    🇬🇧 I hope you enjoyed a walk around Kraljevo! What are your thoughts on foreigner's opinions of Serbia? Are you living in a fake-positivity fantasy land and want everything to be portrayed positively or do you understand that not everywhere is paradise and you respect honest opinions?
    You can check out my previous video from Kraljevo and Žiča Monastery by visiting my playlist!

      People just want to live normal... Other thing is that "normal" is not always objective, sometime its subjective vision of person. Any case, nobody want to be torture in nacionalistic and poor country without bright future. Problem of Serbia(like many other EXYU countries) is that positive changes coming very slowly.

    Kraljevo is a interesting place, among other cities it's probably a sole example where in the centre there wasn't a medieval town or a fortress, and even during the industrialization nothing, it was pretty much a village, all the time untill changing the name from Karanovac to Kraljevo, not sure about the year tho, but yet again Kraljevo is on a crossroad of many most important things to visit made by medieval Serbia, as is Zica, Studenica, Maglic, you have Cacak and Kragujevac nearby, and the city itself is on 2 rivers, that sets a solid foundation to making a city there from what was a classic village, not really any history in the city centre before ww1, small bits only, it had a important role in WW2 and the city centre of kraljevo is i think the first actually fully planned centre in all of Serbia ( all buildings are modern none are old as in other places ) it does have it's average aspect to it and thats just the way it is

    I'm from Serbia and I've been to Kraljevo only once, I got the same feeling as you did. It is a nice city to live a calm life tho, far from the traffic and chaos you get in Belgrade. I live in Belgrade for over 10 years now and I can't stand it anymore 🙄 I'd rather live in a small city or a village but there's no chance for me finding a job in my profession there so I'm forced to live in Belgrade. My favourite place in Serbia for now is Novi Sad. Btw I love how you're talking to cats and calling them angels 🥰 life just wouldn't be same without them. My heart breaks every time I see a stray cat, that's why I always carry a bag with cat food with me everywhere I go 😅 you got a new Serbian subscriber ✌️

    Honestly, I kind of like it. I'm not sure I'd choose to visit, and admittedly it does look pretty 'average'. But living in the middle of nowhere, anywhere with signs of life appeal to me. There is something very calming about watching these walkabouts. I liked the graffiti and the residental blocks the most though. 🤣 Thanks David. ❤

    I actually absolutely love Kraljevo. As a Belgrader, it's one of my favorite towns in the 50-80k range. I always like it when I see a nice urban core in the center of a city and that is what Kraljevo has. The central square, I mean circle, is great, the atmosphere is vibrant whenever I went there, the parks are nice, Žiča is of course very close and so is Vrnjačka Banja. Two thumbs up from me.

    Well, like you sad, it is perfectly ok not to like one place but in order to feel one location basically you need to stay a bit more. Personally, Kraljevo to me is one of the most nicest cities in Serbia. No it doesn't have old buildings and also it is more dirty than when I lived there but you didn't cover some of the nicest areas which is next to Ibar river and park across main city church (not the one you visited). Still the story regarding Kraljevo is about its people, like in any other city, and also regarding things that you can visit by car within half an hour maximum such as Zica, Studenica, Stolovi mountain, Lopatnica, Meljanica...it is a perfect city for someone above 50 years trust me and definately one of the best in Serbia.

    Filming Kraljevo on Sunday morning (??) when the city is sleeping and relaxing after Saturday nightout gave you totally wrong impression.
    You got impression of dull, average city which Kraljevo is not.
    One needs to spend at least several days in Kraljevo to feel the vibe of the city.
    Have you been to k next to Ibar river? Or to Vrnjacka banja spa nearby? Or on promenade on Saturday evening? Or to any of the clubs during weekend?
    Krusevac is indeed nice but saying that Krusevac is better than Kraljevo is not true.
    In all polls Kraljevo is among top 10 most beautiful cities is Serbia and usually on second place, second to Novi sad alone.
    Kraljevo women are according to all polls most beautiful in Serbia along with Novi sad women. Kraljevo guys are usually tall and handsome.
    But, the city is usually sleeping in Sunday morning, except people who go to church etc. I am christian myself, but I udually go to church on big holidays and when I want.
    Have you had anybody from Kraljevo to take you to some places such as theater, cinema, clubs, cafes, sports arena, athletic stadium, restaurants...?
    Revisit Kraljevo during summer 2023.

    • @davidostrowski679
      @davidostrowski679  ปีที่แล้ว

      I work Monday to Friday so weekends were the only option. I filmed on Saturday night but it was equally as deserted. The promenade was just full of junkies asking for money when I was there. Vrnjačka Banja yes the previous video was from there as I said at the beginning

    • @boxy1375
      @boxy1375 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@davidostrowski679 The promenade of Kraljevo was full of junkies asking money from you? The Kraljevo promenade was deserted on Saturday evening?
      I do not think it was evening, it must have been late into the night when people already entered cafes, clubs, taverns... I assume it was relatively cold evening since it was late october.
      I will give you an example. I am relatively often in Germany. When I go to, Offenbach for example, on Sunday it is TOTALLY different city than during week.
      In Serbia is simillar. Late Saturday night and Sunday morning people are sleeping, spending time with families etc.
      I highly recommend you revisit Kraljevo during next spring and especially summer. Then and only then you can feel Kraljevo.
      During spring and especially summer late afternoons and evenings promenade in Kraljevo is often more packed with people than some seaside cities

    • @davidostrowski679
      @davidostrowski679  ปีที่แล้ว

      It was late afternoon and sunset. Nothing was open and the only people down there were homeless. Yeah I know Sundays are always quiet in Serbia but filming during the week is not an option and also evenings due to darkness/poor lighting. I can't remember if it was this video or the last one but I mentioned I filmed a 30 minute walkaround video around 7pm on Saturday and gave up because it was just empty streets like a ghost town. Probably just a quiet weekend I guess.
      I always get comments about Summer but as a full-time traveller I can't be everywhere in Summer and some videos are filmed in winter. I'm normally in Mexico during the summer
      The first year I came to Serbia (2019) was in the summer (I think 2020 as well when I was in Niš) but I'm always an autumn/winter person when it comes to European countries! 2021 and this year were both based in Užice around October
