They don’t need the plastic surgery, just a nice new hair style, maybe a good teeth bleaching and a good make up regimen.
Brea Jones no surgery can make you feel a lot better and completely change your outlook on life. It allows you to stop focusing about your looks and start focusing on more important things like having fun and being with family/friends etc

Yea, they went to extreme measures to make sure their reaction to seeing themselves was genuine. I remember seeing how the even coated the bottoms of the pots and pans in their temporary apartment with some weird substance so it was reflection proof, the windows in their apartment were the same. And anytime they'd be out and about, they were blindfolded when approaching any windows

"Transforming" her with actual cosmetic procedures will just make her feel as if her natural beauty is ugly, that she has to be completely transformed because she is "naturally ugly." That is just horrible. Absolutely horrible. This show should be helping her see her natural beauty, the beauty that she was born with. Not make her look like any other "pretty" person, like this person who is unnatural and fake. These people completely destroyed her natural beauty. I mean, this is so, so painful to watch. Especially seeing that a man did all these procedures, that a man can just swoop in and make her beautiful, that he even has the audacity to do just that. This is completely going against the idea that a women is naturally beautiful inside or out. It is feeding into the horrible stereotypes of what a pretty woman should look like; perfect teeth, long hair, perfect smile, etc. That a women needs to look a certain way to be pretty, to be beautiful, and that Kimberly was not pretty in the very beginning. Well, guess what, perfection is nonexistent. This is not the way to make a person feel better about themselves. She may look good after the makeover, but she looked even better before. She just didn't have the confidence to feel that way. This show should have simply helped her gain her confidence. Instead, it made her feel as if she has to be another person, act like another person for people to like her. This is the core of what makes girls all over the world feel terrible about themselves and the way they look. Well, guess what The Swan, all women are beautiful!. The fact that this show was making money off of girls with low self esteem and confidence is just too terrifying to even think about. To be honest, this is something out of a nightmare.
