    Its coming along. Dont forget that panels dont always need to be welded. Panel bonding is widely used in body shops. Protects better from future rust and hold just as strong if not stronger that plug welds .

      I'm sure it is widely used but we have strict rules on repair and that would require certification or a headache at least as it's different from factory. Cheers!

    My moggie (same colour!) has been in the garage waiting for a very similar repair for a year now... It's great to see you go through it, gives me a bit more confidence!

      Apart from the thin area it welded pretty nicely. Cheers

    looking good
    i put a strip of copper under areas where the metals a bit thin helps stop it burning away also acts as a heat sink to help reduce warping
    when you go to refit the doors start with your rear door and work forward easier to get the gaps right

    • @Badgertronix
      @Badgertronix  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the tips. I managed to fill the gap with weld in this case. Cheers

    Getting optimistic at the success of this restoration. Also good to see the welder is coping with the cheese that Morris was making its cars out of in 1958.

    • @Badgertronix

      It may not be the prettiest or quickest restoration but it will get there. Aiming for as much of the work possible to be done by me in the shed so I can call it bodged not bought 🤣

    Couple of tips, when doing the final trial fit, clamp the new piece in place and cut through the new panel and old panel together, it'll give you a really good edge on both to fit and butt weld. There's also Weld Through Etch Primer you could use. Always nice to see new metal going back in. 👍

    • @Badgertronix
      @Badgertronix  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the tips. The next panel is much harder to fit and has bolt holes that need to line up. I've painted it in weld through primer already. Cheers

    I love your vids, j actually watch Pete c. Pete Anderson and Jason Hill. And couple more. Not many turn down volume when grinding and high level noise. Ear phones in while wife is busy and you get a massive blast of tool work. Please mute of low on edit. Just on high noise work, great work 👍👍👍👍
