- Hip-Hop and the “Hood Gospel” (ft. Kirk Franklin, Glorilla, Papa San, Shabba Ranks, and Biggie Smalls).
Everytime I hear complaints about gospel artists working with hip-hop artists, the Tupac Shakur quote comes to mind (may he rest in power):
"These ghetto kids ain't God's children? And I don't see no missionaries coming through there."
Reflections on Kirk Franklin's origins in hip-hop and his witness to a generation, as well as his recent collaboration with Glorilla...proof that both the "righteous" and the ratchet are a part of the sacred balance that make up humanity 😂
In all seriousness go stream "GLORIOUS" by Glorilla and stop being a hater all your life. Shit hard.

Thank you for bringing Glorilla into the conversation ❤
I LOVED Papa San and Kirk growing up. Although I’m not religious anymore, I still listen to Kirk because he always felt authentic and relatable. Tye Tribbett was also another revolutionary in gospel music: he has a lot of jazz and rock influence in his music.
I must have played Kirk Franklin's Hosana at least 1 million times at university. I would blast it on my headphones while studying so I could drown out the chatter around me and focus.
I always say random words because i definitely didn't know what he was saying but i love the same
Is the hair do in your profile pic new? Looks damn good, man!
