Calibration is only for print and cut. Cutting over each other usually means the settings are too high and the blade is getting stuck at some point. Especially on the Curio 2 since it's a flat bed system. Or the blade isn't installed correctly or the height detection wasn't done properly. All those factors can affect the force applied which would affect cut placement.
@@dr.margiea.hinojosa3282 are you doing a manual detection? If not, I would recommend you do it so you can see the number or measures. If it's glossy vinyl, you may need to place a flat piece of copy paper on top to get the height detection to read correctly. The optical eye bounces off shiny materials.
It does not replace anything. The Auto Detect is a new feature that automatically detects the thickness of the material since it can now work with up to 20 mm of thickness of materials. You still have your same cut settings of blade depth, force, and speed as you do with all Silhouette machines.
I would need more details to even begin troubleshooting.... Is it cutting at all? Is it going through the motions and just not cutting properly? Is it detecting the height? Is the tool not touching the material?
Just got my Curio 2 but it's not detecting the material thickness nor even attempt to move. It also is not detecting the Autoblade. Can this be just a defective machine or is there something else we should be doing?
I would first start over with all the setup. Make sure you are on a software version v4.5.770 for best results and try again. Usually, it's something in the setup. If you still cannot get it, then reach out to Silhouette Support for assistance with as much information as you can. They will need the exact steps you are taking and photos and/or video to begin troubleshooting.
This is fascinating! Are they bringing out this machine for people who want one machine to “do it all” so cutting and engraving? I wonder what would make people would choose either the Curio or the Cameo? Is the electrostatic mat the only way to use this machine? I have so many questions as it’s intriguing 😂
The Curio 2 is pretty much the all in one, it's just limited to a cuttable area of 12"x12" and cannot cut off a roll. The Curio debris tray is used with the Power Engraver and is the power bed option. That is an additional accessory.
😂this is amazing 👏🏿 git the Cameo 3 still
Looking forward to receiving my new machine. Cant wait to see a video on engraving! That really interests me. Great videos! Easy to follow.
Thank you!
Tools won't be here until later Fall 2023.... so all we have is the demos from Summit....

I am so enjoying your video’s thank you. I cant wait until i see that someone in Australia has these machines in stock so i can spend some money!
Yay! I'm so glad that they help!
thank you. my question: how can I calibrate my Curio 2. a lot of times its cutting letters over other!!

Thank you very much!
Have you ever had issues with the depth detector? My machine is not getting the depth right and isn’t touching the vinyl so it won’t cut.

@ I tried it. It still isn’t working. 😭
When I use the Cameo 4 I set two settings plus speed. Which one does the auto detect on the curio replace?

@@SilhouetteSecrets ohhhh so it just tells the machine where the top surface is… thank you!
@@gailgohrick5836 yes.

@@SilhouetteSecrets thanks. It’s definitely an interesting machine. It looks great
Tell me, it is inevitable that material will not be perfectly flat. Can you tape the corners to avoid wasting material?
Yes, you can take the corners if needed. There is a roll of masking tape for just that purpose includes with the Curio 2.
