That weird patch in the floor just might be from repair work. If they had subfloor pipes running water for heat, there may have been a leak, which would mean the concrete floor would have to be dug up in order to repair it. Fantastic space! Incredibly sad to see it go.
Great example of upper class 1960 built house here in Australia, not my era of homes I go for, I like the Art Deco period but there IS something about this one I don't mind. Thanks for the tour Ethan.
Man, that home should have been saved just for its aesthetic! That mid-century architecture and style isn't likely to be repeated ever again. Not because it isn't desirable, because it's just not cost effective for developers to put that kind of effort into 'tract homes' these days. I'll tell you, Ethan: If you dig this style, get out to Palm Springs CA and see all of those homes. A mid-century modern lover's dream!
I think it’s the oddest layout ever but cool house just the same. I would have loved to have seen how they positioned their furniture in the living room. Thank you for the tour.😊
I am betting the cement slab floor was dug up because of a water line or sewage leak. I can never understand why folks want to invent some spooked vibe. The kitchen sink being stainless steel is not orriginal. I do hope they salvage the light fixtures and the blue bathroom fixtures. The black bathroom is not orriginal, but very cool none the less. This is my era. I lived then, which makes me OLD. It is a shame that tis will be torn down, by clearly it requires too much work to be restored. Thank you Ethan for this great walk down memory lane. Blessings to you Ethan and please stay safe and healthy. 😁❤
If I'm not mistaken, black bathrooms were becoming popular in the early 1990s? I agree with you saying that it was most likely a plumbing issue that caused the foundation to be dug up in that spot and have fresh concrete. The odd thing about it isn't the date but IS the name. I'm not familiar with them usually putting a name with the replacement concrete. I assume it's not nefarious, just odd lol
Thanks, Ethan! Really enjoyed this explore. The house I grew up in was built in 1961 and similar to this one. It's still standing, however, the new owners have done a lot of renovations. What used to be our garage is now a bedroom! That concrete slab was weird though. Maybe someone buried a family pet there ... or a time capsule.
I really dig this early 60s craftsman home interior design. It's a shame these get so increasingly rare. I have a soft spot for houses with textural walls and built in features.
I grew up in a house thst was built in 1956 - my Mom lived there until September 2001 when she moved! You can across a Michigan wolverines which tells me a lot as our house was nothing like this at all! But then we lived in Phoenix - probably why! Only very old houses had wood, floors - houses in my time had concrete floors and very little carpet (only in living and dining rooms)! It was a,so one story - no new houses with a second story were built till the 80s! Just thought it might help you to know that not all houses, especially at that time and in certain states didn’t look like this at all!
This cool mid-century house is so worth saving. Frank Lloyd Wright had lots of built ins in his designs. So this house is so inspired by that famous architect. What a great find! That is such an amazing blue in the bathroom! Thanks for sharing!
Ethan, you had me at 42 seconds--you said i'd love it and i truly did. From the light fixture & slate floor at the entrance, the cute vintage bathroom upstairs (and downstairs), the pastels EVERYWHERE (your hat matched the house!), the 'moon' lights (i'll call them that 'til i die because that's what they look like when they're lit), and those breeze blocks outside!! *swoon!* 🥰Plus it was so nice to see you in such good spirits! Thank you so much for taking us along... take care, and have a good night! ☺
The 1956 house I grew up in has the laundry room not attached to our house - it was called the utility room and my Dad installed a sink for the washer to drain the water (Mom had one of those washers with a ringer attached at first! The utility room did share the roof with the covered parking - not a garage! And we didn’t own a drier - had natural sun (and lots of it) to hang wash outside for years!! (Boy did I hate doing that!).
That Kenmore dryer looks like ours from 1997. It lasted until 2019. We still use the matching washer. If it ever breaks and my husband can't fix it I'll just die! Such well made appliances. Fridge still works as well. Basement use for drinks.
Today in CT USA it was almost 70 degrees Fahrenheit. For this time of year it's supposed to be I guessing about upper 40s to lower 50s during the day and at night it's supposed to be upper 30s to lower 40s. Our last frost is supposed to be in May so that why the farmers don't want to plant anything until after the last frost also everything will die.
2:55 Ethan, your mind's wandering a tad much, very likely an underslab plumbing drain repair with the plumber/homeowner showing pride. Have you ever carved your intitials in wet concrete? However, it would be a really cool place to bury crotchety ole Aunt Edna. 👍😉 Anyway, thanks for the tour Ethan, I love mid century design and this one's a beaut! 👍🤠
I grew up in a house built in 1963; it was a split level like this one. Tiny, only about 2000 square feet, family of six. House still standing but has been through many owners since my dad’s passing in 2003. The house not getting the love my family gave it, so sad. Thanks for sharing!
That kitchen, I think no because of the colors reminds of the old “Bewitched” episodes starring Eliza Montgomery. The kitchen colors were like that if I remember correctly. Of course the elongated style brick and built in planters are definitely 60’s all the rage when I was a little girl and based off some ideas of architect Frank Lloyd Wright’s style. Thanks for another unique find. ♥️
This is a very nice house for the 1960. I like the interior brick and all the natural woodwork inside. It's a real 💎 in my opinion. Thanks for sharing this video, Ethan.
I love this house! I love this era of house! It would be a dream to restore to its original beauty. Love the different layout. Original hardwood floors beautiful. Small cute kitchen. Love all the light that would be in this house. Love the stone/brick. Would be so fun to decorate with pops of color. Don’t notice any buckles in the wood floors nor any caved in ceilings. It will be such a shame when there are none of this era’s homes left. It’s different and fun! Thank you Ethan for sharing this small but yet epic home! Take care of yourself, be well and always stay safe!
So fifties/early sixties teeny kitchen. Note the portable dishwasher - built-ins we're not routinely used until later in the (mid-)60's, when kitchens got larger.
Ethan back in the day they call them trilevel homes just as an FYI and the first bathroom that was black tiled that is more modernized. I don’t know when they did it but that is not the colors back in the 1950s for modernized homes even the sink is a modern sink. The toilet is probably the true color of what that bathroom was originally just an FYI and in my opinion, take care and be safe. Thank you for sharing.❤️🫶🏻🤠
This is my new favourite house that you’ve done. I wish I could live here. I always imagine where the Christmas tree would go when I’m watching and how it would look and in that main room next to the fireplace would be perfect. Thank you for the videos Ethan, and for loving places like this.
Hey Ethan great explore 👌 love it ...tiny little kitchen ..love the first staircase with the railings ...Al the natural light from the floor to ceiling windows..fantastic ..good to see your weather has changed ..wish our weather in 🇬🇧 England would .stay safe well and happy 💋
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE That first bathroom with the black tiles, sink, and silver fouled wallpaper. And Dude ALL the built-ins in these mid-century homes. These are the homes that were built to last and is just drenched with character. Something I've wondered about since I started watching your videos. Ok, here's question. In the mid-century homes, in the Bathrooms, ya know how they have the matching toilets, sinks, tub of your fav color, and many had the matching, built in soap dishes, toothbrush holders, and soap holders for the tub. Are those still made and sold in hardware stores/home renovation stores?
LOVE this home! I love the floor to ceiling windows! Love the retro bathrooms! I hope they save the toilets, sinks, & bath tub! Love the entry way & the sreps. Beautiful home. Wish you would of shown the front. I hope it's rehabed & not demolished. Love it! Thanks for sharing.
This home looks as though everything is original from when it was built. I like the kitchen, it is different. The yellow and blue in the bathroom are awesome. Thank you, Ethan, for another great tour. ❤
Trouble is anything will be utter crap - poorly built and with zero style individuality at all. My heart sinks everytime I hear it will demolished. Mid-century is my favourite by far and they’re fast disappearing 😢 great video Ethan
Oh wow this is such a cool find - it’s just amazing! The entrance way, the stairs, wow it’s just amazing. That black bathroom with yellow toilet. Wow wow wow. Check out the living room fireplace. Amazing. Such style. The brickwork is cool imagine it filled with that mid century furniture. The main bathroom! Yellow and pink and blue. AWSOME. So sad this place is going.
I absolutely love these types of homes! So many wonderful features from that era! The floor to ceiling windows, and the amount of natural light they let in, is so awesome! The stone and brick elements throughout are amazing as well! I would love to have a home like this to design and decorate, keeping with the original, but giving it a fresh look. I do have a degree of OCD myself, and I totally get that offset staircase! I have learned over time to manage it a little, a get around some things, but I do think that would probably wear on me a bit, and honestly I don't even like the design of the half wall there. I don't know exactly what I would do, but I'm thinking some redesign of that somehow, and even the open stair concept would be more appealing to me. Cool explore!! 😎✌️
BTW I am wondering if these lines of wall holes, in those coupe of places, had a shelf attached up there at one time. Had the supports there in the wall. . 😁
I think that black pedestal sink is relatively new. The foil (mylar) wall paper I bet is from the 70's. My house was built in the late 70's and it had a lot of mylar paper. I bet the Harvest Gold toilet is original and the prior sink was that color, too. Wonderful video. Thanks, Ethan.

Hey Ethan! What’s up with you!? lol Here for your awesome video! ✌🏻✌🏻✌🏻 That’s a weird spot for a washer n dryer room! Hey I’m a Michigander love the sticker! That black tile looks shiny and new still. This home is built weird with the levels , every room is separate. I hate that small enclosed kitchen 😳😳😳 I don’t like doors to outside in bedrooms! I do apologize if I came off a little grumpy - I don’t like houses like this at all and I’m always amazed at people 30-40 or more years younger that I am really go for this Mid-century everything! I was a young teenager when this house was built in 1960 so I have experience with homes from the middle 50s forward. Appreciate your patience😊
Hey, i just foind your channel yesterday, and i was looking up some ideas for a sims house, and i fojnd your channel, i got to say, thanks so much for all the detail and exploration !!!!! Your one lf the best and k didnt even know this was a thing !! The things we leave behind, I wonder why, taxes, some grandparents died and the kids aren’t interested in paying the property bill? Who put that medicine in the cabinet or the chair by the door and walked out for the final time, never returning and leaving memories of better times, ask yourself what would the walls and timber say if they could? Walking and looking over your shoulder as you do this…..thank you ❤
Those stairs would drive me crazy. Very strange floor plan, in my opinion. It reminds me of a Frank Lloyd Wright wannabe. My favorite part of the house was the original light fixture in the entry way.
That black bathroom isn't original, that yellow toilet is though. The black stuff got popular in the late 1970s, and really took off in the 1980s-90s. Yeah, black is so easy to keep clean lol
Yikes this is creepy - why would someone bury something/someone IN THE HOUSE... for this reason alone, good that the house is being pulled down. Did the owner of the house murder someone and bury his victim there - was he that proud of his crime...? YIKES!
Where do you park your vehicle so people dont know youre exploring? Do you go to like a closeby park? Would you consider exploring an abandonded haunted space and spend overnight?
That weird patch in the floor just might be from repair work. If they had subfloor pipes running water for heat, there may have been a leak, which would mean the concrete floor would have to be dug up in order to repair it. Fantastic space! Incredibly sad to see it go.
not uncommon for names and dates in cement either. Could have been a grandchild wanted it?

I agree with many of your😂 comments as this house has had work done in the 70s at least.
Actually there was a name and a date so this is definitely a burial site.
If I'm not mistaken, black bathrooms were becoming popular in the early 1990s? I agree with you saying that it was most likely a plumbing issue that caused the foundation to be dug up in that spot and have fresh concrete. The odd thing about it isn't the date but IS the name. Fabulous mid-50's brickwork! Love those flat bricks! What a gem of a house.
I really dig this early 60s craftsman home interior design. It's a shame these get so increasingly rare. I have a soft spot for houses with textural walls and built in features.

Beautiful home! Absolutely love the floor to ceiling windows.
So weird to have a laundry room off to the right of the front door.
The 1956 house I grew up in has the laundry room not attached to our house - it was called the utility room and my Dad installed a sink for the washer to drain the water (Mom had one of those washers with a ringer attached at first! I love this style of house! Would be cool to furnish with retro decor!
That house is so cool! I could totally restore it and make it fabulous. No chance, though 😥
I sure hope it won’t be demolished! Beautiful home & awesome video bro! ❤️😘🤘👍
Love the floor and brick in the rec room
I really hope that they will remove all that good wood shelving, laundry room sink, etc. Really good condition, especially the yellow tile!
That Kenmore dryer looks like ours from 1997. It lasted until 2019. We still use the matching washer. If it ever breaks and my husband can't fix it I'll just die! Such well made appliances. Fridge still works as well. Basement use for drinks.
Mid century modern is my absolute favorite. I hate to see all these homes destroyed
Great find Ethan - Liked that house....

I would have been so frecked out seeing that grave!!

Anyway, thanks for the tour Ethan, I love mid century design and this one's a beaut!
👍🤠
Thank goodness he didn't come across a big red paint stain lol
I guess my mind was wandering too.I was thinking the owner was buried there. That he didn't want to leave his beloved home. lol 😂😅😊
Thank you 4 sharing enjoyed it 😊
Awesome! Casa! Thank you bro, GOD BLESS 🙏

Kohler actually brought back some mid century colors. Be prepared for sticker shock!!
Awesome house!!! Love love love the bathroom with yellow tile!!
What an awesome house 🏠. Thanks for sharing 👍 😊 ❤
Interesting house here Ethan. Live that bathroom with the blue tiles. Pretty. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

Great home! Be careful in these 60s style homes. The paint is probably lead based. Love your videos! Be safe!
I loved this one so much. I just watched this again.
Thanks for another great video. Nice home. sorry it will be fgone.
Great video Ethan and thank you for sharing this video with us 👍❤️😎

Beautiful home. It's weird when the laundry room is at
Good morning Ethan. The house is so beautiful. Thank you so much for sharing
Amazing video Ethan. Love this house! What a shame it is going. Thank you for sharing with us!🧡🏘
I fell in love . thanks for sharing. ❤❤ Stay safe love ya
Thank you. The greatest as always
Travis
Im in love with this house. This house renovated would be AMAZING.
BTW I am wondering if these lines of wall holes, in those coupe of places, had a shelf attached up there at one time. Had the supports there in the wall. . 😁
Thumbs up on the video Ethan 👍❤️😎
Absolutely amazing 😍😍😍😍😍
Absolutely beautiful! A damn shame it’s soon to be gone. Thank you Ethan I love it! Show more of these please
Nice house, I wouldn't mind living there. But getting land and building as many houses as possible. That's the name of the game.😊
Jimmy Hoffa is "In The House" :)
Nice! They don't build them like that any more. Simpler times, how I miss them.
Love this house great find 👌
House was so cool !
That is a banger Ethan....thanks
Really cool find Ethan
I really like this house. Would've liked to live here. 😅 enjoyed.
Ethan, you make me laugh! "....My own OCD...". I'm right there with you, bud! I'm also always amazed by just how much some of these very expensive, large old homes from that era....are just....UGLY, inside and out, I'm sorry. This place, like so many others like it, look like a Goddamned doctor's or dentist's office to me....HIDEOUS, IMO!! I want MY house to both LOOK and FEEL like a HOME....thick, plush carpet wall-to-wall, no cold and slippery laminate/hardwood flooring ANYWHERE except maybe the kitchen and baths, I would never want carpet in those areas!
Anyway, give me my traditional Tudor, Mansard, Normany, etc., styled mansions ANY DAY....complete with classy, custom made draperies, elegant wallpaper and NO PAINTED WOODWORK....ANYWHERE, only rich, beautiful, natural WOOD! This place, from the rear elevation shot, looks just like any other commercial office building--i.e., UGLY for a residence, lol. I must be a reincarnation from the Victorian Era...?!
Thank's Ethan for another great house. It is beautiful it has a little kitchen. You are doing a great job. Can't wait for the next video.
My favorite style!! Great explore!!
This house was really cool! 👍
I love the house. Alot of storage too! The kitchen could be bigger but I would not want to make it look all modern
cool and nice love the big windows
Loved this house.
Hey Ethan!
What’s up with you!? lol
Here for your awesome video! ✌🏻✌🏻✌🏻
That’s a weird spot for a washer n dryer room! Hey I’m a Michigander love the sticker! That black tile looks shiny and new still.
This home is built weird with the levels , every room is separate. I hate that small enclosed kitchen 😳😳😳 I don’t like doors to outside in bedrooms! Unless it’s slider door to a patio. The colors in that home is a dead giveaway of its age 😖😖😖😳
I love your videos😊😊😊Thanks!
Very interesting place😊
It's amazing Ethan
i love the house except for the grave lol 😂, the bathrooms are great! Love them ❤
Hey, i just foind your channel yesterday, and i was looking up some ideas for a sims house, and i fojnd your channel, i got to say, thanks so much for all the detail and exploration !!!!! Your one lf the best and k didnt even know this was a thing !!
I find this super relaxing and calmming, its like exploring with you, and these houses takes me back in time, SUPER COOL !! keep it up ! ❤😊
Nice find Ethan 👍
A great find
That kitchen would make me crazy!!!
Replacing windows in that place would be incredibly expensive.
Those stairs would drive me crazy. Very strange floor plan, in my opinion. It reminds me of a Frank Lloyd Wright wannabe. My favorite part of the house was the original light fixture in the entry way.
Loved your video they want toget rid of everything and get new which is not always good they could flip that house it would be beautiful
I had that slate flooring in the hallway to the bedrooms in my old house.
That black bathroom isn't original, that yellow toilet is though. The black stuff got popular in the late 1970s, and really took off in the 1980s-90s. Yeah, black is so easy to keep clean lol
Black and pink or yellow was very common here in Australia in the 50s but decor was probably different over there.
Yikes this is creepy - why would someone bury something/someone IN THE HOUSE... for this reason alone, good that the house is being pulled down. Did the owner of the house murder someone and bury his victim there - was he that proud of his crime...? YIKES!
I am pleased to hear that this house is slated for demolition. It’s ugly with a horrible layout.
Where do you park your vehicle so people dont know youre exploring? Do you go to like a closeby park? Would you consider exploring an abandonded haunted space and spend overnight?
Bathroom upstairs with IKEA drawer unit. Got the one at home.
I'm not sure about this house. Something just seemed off . It's still a shame to demolish it. The history alone is interesting xx
A true museum piece such a shame to say goodbye
