I love how, right after the Doctor says "You're a champion sprinter" something in The Master's eyes just snaps
The way you he moves his mouth after saying "spy... master" just makes it look as if he gets so much pleasure out of his own reveal. Sacha dawan is absolutely brilliant as the master and a great fit
It's the moment when you can see him debating "Do I reveal it now, or...? No, stupid question - of course I do! COOEEEEEE!"

@@lucifersdevilishdetails. Thats not a lie. It makes a lot of sense that timelords (who change bodies) know each other on physcic level. Evidence: In the season 4 finale the Doctor was able to Identify Rasselon and His mother who both had new bodies as confirmed by the audio books.
Dang I remember when the episode started and I was all like 'aw sweet we're gonna get a new companion who has great chemistry with the Doctor and is really smart! Plus he's known her in different regenerations!!' and then he goes from :D to >:D

I screamed to the reveal but to be honest I screamed louder when I saw the tissue compression eliminator. I love how this series brought back so much Classic Who.
I agree. I just watched the clip of the 3rd Doctor meeting The Master (Pertwee/Delgado) for the first time, and Sacha Dhawan nails the insanity and the evil right on the head. I've played a few science fiction villains on stage, and there's a certain kind of character where the main note is to just walk out and chew scenery until nothing remains. So much fun!

Spyfall Part 1 = Kasaavin are biggest threat, until the end of the episode
Spyfall part 2 = Kasaavin are still MEANT to be the biggest threat but are easily overshadowed by The Master
For all of you saying he’s before Missy, let me introduce The Lumiat. An incarnation made by Missy when she was close to death. The Lumiat was shot by an earlier timeline version of Missy and regenerated into Sacha’s master.
The saddest thing about the Chibnall Era is that I love this incarnation of the Master, and it would’ve been amazing to see him in an era that had better writing and direction
Maybe he’ll stick around, who knows?
I watched this episode, and when I saw this reveal, I was like "Oh. My. God! The Master's back and crazier than ever." Sacha Dhawan is now one of my Top 3 favourite versions of the Master, with Michelle Gomez and John Simm.

In the same spirit as before, this almost exactly what The Master would do. He loves fucking with The Doctor, and just like with missy, he totally would do this. Seeing him back and just as awesome as I remember brings hope for this series

I mean, it’s still very lack luster compared to other New Who Doctor’s runs. No fault on Jodie’s end, I still place a lot of blame on Chibnall.
It had some really strong elements but also a lot of inconsistencies and weaker episodes and people tend to focus on those unfortunately. Spyfall in particularly i adore

The Master is like The Daleks or The Cybermen, every time you think they're gone for good they'll find a way back. The Master has had more regenerations then The Doctor and he often steals bodies as well near his death if he has to (Classic Who). Believe me like the Daleks, The Master is to good a villain to get rid of for good. He's The Moriarty to The Doctor's Sherlock, his equal.

Some may already be scratching their heads based on that fact alone, but it turns out Missy did not destroy herself when she took out John Simm's Master. Using a device called the Elysium field (forbidden Timelord tech), Missy was able to get a new regeneration cycle. Plus when a new incarnation comes of a Timelord, not just their physical appearance changes but so does their personality and the Master has always been known to be insane. Just because Missy was redeemed once, doesn't mean her/his next body and personality is going to be the same. The Master always goes after the previous just like the Doctor so no this Master is post-Missy.

Is it just me, or does The Master give a clue as to where in his timeline this incarnation falls when he says to The Doctor "C'mon Doctor, catch up'. When we see Missy's reveal, she says 'Oh, do try to keep up!' That seems to me to indicate that this Master comes before Missy!

I was very surprised 😱 as well I did not see it coming
even though it hasn't been explained whether this Master is before or after Missy, I like to think that he is BEFORE Missy, that he regenerated from John Simm's Master after the end of The Doctor Falls. I mean, we never see him die at the end, we only see him in the elevator and he's still alive at that time, so maybe he managed to regenerate before death? Either way, it doesn't make sense for him to be AFTER Missy, especially after we were expected to think she sacrificed herself for The Doctor.
I suspect it's after Missy with all the good being wiped out when learning what the Timelords did to the timeless child
Stephen Foster I’m not really sure about that. We saw Missy die, no regeneration etc. Simm’s Master got her with his laser screwdriver, and said it was full blast - no regeneration. It doesn’t make sense for it to be after Missy. After Missy stabbed the Master in the back, we saw him in the elevator, but no sign of regeneration. It’s hard to tell if O was after Simm, or before Yana

DorkyWhovian101 the Master has been killed in way more extreme ways than a simple laser. If he could come back from being sucked into a black hole then the Master could survive that. Also the one person in the universe the Master never underestimates is themself so Missy probably would’ve prepared something

Just because a lotta things returned doesn't mean it is a good season. It had a great set-up, but Timeless Children is in my (and MANY others') opinion the worst Doctor Who episode of all time.
This was a *Fantastic* and Well built up reveal that had me *Shocked beyond Compare!!!*

@@DrewFC I think he said that if his screwdriver was fully charged, it would prevent Missy from regenerating. That's a big if. But anyway... it's the Master. Unexplained recoveries are what they DO.

@@TabbyVee Let's be clear though, regardless of that, we're talking about the Master. Unexplained Recovery is what they DO. Missy even made fun of that in The Magician's Apprentice (before giving a POSSIBLE explanation for her last survival). So we can assume, possibly, that the Master's screwdriver was busted or something and just accept it. OR we can quibble because that's what the internet is FOR. :P

Good question.
We've seen him take over the bodies of other people, inhabiting them and totally supplanting them. (The Doctor has never tried contacting the original person "in there" and encouraging them to "fight back", as he has done with others whose bodies have been taken over.)
I assume he hasn't done that this time, since the body has been shrunk and isn't available for take-over.
Yet I get the impression that this appearance IS that of the murdered agent.
Perhaps he regenerated in the likeness of this man without actually taking over the body. Romana showed this could be done, at will and on a whim. Perhaps the Master did so when he needed to regenerate. Or perhaps he did it simply because it was expedient.
Or maybe he's developed a process to both "tissue-compress" a person to death AND take over the body. Perhaps an aspect of time travel could allow one person's timeline to end in both circumstances.

After Missy. Whether you like it or not
It's before Missy, John Simms Master killed Missy and she was the final Master but before he killed her she stabbed him causing the beginning of a new regeneration and this is who John Simm regenerated into then this Master will probably regenerate into the 10th Master then their will be an 11th, but Missy was the 12th. That's my theory, I know the Time Lords resurrected The Master for the Time War so technically John Simm was the first of a whole new regeneration cycle but he was still the 7th Master and we saw Missy die so unless there was someone who took her body and performed the ritual that resurrected John Simms Master in End Of Time part 1 or The Master had stolen a regeneration cycle previously and entrusted it to someone so they could bring him back then there is no way that the Time Lords have given him another regeneration cycle after he stopped Rasilon's plan in End Of Time and sent the Time Lords back into the time locked Time War. Yes I do need a life, but Doctor Who is a part of that life 🤣.

We don't know for sure that he's AFTER Missy but its a possibility. Her and the Simms Master killed each other
Last we saw her John Simm’s Master killed Missy. However they’re purposely keeping quiet about which Master this is. He could very well be after Simm’s Master but before Missy (since we never actually saw Simm regenerate into Missy). Or Missy survived and regenerated into this one. OR he could be even before Jacobi’s Master (who turned into Simm’s Master).

@@dmmoctober Makes sense, cause of that. Would be awesome when he first met Missy even if she is a later regeneration. That would also make the Doctor become a female before the Master did. Also, they did it with Davros too in a way, as a child he met the 12th Doctor at first but for us it was the last Doctor at that moment. Same with River, that backwards meeting. Maybe they thought why not do it also with the Master too in case of 1 of his regenerations. It would be so hillarious on so many different levels, so i am pretty sure that is exactly the case. No theory, or hoping for it, i am *SURE* . We will see if i was right, when this Indian Master dies (i love this dude, he is even better than the first Master of NuWHO, not the old man, the actor he turned into, forget the name), if he turns into Missy or not. I say he will and she escapes right after that in some form and is gone, and will be confronted with the Doctor in those episodes we already saw, would also make a rewatch necessary and possible cause of that (all the Missy episodes i mean, from Missy's point of view). Preceyese Seyeght I did enjoy; well written. But I’m afraid you’re wrong as the actor and Chibnall have confirmed he’s after Missy. Also confirmed in the Doctor Who Annual, in a comic book story, apparently, where 13 says, “I preferred you as Missy - at least she wanted to change” and The Master replies, “that’s because she spent too much time with you!”

Also, those spoken lines prove nothing, still that 1 Master can know about spended time with Missy even if he wasn't Missy already. You get it ?? This show is about time travel and a very intelligent psycho (Master), it can be that he knew about Missy and the Doctor without turning into her . Also Missy was friendly at the end to the Doctor, i still can't believe it that she turned into that mass murdering indian Master. It really would make more sense if he turns first to the Indian Master and after that to Missy !! Again, i should write the storys for them !!
@@dmmoctober I forgot, we saw Missy and the Master together, Saxon Master, he knews about her since then, makes sense, she could have telled him everything necessary and the Indian Master knows about Missy too if he is the next regeneration of Saxon Master. So it still works well with my theory. Sorry, but it looks more that i am right instead of wrong. You cant trust BBC or chibnall or Moffat, they have so many shows in their head, they mess up to once in a while when it comes to remembering stuff or else !!
