  • How to make the most delicious and easy bagel with a twist of strawberries insides:
    Ingredients for 8 bagels:
    450 gr bread flour
    200 g strawberries (fresh or frozen)
    20 g honey
    10 g salt
    15 g fresh yeast (or dry yeast)
    100 lukewarm water
    1 Egg to brush the bagel for that golden color
    Instructions:
    - In a bowl or stand mixer, mix the warm water with the fresh yeast until is well dissolved.
    - In another boll mix all ingredients together including the diced strawberries and mix by hand for a couple of minutes until a ball forms.
    - Cover the bowl and let it rest 30 minutes.
    - On a lightly floured surface, knead the dough for 2-3 minutes or until the dough is smooth.
    - Let the dough rise at room temperature for 6 - 8 hours or until it doubles in size. Or overnight like I did in the fridge.
    - Divide your dough into 8 pieces. If the dough is sticky, you can always add a little flour to your hands, use your finger to poke a hole through the center of each ball and rotate the dough with two fingers to form a ring.
    - Place your bagels on a greased tray and cover with a towel or plastic wrap. - - Let them rest for 1 hours or until puffy to the touch.
    - Drop bagels in boiling water for 1 minute on each side and remove with a slotted spoon; drain well.
    - Place on baking sheets and brush with egg wash.
    - Bake the bagels for 17-20 minutes at 200 °C (420 F) or until golden brown on the outside.
