I got the Behringer 808 and 909 for the same reason. Nothing beats those punch in sequencers in the end in terms of usability. The drumstation sure sounds nice but a proper tr style sequencer makes a big difference to me too. Don't understand why novation never jumped on that bandwagon. A desktop drumstation update with a sequencer for a reasonable price would have been dope
This video was exactly what I needed when deciding whether to buy one. Appreciate it! I snagged mine for a great deal, but I would've gladly paid more. I’ve got the V1, and so far, no bugs to report. I just released a video of it running through a dozen pedals and effects-take a look if you get a chance!
You could try to utilize velocity, turn down velocity for all sounds but the accented notes. Also, but this involves a lot of fiddling, increase distortion a bit only on the accented notes to give it that extra 👊
Even prices for rejected gear have been going through the roof lately, I'm pretty certain I could sell all my rejected synths for twice what I've payed 1-2 years ago. For some reason, people seem to have lots of cash burning holes into their pockets during the pandemic!?
bruh this the best intro ever
i loved mine, until i bought a TR8s and it's got a really good sequencer attached to all of the tones from the Roland boxes and much more.

Great review and analyse !
I love my T-RD 809 ;)
Thanks a lot! 👍
Ive got the D-station the last version of this they made
Novation DrumStation used by Laurent Garnier, Massive Attack, etc... :-)
it was also used by underworld
Is there any way to re-create the 808/909 accent on a DrumStation? I can't find a way to do it.

for rejected gear these are still pretty expensive.

£250 on ebay.. seems cheap as chips to me
250 has become a very reasonable price for these machines, they are often listed between 300 and 400 now
