- I thought I'd share this but the head turning and mouth movement do not work. This is a Christmas version, we also had an everyday version. We had a contract to make the doll, I made a deal with his agent. Frank was already dead. The agent called me and told me his daughter Tina did not want to make the doll. She called me and kept saying, "please don't make a doll of my daddy." I couldn't do it if she didn't want it. It's a shame because it probably would have been one of the best sellers in the popular line.
My mom is a huge Frank Sinatra fan, if this was released, she'd definitely buy them lol

The original owner of the everyday version told me that it sings That’s Life and New York, New York. He spent a large portion of his life collecting Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin merchandise and owned the website where the picture of that Frank Sinatra was found. He told me a similar story of how the Sinatra estate did not want a doll made. Apparently, they bought all of the other prototypes of Frank Sinatra from Gemmy just so they could destroy it. Whoever bought the everyday version from the Deans and Franks website likely owns the only one in existence.
That's an interesting story, especially the part where the prototypes were being bought and destroyed. I wonder how much the only existing prototype sold for, and how much it would go for on the public market.

It's a shame this was never released, but I can understand the family not wanting a singing doll of their lost family member.

A huge shame. Im a fan of the pop culture series and i always thought "they shouldv'e made a gemmy animated frank sinatra" realizing it was made but never released makes me depressed

This is awesome! There are many repair videos online from other collectors if you want to get the head turning mechanism and the mouth moving again
I don’t think that’s a good idea, the head may be resin, if you tried to get the staples out and get the mouth off it could easily shatter.
That is the only way of fixing them though

It's a nice piece that would've been a GREAT addition to the Pop Culture series if it was released. But then again, if Frank Sinatra was still alive at the time of this item's production, it still probably would be canned because of the Sinatra family being skeptical about Frank Sinatra merch. So I guess it's a good thing this one didn't get released, otherwise Gemmy Industries would've faced a VERY dire lawsuit.

@@theholidayshow1026 he is saying that a long time ago, when this was being designed and was supposed to be released, one of frank sinatras family members asked them not to make it so it was never produced.

He is the one who made it he used to work for gemmy. The reason why it isn’t fixed is because the prototype heads are made of a different material so it can be easily damaged if not very careful. The material used is sort of similar to the material they used on the Gemmy big head monsters head and when I tried to fix the head turning problem on mine the head started falling apart. It’s like a mache type material

@@codyryan9789 Ah, that's right. I do recall the original photo of it that was released on the Gemmy Wiki many years ago being pulled from that site. I'm curious what it was sold for, but I would guess a pretty penny.
