  • My first impressions of Amman, Jordan. What could go wrong?
Trying local hummus and falafel breakfast at the famous Hashem restaurant, getting lost in the hectic streets of Amman, and looking for pants in the Sugar market.
I hope you enjoy this video.

Roman, I was in Amman around the same time as you (last September) and was the best trip of my life, I have literally walked in the same steps you have taken this video , Hashem, the big bazaar aound downtown. The waiter in Hashem at 8:45 s one of the happiest people I ever met (although hes frowning here lol), he smiled every time we saw him each morning for breakfast. I've a picture with him in the restaurant.

Not a good idea to bargain for products bought in the open market, unless you are buying several items. Just because it is the Middle East, does not mean that we bargain, even in local spice shops where they sell walnuts or pine nuts and saffron, these are expected to have a high price, and even has grades, as in 1st and 2nd. I enjoyed the video, but just a hint to people whose first language is not English, don't take the frequency of the F word in movies to be an indicator of how people really speak. It is generally considered poor taste and offensive to throw the F word into casual conversation in many parts of the english speaking world. Some places it's fine, but know your audience before you choose to use it.

Jordan is beautiful country with many kind and friendly people. Of course, there are those who look to take advantage of Americans. Most believe that American equals rich, which is far from the truth.
