Thank you, Irene, you're back! Fascinating video of Jim Thompson garden which we visited a decade ago. We look forward for more of your visit to fascinating gardens in Southeast Asia. Your videos increase our knowledge on the names of the plant species you feature, thank you.
Helllo Fred! Yes good to be back, and glad you enjoyed this one. I had been to Bangkok more than 50 times now and this is the first time I made it to Jim's place 😅😄
True words... One nice garden can fill liveliness to any boring house... Same way any castle without a garden feels bored to my eyes.... 😊thanks for this video.... 🙏
Never heard of this guy before, really intriguing and sad mystery to his disappearance. Thank you for the garden tour and house tour, we have many of those tropical plants here in South Florida.💕🌺🌴
Watching your videos always makes me want to travel so bad, Irene. You look like such a lovely person, I really hope to meet you some day. Lots of love from Paris!
I like the "Leafing Around" videos, because it is a guarantee that we will see a beautiful garden with a large number of exotic plants, in harmony with the environment and in this case the incredible homes are attached to the garden perfectly.Jim Thompson knew how to make the most of the construction of his incredible home and put it in symbiosis with nature.
Finally a new video! I just want to tell you that your channel has inspired me to rebuild my late mother's garden. It's at the heart of a 3-hectare farm, so it's a pretty big undertaking. Exhausting yet the most rewarding.
Oh wow....this is the best thing I've read all day! So glad you undertook this monumental task. 😊 so much for sharing and sending lots of blessings to you and your garden!
Thank you so much for sharing this exquisite home and its garden. I cracked up when you said "the video is not sponsored so I can say whatever I want"🤣😂
Sa-Wa Dee-Krup !!! Jim Thompson Garden/Museu in itself worth the trip to Bangkok, Its priceless. I was luck to visit there. Bangkok, and Thailand is a fantastic country to visit. That garden its amazing. Ones again you did a beautiful job in present that. Thanks you/Kob-Khun-Krup
What a beautiful house and inspirating garden!!! I like so much your great comments in your videos too ! I found a lot of inspiration in your videos to make my garden more lush with tropical notes, even if I live in France. There is always some plant resisting to cold temperature (some costus for example). And for the fish pond : it is so easy: You need a good filtering system (to clean once a week) and fishes eat the mosquitos larva. You dont will have mosquitos really! Sure that one day, you will have your fish pond 😉Thank you !!!
Fantastic I seen this on Gardeners world here in England. Remember bananas are not trees they are classed as a herbs , trees have bark Google if you are unsure 😊
Thx Irene for posting this vid...after a while and came with one of my fave spot in bkk...🙂🙏🏻. Jim Thompson's house really such a masterpiece in term of Architectural, Interior & most importantly it's garden which can bring us to the feeling of tropical forest in crowd of the city. What a hidden gem...❤🙏🏻
beautiful videos, real footage and you even sharing your graden knowlege, I can tell you doing this with love and passion. thanks for sharing this wonderful experience. ( I am so sick of youtube keep recomment me channel doing nothing but putting AI pictures one after another during the whole video long and saying clueless thing )
Crotons are so nice tho! So many nice varieties are coming out of thailand. The common varieties are easy going and easy to ask for a cutting since its not expensive 😅
awesome video .. please come to sri lanka and document jeffory bhawas lunuganga garden and bevis bhawas garden. these two gardens is so remarkably beautiful and it will be also epic garden tour like this one
At 5:16, the beautiful hanging plants are not epiphyllum. They are rhipsalis. The one with "chains" hanging down is Rhipsalis paradoxa, a very underrated plant and one of my favorites. :-)
Our water feature at our side garden is a big drum… then i have a shower installed it with hanging plants Sowe canhave a short bath there during summer days😂😂😂
Always make a stop here when am in BKK cos I do enjoy the garden. Amidst the gorgeous landscaping, the interesting collections he had, the illustrious history however...is the overtly kinda creepy fondness he seemed to have for little boys (yes, if you do the house tour and pay attention to his personal quarters, and who sleeps near his room at all times.....) 🙈 disturbing actually. And check out the items around the room too.
What would be you recommendation for fruit trees suitable for a corner lot with some land? Apologies for the newbie question, I do check out your videos for ideas and inspiration
Hi! Sorry not quite into fruits...perhaps what you'd like to eat first of all! While edibles are great, do be wary they will attract pest that is after your fruits and so place your precious ornamental ones further away from the fruit tree.
Could you please tell your educational journey, so how you ended up in a garden designer, because I am looking forward to become a landscape designer,, please reply😊
I always fancy a real "dark mystery garden" with no regular green leaves, no regular cheerful flowers, and no light-colored variegation, but mostly consisting of plants with dark metallic and velvety leaves, often in exotic, mysterious strappy or spotted camouflage patterns, menacing-looking giant pitcher plants, and fluorescent and bioluminescent plants decorated in between.
@@leafing.around I just imagine arranging all the mysterious, scary, exotic, other-worldly looking plants into a garden, but don't have the knowledge and experience to make it happen, but you can actually make it happen. Can't wait to see your version!
