Wacom Julia Trotti great to see you guys take note that Juilia did this video to help us out there. As I’m on a veterans pension and this is a great idea for me to help my photography as ive got back into my photography for my rehab. So my old bamboo is out due to it was damaged while in a bag prob just to big. But I’m going to try saving up to get one. As I’d say the others at my clinic may find the use of one of these be great for things they do like drawing and other rehab stuff. Even just using there computers. I seem to be the go to guy for asking about stuff for some reason lol. So I guess when I can seeing it may cause some sales your way. I just got mine 2 days ago and I'm still getting used to it for editing photos. Still 10/10 would recommend.

That mouse comment is absolutely true. But as someone who isn't that professional (yet? 😁), and who doesn't have the money for a tablet at the moment, I do everything on the little touchpad by the laptop keyboard. It's a great alternative!
Excellent presentation! I bought a XP-Pen Deco 03 wireless drawing tablet a couple years ago. I got that over the wacom because it had a larger surface and was cheaper than the wacom intuos. It works fine in adobe illustrator and photoshop.
This helped me out so much! I have been wanting to get into the digital drawing world for a while now and have been looking for Wacom tablets that fit my taste. I think this is the one for me! Your video answered all my questions so thank you! ❤
I adore my tablet! It only took me a few hours to get the hang of it and made it so much easier for me to retouch. I would get really sick looking at the computer for so long and with the tablet my editing time was greatly reduced. I got a small one and kind of wish I went to the medium size but my budget didn’t allow it at the time

My editing work is minimal on my photos, still I switched from mouse to a tablet last winter ...... I would not go back to mouse, like you said some mouvements are not natural with the mouse and you get more lrecision in your mouvements with the tablets

I have a question regarding the Bluetooth which is the main reason that I am deciding to get one like that.
Do you need an extra adaptor USB to connect it? or is this connected via Bluetooth only similar to Bluetooth mac keyboard?
I'm not too much into lots of toys with a million buttons. However, I do have 'The One By Wacom', which I think is part of the Bamboo series, it only has two buttons on the pen and I love it! I always use it so such a point I bought a smaller unnamed one for my laptop when I’m travelling. I have my pen pressure sensitive so it’s a bit like a real pen the harder you press the the heavier the edit. For landscape photography they are almost essential. Like yourself I had to force myself to use it to get into the habit, and even though mine is hard wired the pen can impact on my mouse if not put away correctly. I've had my Wacom for about 4 years and I think they’ve just about halved in price here in the U.K. A superb bit of kit.
Will the Wacom One work with Lightroom and Photoshop?

My Wacom Tablet Intuos Pro is totally the new one and I've bought it 3 years ago. I have no idea how to use it. How can I start use my tablet? I know that tablet is probably better than mouse. Julia, I love your channel and your personality 🙂 xoxo
Just start. As Julia said, plug it in and use it for everything. You just need to get used to it in your hand. After a while it'll be second nature.
Don’t forget downloading the drivers from wacom’s website if you’d like pen pressure in programs on your computer!

Thank you for this video, I was juggling between this and the pro for retouching photos. Seems like you don't need those extra features that comes with the pro when it comes to that use case, so I doubt I would need them either.
I love watching your editing videos but I couldn't find one where you explained why one should use a tablet... until now. Now I have to find the money to get one hehe.

So I have a question: I want to get a graphics tablet that I can use for osu! and digital art that’s under $150. For the most part, I’ve narrowed it down to the CTH-480 and this (CTL4100). So it seems like the easy decision would be to go with the CTH-480 because so many ranked players use it and there are so many great reviews about it. My only issue is this: it’s nine years old, whereas the newer Intuos (CTH-4100) just came out last year. Are there any advantages to the 4100 besides the fact that it is newer? Will the 480 be outdated soon? Is it still good for digital art? Thanks.

I.m thinking about to downgrade from my Intuos Pro PTH-850 L to Bamboo CTH-670 type or Intuos 690 - both are M-version (i.m industrial designer use it for sketches and renderings). Any advices will take into account and appreciate

I'm working as a graphic designer making banners. Websites also logotypes but I use photoshop most of the time. I start having pain from too many clicks and I got tentonities and pain in the wrist. Do you think for the work that I'm I doing a tablet will help? Or its only for retouching and painting. I'm waiting for your opinion because I really have to decide if i will change my mouse or I will swicth up to tablet. Thank you!!

I feel that my hand cramps up more with the pen than the mouse, I retouch 8hours a day 5 days a week. But I totally prefer the tablet for dodge and burn skin retouching!

Thanks! I find that it only lags if I also have a bluetooth mouse connected at the same time. So when I go to use my tablet, I just turn off my mouse and it works without lag!

Would I be able to use this for everyday drawing like Microsoft office paint style? I use Gimp (similar to photoshop but free) and i was gonna mainly use it for maybe making wallpapers (drawing stuff) or making little drawing things like that (if i make sense)

Hi Julia, I am just starting with retouching and was wondering how you make sure or how do you know that your tablet/ computer screen has a high colour accuracy? I find that on my devices the colours look very different on each of them which makes it really hard to edit colours because I don't now which screen is true to the "real" colours... oh and thanks for all your explanation videos, they are very helpful😊

I would recommend to get something like a Spyder (or any brand) to calibrate your screen! That way you don't have to second guess yourself :)

I just purchased the small bluetooth and i plugged it in to charge and test it and everything was ok i guess,when fully charged i switched the bluetooth on and it lags too much!I have nothing else connected,do you know how to solve this?Im on mac os.

I have the same one and I have to plug it in cause it doesn't work with my computer. I guess it's too old because it works on my wife's laptop. But according to the specs it should work. Anyway it's definitely useful for retouching.

Thank you! Yeah you can definitely make it work with a small tablet as well! I used to edit on a small sized one and it was fine for skin retouching :)

Yep I pretty much only use my tablet for working in Photoshop!

Hey I have a question I have been curious to ask you. Can the Wacom tablet Bluetooth be connected to your (old)apple iPad?
No you can't connect it to iPad as you need to install the software to be able to use it on a computer, which isn't available in the app store.
Do you suggest tablet use also for those people who do not do skin retouching very often? For regular LR tone / color / density editing > I currently use a trackpad. Also would the small version of the Intuous tabled be still useful? Have you considered the small before getting the medium? Great vid as usual.
I personally only really use my tablet for skin retouching and prefer to use my mouse for LR tone/colour/etc :) And I used to use a small tablet when I first started photography and didn't have much of a budget for equipment and the small worked out really well too! I just prefer the medium now, hope that helps 😊

No, you can only use the pen on this one!

I have the old bamboo. Thank you for this as Lightroom and PS are my goto, plus my new MacBook Pro I’m going to get a mouse as well. But this is big thing to get back to. Can i get tips replacements and as be looking around Harvey Norman and stuff what’s the average price and difference with pro can get same size in pro and is it a large price difference as just going to be for photo editing. I use the apple pen on my iPad and its the best thing ive bought. As with notability for iPad and Mac it does handwriting and can turn to text can lock folders and great for adding everything from web clips a quick photo of a form and you can add it to your note and write on it. So its a App Store thing but i think better than any other all in one file folder even cloud updates and can se files on your Mac iphone and iPad. But can add PDF word and excel or any say billing or black set up pages and with your pen can fill in with client or what ever keep in as many tabs /folders with locks. Just many people dont see it yet see me using it for notes at drs or group. Yet I scan take a picture of the white board add it to the page I’m working on and not have to copy the info but can draw lines and add extra. So thought could help you as you helping us with things like this and i see your a MacBook person and this not memory hungry lots updates really cross compatible plus always cloud secure. Not crashes with other gear. Hope it helps and going to get the upgrade to my old bamboo cable was a problem also size. So great. Do you have any of your presets for ps or Lightroom available?????
I mentioned it quickly in this video, but this tablet has tip replacements for the pen which are stored inside the pen. You just unwind it and there are about 5 spare tips :) As for size, I personally find that medium is more than enough for me. I used to use a smaller tablet, so the small version works for retouching as well! The large one I feel like would be better suited for illustration as you have more space to work with or just personal preference if you prefer moving around more when retouching! And yes, all my presets are available for Lightroom on www.digitalfilmactions.com and I have a few Photoshop actions as well :) Hope that helps!

I have bought a wacom tablet a while ago, however...I did not like how I cannot see what I was writing (easily) because everytime I draw. I have to look up at the computer screen.
I, for some reason felt like I couldn't draw that easily.
Now, I am kinda getting used to it now. :>
Yeah it definitely takes some practice and getting used to drawing and looking at the screen instead of where you're drawing! It took me a little while to get the hang of it too :)
