Nice info about showing how to open the fan's propeller. One of the fans on my y530 was rubbing and making a lot of noise+vibration. I couldn't see how to open the cover of propeller (i wanted to lube inside). some propeller blades were disoriented and rubbing. I tried to fix and clean from the top. some were broken but still noisy. I plugged off the fan and ordered a new one. I replaced it today, keeping the old one. The propellers are made of a very lousy plastic. If something happens to these fans again, next time I'll cut and tape the retainers around the edges to clean them like you. but maybe there is a better way to take off the propeller without cutting the cover holders. I also reapplied thermal paste while the laptop was take apart. Now it runs quieter and cooler. I will ask something, I panicked when I saw that the left part of the battery was a little swollen, but so is your battery too. Is this its normal state? should we be worried?
