Funny and interesting video. I’m not a phd myself and I think that actually many people without phd also do the same mistake. You should see it as a salesperson POV. You don’t sell you but a product. Distance yourself from it. Then send the application even if it’s not a 100% fit. It should of course be a job you can more or less do, but don’t be shy about doing it. any job application is drowned anyway with many other ones around. So fire and forget. Then focus on the next one. Work with recruiters which have very valuable information where and how to apply and focus on training yourself, not on this sale process

Absolutely! Great observations here. "Distance yourself from it" is not easy for everyone, but definitely helps make a strong-fit sale.
