In mamy places of southern Greece people tend to grow houseplants outdoors! In regions such as Peloponnese or the islands of Crete and Rhodos , yards are full of houseplants such as sansivieria, dracaena marginata, aloe vera and many other types of aloes, jade plants, monstera , ficus benjamin and many more! It is really exciting to have frost free places and grow all this plants freely in your garden and in pots inside your house... I live in North Greece where my zone is 8B and every time of the year like today I have to wrap my plants with winter cloth protection or struggle to find a space for them into the house! Your video is epic and so informative! Thank you!
I love how all the plants are just casually outdoors(the monstera and philos esp.) i am from the PH and i think we have the same climate with colombia but the plant trade here is too competitive and greedy. It goes as far as ppl poaching alocasias, philos and pothos in the wild( mountains and forests) Loved this video and u just earned a sub from me :)
I freaking loved this plant video it’s the best I’ve found so far. Living in Arizona by way of California I now see and appreciate why we have the gardeners we have and are sold all these beautiful plants. If I ever see a Gardner maintaining a beautiful garden from south or Central America I’m sure going to take her time to have a lovely conversation on plants with him for sure and show my appreciation
@@plantvibrations they don’t have that climate before/ I making a possible way to Change where I live & now this finally happened started to growing up in ground! First I growing giant trees ! After is starting to change 🤩 I see you live in PA
I'm so glad that I found your channel, this video is greatness. I have a large deck and I'd love to put more plants out during the spring and summer, I live in a majority hot climate in TX. The plants that you started the video with first are the very same that I want to put outdoors.
Lovely video you shared. I love the tropical vibe. My neighbor was throwing away a huge split leaf philodendron and I can't wait to get it in the ground.
I would be in awe if I walked that street. I really want to mention how resilient the Monstera Deliciosa. I’m not a plant expert, I’m a medium/beginner gardener, but my Monstera is growing so beautifully. It’s my favorite plant out of the 15 or so that I own. It’s given me like 7 new leaves in 4 months and it just keeps going. Would definately recommend getting one, it’s very easy so far.
When he said is you don’t have a philodendron ……I felt that in my soul!!! I have so many plants and not one all because I don’t know which one I want to but first!😩
Loved this video! I'm new to owning plants. My one and only right now is a golden pothos my mom gave me around 5 months ago, it's grown amazingly! I'm in the southeast USA so it's even easier here, as it's never under 74 degrees or 60% humidity inside my house. Some of the leaves are getting huge, I love seeing it grow! I want more plants, but I'm waiting until i buy a house (within the next 2 years) so that i can choose the right plants for the light my future home will have. So for now i really spoil my only child pothos with weekly intensive showers before rub downs with neem oil. 😂
Shows croton. K, cool. Walks away. *Are we just gonna ignore the beautiful purple ti plant next to it?!?* Also missed the asparagus fern hiding in the snake plants, oh, and I guess the bird of paradise is considered a houseplant in most regions too. I dunno though, I live in California, so we use those both as landscape plants here.
lol i had to use discretion and talk only about the ones i liked most, because there was infinite different plants growing there. i would have loved to do an hour long video, and maybe next time im there i will!
Great video - but I was really waiting for the how to grow these types of plants , especially the monstera , outside! Shade, full sun etc! I’m a Brit living in northern Portugal so can grow a lot more things outside! Btw, here that ‘snake plant’ is called St. George’s Sword - whereas in the U.K. it’s known as ‘Mother-in-law’s Tongue’ ….for obvious reasons 😂
Very cool I like the Calethia..do you take them inside when the temp drops? You did a good job walking the sidewalk and giving us a tour loved it. Very informative 🙂👍
i didn't do a good job showing in the video, but you need to include a node in the cutting that you place in water. that is where the roots will grow from.
@@plantvibrations lol I was hoping you were gonna show how to propagate with leaves only. Thought I'd came up on something new. Thank you for responding
@@lilwigglesandleaves so would it be kind like those sansevieria Cylindrica cuttings that are just a leaf that never grows but some how stays alive for a while?
That’s why they classified to Thaumatophyllum instead of Philodendron, because they have hard trunk. Thaumatophyllum bipinnatifidum, syn. Philodendron bipinnatifidum 14:30 that gloriosum is hiding! Hahaha
It was a cool video but these plants are not in their natural environment. I was thinking that you were going to show us the plants in the jungle, more or less. 🤨
Gosh. I dont know that I've ever seen these in nature. Beautiful ❤️
Thank you! Cheers!
that mostera is so gorgeous ! that rooot system looks killer
this neighbourhood is so nice!
I inherited an mostera that is 60 years old. Love seeing them in nature. Thanks for the tour.
Wow that’s incredible!

That is amazing!! I love hearing that! I hope one day I will be able to live in a warm enough region to grow many of my favorite houseplants outside!
Oh I love t see these plants in their nature environment and thank you so much for filming this!
You are so welcome!

aww that makes me sad to hear about poaching, i know that is a real threat to the plant life :(
It's looks like paradise! I wish I can move there and walk around all this beautiful plants, truly amazing, thank you!
You ought to take a vacation and see them!

Wow I like big plants.I love all of them like the garden.tnx
Great seeing these plants paired together in the garden. How I pair them in my house.
So beautiful, I wish I can have them all!❤️
Me tooooi
Such a beautiful place!
It really is!
this deserves SO MUCH MORE views!
Heheh thank youuuu
We have that in Naples Florida I created already in ground in my backyard garden & plus more rare exotic!

I was hoping you would have eventually pointed out the bird of paradise 😭 every time you walked past it I was like 😭😭😭😭😭😭🤣
ahhhh shucks! my bad!
Absolutely awesome video, Thanks
It was so fun to make!
PSA: You cannot just take a leaf off of a pothos and get roots you have to have a node.
Yes i misspoke
Thanks!
Thanks 🙏🙏🙏

So... I just figured out that I'm moving to Columbia. Now to tell my family..... 🌻
haha yes, the plant life throughout the country is so vast and varied
You must have meant British Columbia because Colombia is a whole different country :)
Thank you very much for this video!
glad you enjoyed it!
Hello Devin, Colombia is so beautiful, so nice plants, a lot of greetings from Serbia - Europe !
Yes colombia is gorgeous! greetings!

Awesome video bro thanks. But you walked right by that giant bromeliad and totally ignored it 😂
Haha yahhh there were a few others i glazed by too lol
Great info bro 👍
Thanks for watching!!
i'm moving to columbia now!!!
hahaha yessss
Is there something I'm missing with taking leaves from pothos and monstera for propagation purposes. I've only had luck with stem cuttings.
i didn't do a good job showing in the video, but you need to include a node in the cutting that you place in water. that is where the roots will grow from.
@@plantvibrations lol I was hoping you were gonna show how to propagate with leaves only. Thought I'd came up on something new. Thank you for responding
You can however take a leaf from a hoya and you will get roots. You may or may not get a vine though
@@lilwigglesandleaves so would it be kind like those sansevieria Cylindrica cuttings that are just a leaf that never grows but some how stays alive for a while?
Hey , will you tell me how to propagate the monstera from the wild for indoors ??
I have a great video demonstrating how to propagate monstera
they look so much better in nature than in our sad little pot
Yes they do!!
Somehow I overlooked this video.. Had no idea Sansevieria are now part of the Dracaena genus !
Yes I’m still intrigued by that change!
Thanks 🙏
❤new sub so happy I found your channel
thanks for joining the crew :)
Thank you for upload na ka
Welcome 😊
Nices plans
I wash I iCloud live there love tropical climate
The philodendron with the split leaves isn’t actually a philodendron. It’s called thaumatophyllum seloum( bipinnatifidum)
Yes, previously listed as Philodendron bipinnatifidum
This is the comment I was looking for I wasn't sure but as soon as he said here's a philodendron I said are you sure
how do u feel about shrubs in the genus Erythroxylum as house plants?
lol, i dont have any experience
i wouldnt say outside front garden of an apartment complex in their "natural environment" but super cool to see outside in bunches like that !
hahah i guess i meant growing outside in the soil rather than in pots inside. but a lot of those plants are native to the surrounding environs!
When did the name change from sansevaria to draceana? Sorry for the spelling? But those are two different plant species..
Snake plants are now a part of Dracaena as of about a year ago! I don’t like the change, it’s confusing to me
Also, Sansevieria and Dracaena are genus
Woah free plants lol
Haha
6:43 walking past the Ravenala on the right without saying anything :(
Hahah that travelers palm was one of my favorites in the area! But i was focused on the more common plants in the video
what is the climate like in Medellín?
very pleasant. about 70-80F all year round
👌
Are you in Colombia? It looks like Medellín, where I live
this was filmed in el poblado!
I believe that is a philodendron Xanadu! Split leaf philodendron
:)
5:24this is not a Philodendron, it's a Thaumatophyllum.
Yes, commonly known as the tree Philodendron
That’s why they classified to Thaumatophyllum instead of Philodendron, because they have hard trunk.
Thaumatophyllum bipinnatifidum, syn. Philodendron bipinnatifidum
14:30 that gloriosum is hiding! Hahaha
awesome, thanks for clarifying the reason for the name change!
The common name of Tradescantia is wandering Jew
🤦♂️
The tactical "I forgot".
Well played.
Yeah, people are too uptight. In Hebrew we call it the same, Yehudi noded.
@0:54 you said that so confidently when it's not true at all 🤔
Yes I know! Include the node!
Natural habitat, and then you're in the city,?
Well like the climate they’re native to
U ignored the lady palm… sad
It’s a beauty!
Let’s be real, you didn’t forget the common name for Tradescantia.
hahahhaha
Lol
Growing mine in Jerusalem Israel and it never bothered me 😂In fact we call it the same in Hebrew.
Can't grow a plant from one pothos leaf. It needs part of the stem along with the leaf
Yes you are correct!
zz plant outside?
Yes!
Dude you can’t prop pothos like that🤣🤣
It’s not even called pothos in the first place.
🤣🤣🤦♂️
In india most of plants wil be used as a food by cow 🤣🤣🤣
lolol
Not trying to be a hater and i mean no disrespect but there is quite a few misinformation in this video
Would love to know which parts so I can know the correct information
It was a cool video but these plants are not in their natural environment. I was thinking that you were going to show us the plants in the jungle, more or less. 🤨
Sorry! I should have just said outside.
