks,
    Question please - is the Mic 2 unit stereo when using it with the Pocket 3 and stand alone, or does it just record in mono (which would be crazy if it has all that tech in anyhow!)?
    Thanks and great video.
    PS - hope the flu's better.

    • @nolepholife2843
      @nolepholife2843 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you're asking does both the unit and dji mic 2 work simultaneously for stereo (like the Rode ME), the answer is no. I imagine it could possibly with a firmware update, but I assume they want to sell additional mic units and doing so would be a conflict of interest.

    • @kelvinzyteng

    I just checked and yes it says 32bit float for internal recording. However I pulled down volume and you can see that everything that was clipped, still stay clipped, no benefit of 32bit recovery. Maybe the cam uses a 0db hard limiter or it's not real 32bit recording

    Is it possible to use the included DJI Mic 2 and simultaneously record the sound of a microphone connected to the USB port on the free channel?
    And is it possible to use a USB to 3.5mm jack adapter to connect headphones for sound control?
    Of course, it would be even more awesome if you could pair your AirPods or similar Bluetooth headphones with the Pocket 3 for sound control and possibly commentary on the free track (when the DJI Mic 2 is connected).
    With the GoPro Hero 12, you can at least record an additional commentary track this way. Info on whether you can also control the sound, I have unfortunately not yet found in any video.

    • @nolepholife2843

      When plugging in a USB mic, it will only operate one or the other. It prioritizes the DJI mic when both are plugged in. When the DJI mic is shut off/ disconnects, it switches to USB.

So now I know. A little mic. How clever. I’d better go and retrieve it from the bin. Trouble is I don’t have any DIN plugs handy so I can connect it to the camera. Anyone know how much internal storage memory does the DJI Mic 2 have to record 32 Bit Float? Edited: Actually i think i see the capacity at 0:41 as 11.2h. Using an approximation of 1GB=1.25h of audio i would guess it has about 9GB of memory.
