I've heard it in Russian and they left out some important things and changed the inflection. Such as changed when Putin said Mr Lesin was killed...NBC said "Perished" ... Let me clear this up for you - another video released by NBC has this bit in it I heard it. Lesin probably wasn't killed due to Putin's wishes but he did fall out with other allies of Putin and it's possible Lesin simply knew too much and was thrown under the bus. Lesin was violently killed according to autopsy reports. Furthermore, Lesin was instrumental in setting up Putin's media apparatus in Russia. The danger being is that he could've been too influential to Putin so other allies of Putin had him removed - they also likely did this with Sobchak in 2000. With regards to the other killings such as Nemstov and Politskovskaya they were likely to have been desired by Putin. My main reasoning is as follows - Putin wanted Nemstov out of the way in case his reporting and protests posed a threat to him. He also was a unifying figure within the Russian opposition - he may not have been popular in 2015, at the time of his death, but in 5-10 years he could've been a real challenge to Putin. Also, his killing would've been recorded on the Kremlin's 24/7 security cameras which cover the bridge in which Nemstov lost his life. Conveniently, the cameras were either turned off or recordings were erased. The only authority to have access to such recordings were the FSB or the Presidential Administration. However, a camera from a TV station did capture some footage - noticeably a truck appears to cover the killings and drives suspiciously slowly at the time of Nemstov's assasination. All these things point to the fact that this was an orchestrated murder - one which was executed by the FSB under the orders of President Vladimir Putin. Enough said.

Let me clear this up for you - another video released by NBC has this bit in it I heard it. Lesin probably wasn't killed due to Putin's wishes but he did fall out with other allies of Putin and it's possible Lesin simply knew too much and was thrown under the bus. Lesin was violently killed according to autopsy reports. Furthermore, Lesin was instrumental in setting up Putin's media apparatus in Russia. The danger being is that he could've been too influential to Putin so other allies of Putin had him removed - they also likely did this with Sobchak in 2000. With regards to the other killings such as Nemstov and Politskovskaya they were likely to have been desired by Putin. My main reasoning is as follows - Putin wanted Nemstov out of the way in case his reporting and protests posed a threat to him. He also was a unifying figure within the Russian opposition - he may not have been popular in 2015, at the time of his death, but in 5-10 years he could've been a real challenge to Putin. Also, his killing would've been recorded on the Kremlin's 24/7 security cameras which cover the bridge in which Nemstov lost his life. Conveniently, the cameras were either turned off or recordings were erased. The only authority to have access to such recordings were the FSB or the Presidential Administration. However, a camera from a TV station did capture some footage - noticeably a truck appears to cover the killings and drives suspiciously slowly at the time of Nemstov's assasination. All these things point to the fact that this was an orchestrated murder - one which was executed by the FSB under the orders of President Vladimir Putin. Enough said.
