Can you play the waves backward?

Is it possible to use the ensemble effect on an external source?

My FZ-1 was working fine until i forgot to switch it off, the next day I came back and start sampling and whatever i recorded into it had a lot of hiss like cassette tape, something must have overheated due to being switched on for too long, any ideas?

Amazing tips, The FZ-1 is just so deep! To be honest I only use it with FZ dump over MIDI (and transfers crash more than half of the time) so I don't have much patience to explore and tweak further, but some day, I know I will... I love this thing to death! The slowness of it is very nice. Helps you to focus in a different way. Very relaxing.

You can get more sounds out of it by placing a microphone above the drum pads.

Honestly, this is a really good example of how even legitimately bad gear is generally still usable. While the sounds are an acquired taste and the bass synth's envelope is definitely no Moog, it's still got some decent features and above all, it's functional and outputs usable sound. I wouldn't buy it when there are other options like the Arturia Drumbrute Impact or Korg Drumlogue in its price bracket unless you specifically want a Rhythm Wolf for its... unique... sounds, but if you already have one a couple FX pedals can really breath new life into it.

i got the rd8 and i see its place in the world..the connectivity to other gear and the ability to store presets have a nearly endless sequencer and use trigger outs makes sense and improves the over all workflow.. we cant all buy an 808 and if i wanted to use samples id just use a daw not buy a roland to play them for me..but as far as the moog clones..im unsure. they arent that interesting to begin with..they are still in production.. and are just basic synths with one or two quirks to make them stand out. i did order an edge just to try one but i doubt ill keep it after it comes and i get tired of making old sounding bloops and bleeps and maybe some cool kicks. i get more interesting stuff out of the thomas henry hard sync VCO i built myself.

Thank you for this excellent video ! I feel guilty because i don't use my Volcas that much but i love them ! I really love the V beats and its snare doesn't bother me ; i think it defines its own sound and make it recognizable !
