I have just bought a 1955 Morris to restore. My father had a Morris when I was a kid. Have watched heap of your videos they are great. I have learnt lots of tips. Thanks Scott Australia
Your attitude regarding this restoration is amazing, as shown by your willingness to tackle things you’ve never done before. Inspiration actually......carry on, and be well. A fan from the U.S.
It must be a desirable classic. Some less desired parts will still be made...after you order them. Kind of like my 1999 Corolla getting a new Toyota mount. They said it would be 6 weeks. The part that came? Literally brand new! Made to order!
well, I think in Germany in tiny little hidden spots there are stills some dudes and dudettes that also repair and rebuild but I dont know how hard it is to get the spare parts! :-) Have an awesome week... Sunshine
Cost on the parts wasn't do bad then, shipping is the killer unfortunately but looking forward to your panel placing and welding uploads interesting times ahead I think.✌peace
Before you start cutting i would tack weld some bracing on so that side of the car keeps it shape otherwise you will never get it back close enough. Can't wait to see how well these panels all go in. Jerry from Bullshitkorner was having a fight to the death with his chevy Bell Air but those panels you got look a lot better made than the panels he was using. It's a shame it was airmail only. I bet you could have got those snail mailed to New Zealand for £20. It just would have taken 6 weeks to get there. Oh and i would much rather live in NZ mate. I'm still bitter and twisted about how little rust was on your VR6 A3 Golf. Cars are more rusty here after 4 years than that thing was!
The bracing is hsppening today hopefully. Its all still nice and true so far but I'll do my best to keep it that way. Sea freight isn't much cheaper for that size package. Better value for huge stuff but it's just expensive all round. Haha yeah the VR6 is in beautiful condition 😎
We get ripped off with postage costs here in Ireland aswell. Those panels sound like heavy gauge steel, not the tinfoil crap used in modern cars. Do some practice rust treatment on the bits you've cut off And leave them out in the weather to see how they get on....
The shipping cost was pretty reasonable for the size of the package. I've paid more for less plenty of times! They're nice and solid and hopefully I won't blow too many holes through them when welding. That's a great idea about testing the rust proofing. I shall give it a go!
@@paulfowell5253 it's a Project Farm worthy idea. Actually...he may already have a video showing the best products dealing with rust. Check that out before the expense and time of your own experiment.
Have to post this twice.....as others have said, weld bracing onto the car. With so much removed it can alter critical dimensions. I.E. doors will never fit properly again. Professionals use jigs we don't have access to.

That you can still get body parts for that car is amazing. It's going to be a great help.

pretty much every part is available at a reasonable cost and from multiple suppliers
I thought the same bout getting them parts... it is a shame we do not restore more older cars... :-/
I like your logic regards your costs.
thanks. Not much money in these cars as nice as they are
Right decision to get the panels mate it will save so much time, I can get the step panel if you haven’t sort anything out yet 👍👍👍👍
Definitely mate. I'll be ordering lots more parts before I'm done so will get the missing bits eventually. Cheers 😎
Really looking forward to the cutting and welding videos. No pressure :-)
Haha I feel like the pressure is on 🤣
Loved it mate😁👍👏👏👏
Thats Awesome ! And not a bad price for a Classic car . Im really surprised parts can be got . Your doing it right !
Thanks. I'm trying to do a good job 😊
Thats where i got all my parts from for my build. You are going good keep at it cheers
Very happy with them. Cheers
Hi, where are you up to with the Morris Minor?
well, I think in Germany in tiny little hidden spots there are stills some dudes and dudettes that also repair and rebuild but I dont know how hard it is to get the spare parts! :-) Have an awesome week... Sunshine
great price for all the panels thumbs up and shared
thanks buddy. They were reasonably priced
Good price on the panels, gonna be a solid little motor once there all fitted
Definitely. Should be a nice car once finished. Cheers
Is your Minor a Kiwi built one?
It sure is. It's a Complete Knock Down (CKD)
Sometimes you may be better off trimming the patch panel down to only replace as much as necessary...Just saying...Pretty fair price for those parts.
Definitely a good option. I dunt want to make too much work for myself. Cheers Zig
My Great Great Uncle was James Whinray, as in Whinray Scenic Reserve, near Gisborne, NZ. Does that qualify me to escape miserable England?
You're welcome to visit Clean, Green New Zealand anytime 😊
Window rattler looks good 😋
it's bloody good! Warms the place up nicely 😎 Will come in useful when you help me weld this shit together 😂

I am so far behind I'm going to have to go back and other videos and tell you what you are doing wrong before I can start catching up🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Evil. 😤🤣
just cut and paste from the other comments 😂😂

I agree. Needs bracing to keep it's proper dimensions.

Forgetting to order one thing... isn't that always the case! =)
I hate it when that happens... D'oh!
There will be many more orders 😬
That seems very reasonable to me.
Very reasonable and should make life a lot easier
I live in the UK and would much prefer to live in New Zealand.
Postage is a small price to pay!
Both places have their advantages :)
Id love to be living in the UK too 😂😂 only o one more panel to order , I bet its $100 quid :)
Really? 😲
@@rheidtech Subtle sarcasm eh :)
@@SteveRobReviews lol
there will be plenty of other parts orders so no big deal. I think I've got enough to be getting on with 😉
Lol. Iam in liverpool UK, you'd spend more on panels through total rot, love moggy work 👍👍
Very true. Cheers!
even then, when you work out the materials and labour time to make them you're still quids in :)
definitely. It's a great starter classic to practice restoration skills without too much of an investment
You really can get everything! They only make front fenders for the crx 😂👎😰
It's amazing. Everything is available including all kinds of upgrades. It's a great classic to start with

Good idea about the "practice rust treatment" I would be interested in the results as well.

As you know there would be nothing left of the car had it lived in the U.K. 😂😂😂😂
Haha very true 🤣
No i wouldnt...😲😉👍👍🌄
try a sheet metal place sometimes they can fold up some of the easy panels
great price on the other repair panels thought they'd be a lot dearer
Most of the remaining panels I need to make are flat. The repair panels were great value
That's inexpensive for almost half a classic car. Imagine if it were a Rolls Royce of the same age.

Great value and yes I'll get onto the bracing today. Cheers
