What a great list! Phil Collins knows how to make good songs! That fun fact about him making the songs practically by himself is astounding. Lea Salonga is such an inspiring singer! I've always tried to sing like her but I'll have to stay with my alto vibrato which is fine. 😀 Out of the songs picked my favorite would have to be Show Yourself. I literally get teary eyed when listening to it. It shows who Elsa is and how she has improved from being a cold and distant character to I want to say a goddess of nature.
@@thetroveyoutube Phil Collins definitely does get a bad rap for what he did. But he is a talent! I have to say he and his daughter are great talents. Seems she learned from the best!
Not having Once Upon A Dream hurt me, as it's my favorite older Disney song, and Bells of Notre Dame is the most epic Disney song that should've at least gotten an honorable mention. But Part of Your World and I Won't Say I'm In Love are probably indisputably also my top 2.
Agreed! I find myself singing that song semi frequently out of nowhere. I also like “friends on the other side” because of the feeling behind it and the lyrics, even though it’s known as one of the worst songs in Disney’s discography! It’s crazy how different everyone’s top ten Disney songs are.
"Reflection" hits so hard but weirdly, "Honor To Us All" is actually the song that turns on the waterworks for me, i think because it starts so sprightly and comedic but there's this immense darkness lurking as you come to realize what feels wrong/disjointed in this girl and her self image, the things about herself she won't be able to articulate until "Reflection" but which are so clearly present from this moment... The way her female family members gather around her with total pride and belief that she can nail this matchmaker's visit, hustling her past the chess (go?) match (i never got before that that wasn't just some Girls Are Smart Too pablum, that was foreshadowing of her fitness for wartime strategizing). and then it swells into multivoice as she's swept along in this current that builds and builds until it's too strong to swim against... idk i hear "Honor To Us All" and i know "Reflection" is coming and i just lose it. the way those two songs work in relation to each other... incredible rewatch value. individually i love both songs so much but as a pair...... unbeatable. this was a great list. thanks for another delightful video :)
you nailed this list!! i almost cried when you talked about 'i see the light' 😭 it really is the ultimate disney love song but you're absolutely right about ranking 'a whole new world' above it.. i prefer it as well! my top 3 are 'in a world of my own', 'when will my life begin reprise 2', and DUH OFC 'PART OF YOUR WORLD' i knew it'd be your favorite, too!! it's impossible to put into words what those songs mean to me so kudos to you for being able to express your love for your top songs!!! your videos are always a treat and my favorites to look forward to! so exciting to see your channel grow :)
Thank you! When Will My Life Begin Reprise 2 is fantastic! Love your choices. And I appreciate your kind words! I always look forward to seeing your comments ☺️
Wholeheartedly agree with Part of Your World! Baby Mine from the 1941 Dumbo is one of my favourite songs. Now that I have children, I sing this as their lullaby at night. Always gets them yawning and soothed to sleep. 😊
The fact that you can even come up with a top 10 list is astounding! "Wish" certainly has big shoes to fill! I'd love to see you rank duets or films with the best deleted scenes/ concepts.
Favorite lyrics 1.I'm lost in the woods.(the one with the highest note) 2.Trust your heart, let fate decide, to guide these lives we share. 3. All at once, everything looks different, now that I see you. 4. Do you know who you are? 5. Can you feel the love tonight? 6. Let me share this whole new world with you.(that last part) 7. When will my reflection show, who I am inside?(last part) 8. If there's a prize for rotten judgement, I guess I've already won that. 9. Wish I could be, part of that world. 10. I swear this must be heaven's light.
I watched your whole video essay about Part of Your World before seeing this so it was no surprise to me that it was your #1. I agree with most of your other picks for the top ten!
Amazing list!!!!!! ❤ I'd personally put A Whole New World at #1, but I'm glad it's at #4 at least. Some other Disney songs I'd include are Part of Your World (+ the reprise), I Won't Say I'm In Love, Hellfire, God Help The Outcasts, Out There, Let It Go (it's overplayed but it's iconic), The Next Right Thing, Circle Of Life, If I Never Knew You, Colors of Wind, Reflection, I'll Make a Man Out of You, We Don't Talk About Bruno, Dos Oruguitas (Spanish version), Waiting On a Miracle, pretty much a majority of the Encanto soundtrack lol, Bella Notte, Circle of Life, and about a gazillion more!!! Still love the list though, these were just some opinions of mine.
Awesome video! I love that you added your favorite lyrics for each song and included fun facts about them as well! All of your top 10 are in mine. Some of my favorite songs (in no particular order) are: the ones in your video, Friends on the Other Side (Princess and the Frog), Heaven's Light/Hell's Fire (Hunchback), Colors of the Wind (Pocahontas), I'll Make a Man Out of You (Mulan), Hawaiian Roller Coaster Ride (Lilo and Stitch), Go the Distance (Hercules), Into the Unknown (Frozen 2), Gaston's song and Belle (Beauty and the Beast), Why Should I Worry (Oliver and Company), Prince Ali and One Jump Ahead (Aladdin), and so much more. Pretty much all of the villain's songs are in my top favorites but I wanted to add some variety haha. I also love so many instrumental pieces from various Disney movies such as: Mulan's "Mulan's Decision", Hunchback's "Sanctuary!", Lion King's "King of Pride Rock", Tarzan's "One Family", Oliver and Company's "Bedtime Story", Pocahontas's "Farewell", Frozen's Vuelie (there's a chorus but I still count it as mainly instrumental), etc. They add so much to the movies as they can strongly convey emotion for the scene that is playing by hyping you up or making you sadder. Perhaps you can make a video about your favorite Disney instrumental pieces? I'd love to know which are your favorites!
Thank you so much! I really like the songs you mentioned along with the instrumentals! I love Disney musical scores so yes I'll probably do a video on that too eventually!
This is a strong list! Adding to your list I'd say Lost in the Woods (Frozen II) and Can You Feel the Love Tonight (The Lion King) are in my top ten for sure. In fact, they're probably top two. They're visually stunning, and I absolutely adore the balladesque styles each one has.
My top 10. 10. I see the light 9. Two worlds 8. I won't say I'm in love 7. Gaston 6. Can you feel the love tonight 5. A whole new world 4. Life is a highway 3. Man out of you 2. Out there 1. Strangers like me
I knew this video Was Coming Great Ranking Here’s my List 10. Colors Of The Wind 9. Why Should I Worry 8. I Just Can’t Wait To Be King 7. When Will My Life Begin 6. Show Yourself 5. Waiting On A Miracle 4. Try Everything 3. How Far I’ll Go 2. Part Of Your World But The Best Song In The Whole Canon For Me Is 1. Reflection
Ah I love this! I love hearing your explanations and opinions, as they usually get me thinking about what my own list would be and how it would be the same/different. Great video and keep it up!
My ten favorite disney songs 1. Let it go 2. We dont talk about bruno 3. At last I see the light 4. I wont say Im in love 5. I am Moana 6. Be prepared 7. Poor unfortunate souls 8. A whole new world 9. Almost there 10. Into the unknown
Imagine making a top 10 Disney songs and not including Circle of Life (best intro ever for a movie), Colors of the Wind, I'll make a Man out of you (BANGER) and the literal Disney theme song /sarcasm Tbh you made some solid choices and most of the songs included here are absolutely phenomenal (Reflection 😫) in their own right. It's just that the 4 I mentioned are no brainers in my eyes : Circle of Life is a cinematic masterpiece and the best opening song of all time; the Vanessa Williams version of Colors of the Wind is my favourite musically, When you Wish Upon a Star kinda speaks for itself). It's only my opinion though, no disrespect on you, this is a great video 👍 Gonna give my top 10 later
No worries, I totally agree those songs you listed are amazing. They're in my honorable mentions. This is a personal list though so that's why they aren't in my top 10. If I was making a "best" list I'd definitely include them!
I never understood criticisms of Phil Collins singing in Tarzan. Not only are they great on their own they fit according to where the film's story is at and conveys character's emotions
Good list. Maybe I would separate "villain songs", "opening songs", "funny songs" and "beautiful songs", since they serve different purposes. My favouite opening songs are: 7 - Jungle Book opening theme (ok, it's not a song, since it doesn't have lyrics, but I love the opening music of this movie) 6 - Almost there (Princess and the frog) 5 - Arabian nights (Aladdin) 4 - When will my life begin (Tangled) 3 - Circle of Life (Lion King) 2 - The Family Madrigal (Encanto) 1 - Belle (Beauty and the Beast) (I honestly think this song is a MASTERPIECE) My favourite villain songs are: 7 - I have friends on the other side (Princess and the Frog) 6 - Be Prepared (Lion King) 5 - Mother's knows best (Tangled) 4 - We don't talk about Bruno (Encanto) (Yeah, I know technically it's not a villain song, but it serves the same purpose as a villain song) 3 - Gaston (Beauty and the Beast) 2 - Poor Unfortunate Souls (Little Mermaid) 1 - Hellfire (Hunchback of Notre Dame) My favourite funny songs are: 8 - Hakuna Matata (Lion King) 7 - You are welcome (Moana) 6 - In summer (Frozen) 5 - Be our guest (Beauty and the Beast) 4 - I wanna be like you 3 - Bare necessities (Jungle book) 2 - Under the Sea (Little Mermaid) 1 - Never had a friend like me (Aladdin) My favourite beautiful songs are: 11 - Let it go (Frozen) 10 - How far I'll go/I'm Moana (Moana) 9 - Can you feel the love tonight (Lion King) 8 - My own Home (Jungle book) (Yeah, I know it's a "sexist" song, but that melody is gorgeous) 7 - I won't say I'm in love (Hercules) 6 - Waiting on a Miracle (Encanto) 5 - Beauty and the Beast (Beauty and the Beast) 4 - A Whole New World (Aladdin) 3 - Colors of the Wind (Pocahontas) 2 - I see the light (Tangled) 1 - Part of your world (YEAH! WE DO AGREE ON THIS ONE!)
Awesome list, thanks for sharing! I love the way you categorized them in order to include different types of songs. There’s just so much stellar Disney music 🎵
My top ten 10. I Wanna Be Like You The Jungle Book 9. We Don't Talk About Bruno Encanto 8. Under The Sea The Little 7. Friend Like Me Aladdin 6. I'll Make a Man Out of You Mulan 5. Be Our Guest Beauty and the Beast 4. Out There The Hunchback of Notre Dame 3. Be Prepared The Lion King 2. Love is a Song Bambi 1. When you Wish Upon a Star Pinocchio ( the most magical and perfect Disney song from the perfect Disney movie. Nothing can top this one.) Love your list. I can't believe Part of your World was nearly cut and the two actresses from Moana did not know each other while they were recording. You learn something new every day.
@@thetroveyoutube It's so good. I always feel like it's never mentioned on these list but I was happy to see it on your honerable mentions. All of the songs from Bambi are beautiful.
Hellfire is one of my favourite disney songs ever! They went all out with it. God help the the outcasts is also beautiful. Can't believe you cut them, but hey, that's just my opinion :)
Hey! Nice list. I noticed most of them were self discovery based, including I See the Light (which btw is a thousand times better than A Whole New World, sorry) I’m kinda sad Colors of the Wind or Just Around the Riverbend didn’t make it. The former just amazes me with how it crescendos about Pocahontas’s wisdom and John Smith’s black and white view about her people bursting with colors. It’s probably my favorite song because of nostalgia and it I actually dig it technically isn’t a “love” song because its her showing him why her world is perfect as is, and he completely embraces it (for all those who keep arguing he loved only her looks, think again) the latter I feel is a very underrated self discovery song of the princesses, because it starts with her showing she doesn’t view the world the same way as her father and people do, hence confirming why she can’t marry Kocuom. Did you know the visuals in the song actually mirror how her love with John Smith goes: curve showing her very first look at him peeking over a cliff, waterfall with the heart of the movie, big waterfall showing the doomed and seemingly hopeless situation about his death sentence and the war, a rainbow indicating peace after a violent storm (as shown with the ending of the first half in Savages) and the fork at the end sadly showing they can’t be together in the end, but in a way with the last verse showing she’s able to move on in life and is content with her final decision, no matter how much it hurt. Anyways some of your picks I personally wouldn’t have chose, like Second Star or personally Reflection just never blew me away. I really love your opinion on Part of Your World despite it isn’t my favorite, its very similar to If I Never Knew You from Pocahontas (which ever so stupidly was cut for the same reason, little kids. Seriously want to throat punch whoever got the final decision) 1. Colors of the Wind- already explained but the visuals are so majestic and I actually dig it isn’t a duet. Also watch how John Smith’s expression changes throughout the song. Also includes my favorite scene in the entire movie, sunflower scene which makes it so obvious aside the waterfall how in much love they are 2. Circle of Life- There’s probably no one on the planet that’s never heard this song. It has an exploding opening that immediately captures your attention, and I really love how it displays African wildlife in a beautiful way, also the Swahili verses just add so much emotion 3. Once Upon a Dream- probably one of the most iconic from the classical era. Despite how raced through their love is, I do dig how it beautifully fit it being a fairytale, which was actually from the ballet too 4. Under the Sea- I just have more nostalgia with this one. Its such a fun and catchy song to sing a long with. The visuals are also really cool, and the ending is really iconic with Sebastian pulling all the stops to get Ariel to realize how awesome being a mermaid is (why she ever wanted to be a human is beyond me) 5. I See the Light- Best love song ever. I actually really love it isn’t really broadway style, but rather soft and gentle at first with it gradually crescendoing especially when Flynn takes Rapunzel’s hand and she realizes he feels the exact same way. Oh my god I absolutely melted when they started singing simultaneously 😭 -If I Never Knew You. Yes I have another Pocahontas song. Oh man am I ever so angry that it didn’t make it. This song is so different from anything that ever came before it. It is actually teased several times throughout the movie, most noteworthy is during their first encounter. I could easily write an entire paragraph about the meaning behind each verse. Cutting it out chopped out a huge part of showing how much John Smith truly changed, which sadly deludes many into believing he’s racist and arrogant when this song completely shatters their opinions. I can’t get over how this song came from Pocahontas sadly remarking they shouldn’t have met, because she believes the world is on fire and its all her fault, and before this scene she was actually so scared to see him one more time in fear he didn’t love her anymore. I just love how it comes from how he emotes to how empty and alone he’d be if he never met her, how loving her is worth more than all the gold in the world. I just melt at how this dude is going to be murdered first thing in the morning, but this song acts as a gentle and comforting way of him pouring out his heart and soul to how much he loves her. And the dude couldn’t even hold her. Eric needed a singing crab, Beast needed a singing teapot and Aladdin needed a Genie and a magic carpet, all John Smith needed was a pair of shackles. I also really love how this is the eye of the storm, in the midst of all the hatred and chaos, there is an inner peace that absolutely nothing will ever make him stop loving her even for a second. I just love how in a way its born from Colors of the Wind because its his way of helping her reach the same peace and serenity he has achieved in quietly accepting his fate. It isn’t the ending he wanted, but as he said “I’d rather die tomorrow, than live a hundred years without knowing you” Too bad the main thing that held Pocahontas back from being amazing was sadly its backstory. History can be a real b*tch. -Be Prepared. Oh man, talk about a song that almost makes villainy an interesting career choice. I love how manipulative, maniacal yet sassy it is, showing Scar going from the overdramatic brother to being a powercrazed maniac who will ANYTHING to seize power, which is shown later with Sarabi arguing he’s devastated the Pride Lands and he refuses to leave even if it means innocents will starve to death. But yes its so awesome Jeremy Irons himself sang up until “You won’t get a sniff without me” which really adds how awful and arrogant he becomes towards his gullible minions - Hellfire. Oomph. This song is tied with Be Prepared for villain song. This song is undoubtedly the most adult song in Disney, and I can’t believe it managed to get on a Disney movie, let alone how the f*ck Hunchback of Notre Dame wasn’t forced into a PG rating, considering how inappropriate it is. I feel this is the most intense moment of the movie, truly showing how Frollo has abused his power so bad he thinks he can blackmail Esmerelda into sleeping with him to save herself. 🤮
Spectacular list, thanks for sharing it along with the great write-up. I love your passion for the music in Pocahontas. Colors of the Wind is a magnificent song!
I don't think I could actually make a ranking of my favourite Disney songs, besides my absolute no.1 pick, which is "Colours of the Wind" from Pocahontas, but the German version specifically. As a kid I was obviously exposed to the German versions of the Disney movies, but as I grew older I came around to the English originals and prefer almost all of them to the German songs (Beauty and the Beast, The Little Mermaid, Mulan, etc.), but Colours of the Wind (in German "Farbenspiel des Winds") is one of the few that I'll always prefer in German. The main reason is Alexandra Wilcke because her voice is so gorgeous I can't even describe it, but it's also that I think the translation of the lyrics just works better and is more meaningful. The other songs that I'll always prefer to their English originals are the German versions of The Lion King songs, especially "Circle of Life", "Hakuna Matata", "Can You Feel the Love tonight" and "I just wanna be King". But anyways, if I had to pick my 10 favourites they would probably be: 1. Farbenspiel des Winds (Colours of the Wind) 2. Part of Your World 3. I see the Light 4. A Whole New World 5. Ganz nah dran (Almost There) 6. Kann es wirklich Liebe sein? (Can you feel the love tonight) 7. The Bells of Notre Dame 8. Be Our Guest 9. I Won't Say I'm in Love (but I really love the German version here too!) 10. I'll make a man out of you Honestly, no.5-10 are all so close together that if I made this list again and were in a slightly different mood these placements would absolutely change. About the top5 I'm pretty sure though. Sticking to only one song per movie was incredibly hard to be honest, otherwise this list would contain a lot more Lion King :D Also, I know Coco is Pixar, but Remember Me always brings me to tears and I need to give it this honourable mention.
Some good songs in here but for me the greatest Disney villain song will always be Hellfire from The Hunchback of Notre Dame. Sad it didn't at least get an honourable mention. Oh well it's all opinions ultimately. I agree with A Whole New World and Part of Your World being on this list for sure. I do also think Be Prepared is maybe my number 2 villain song and probably in my top 10 as well.
I love most of these songs, you've got impeccable taste but where's let it go !😟 Anyway, my favourite lyric in POYW, would have to be, "flippin your fins you don't get too far"
Nice list! Mine would probably be: A Golden Afternoon (Alice in Wonderland) Heffalumps and Woozles (Winnie the Pooh) I Am Moana (Moana) Two Worlds (Tarzan) Under the Sea (The Little Mermaid) Make a Man Out of You (Mulan) Show Yourself (Frozen 2) Be Prepared (The Lion King) Hellfire (The Hunchback of Notre Dame) What Else Can I Do? (Encanto) I Won’t Say I’m in Love (Hercules)
I agree with pretty much all! I especially agree with strangers like me and i won’t say i’m in love, they’re SO underrated!! and part of your world has always been a favourite of mine ❤
The song Reflection was originally longer. Lea Salonga recorded the 3min and 17 second of the song. You can hear the original recording in this link th-cam.com/video/bgIyAyZJnNs/w-d-xo.html . She record three version of the Reflection.
Colors of the wind is the absolute best Disney song ever. No excuses for not having it in the video at number one or two at least... LIST (one song per movie): 1 Colors of the wind 2 Part of your world 3 Go The Distance 4 A Whole New World 5 I'll Make a Man Out Of You 6 Can You Feel The Love Tonight 7 Let It Go 8 I Won't Say I'm in Love 9 I Am Moana/Vaiana 10 When You Wish Upon A Star
Great list! I would've loved to have Colors of the Wind in my top 10, but it's so hard when there are just so many fantastic songs. It was one of my last cuts. I'm glad you love the song!
can't say i particularly care about the second star on the right, possibly because it's from a movie i don't care for much. Show Yourself made the cut but Let It Go didn't? what have you been smoking? jk of course, they're both great songs, but i feel Let It Go is the prettier and more relatable one imo. it was everywhere back in the day, and it completely deserved that popularity. still love Show Yourself though. gonna have to disagree on Tarzan's soundtrack; it's better if the characters themselves sing. strangers like me didn't connect with me the way it was supposed to, and i think it would have if Tarzan was the one singing. still a beautiful song though. I See the Light is among my favorite songs ever. it's so beautiful, and perfectly shows how far these characters have come. I am Moana is another gorgeous piece. i love how the grandma is like "we'll love you no matter what" and then it's Moana herself who looks inward and decides that she has to continue this quest. Be Prepared is not awful, but i can't exactly say it deserves this spot over Hellfire. love a whole new world. not sure what i can say that hasn't already been said. love it. as a lesbian, Reflection always hits very hard for me. in fact, it may well be the reason Mulan is my favorite movie of all time. every time i listen to this song, i can't help but cry. this is definitely my favorite disney song. it's not even close. i won't say i'm in love is meh. don't hate it, don't love it either. Part of that world is good, and i love how it helped initiate the disney renaissance, but i feel like later movies did what it tried to do better. love how it sets up Ariel's character and her desires though. all those people who claim that Ariel only became human because she lusted after Eric should definitely listen to this.
As soon as i saw the tittle i was already thinking this guy has part of your world in first. As soon as i got to the last part i was like i fucking knew it hahaha
Dig a Little Deeper I See the Light Out There Beauty and the Beast A Whole New World Reflection Colors of the Wind Part of Your World Won't Say I'm in Love A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes This can change depending on my mood. Picking just ten and then ranking them is impossible for me.

I'm very impressed with how well you can explain why you love these songs
Great video
Thank you!!
I adore Lost in the Woods! Thanks for watching!

such an amazing and detailed ranking! i can't wait to hear your take on halle baileys remake of poyw because it's truly outstanding
Solid list man I'd probably switch a couple out personally but I can see why you picked how you did👍
Imagine making a top 10 Disney songs and not including Circle of Life (best intro ever for a movie), Colors of the Wind, I'll make a Man out of you (BANGER) and the literal Disney theme song /sarcasm
Tbh you made some solid choices and most of the songs included here are absolutely phenomenal (Reflection 😫) in their own right. It's only my opinion though, no disrespect on you, this is a great video 👍
Gonna give my top 10 later
@@Toby_Determined I clearly didn't mean to disrespect the opinion of this guy, if that's is the message my comment passed them I'm sorry
@@Toby_Determined that's why I added a sarcasm tag, it's a joke
No worries, I totally agree those songs you listed are amazing. They're in my honorable mentions. This is a personal list though so that's why they aren't in my top 10. If I was making a "best" list I'd definitely include them!
I never understood criticisms of Phil Collins singing in Tarzan. Not only are they great on their own they fit according to where the film's story is at and conveys character's emotions
I think viewers were just used to the actual characters singing, but I think it was a great choice!
Plus, it just goes to show how great of a choice Phil Collins was!!!!
Good list.
Maybe I would separate "villain songs", "opening songs", "funny songs" and "beautiful songs", since they serve different purposes.
My favouite opening songs are:
7 - Jungle Book opening theme (ok, it's not a song, since it doesn't have lyrics, but I love the opening music of this movie)
6 - Almost there (Princess and the frog)
5 - Arabian nights (Aladdin)
4 - When will my life begin (Tangled)
3 - Circle of Life (Lion King)
2 - The Family Madrigal (Encanto)
1 - Belle (Beauty and the Beast) (I honestly think this song is a MASTERPIECE)
My favourite villain songs are:
7 - I have friends on the other side (Princess and the Frog)
6 - Be Prepared (Lion King)
5 - Mother's knows best (Tangled)
4 - We don't talk about Bruno (Encanto) (Yeah, I know technically it's not a villain song, but it serves the same purpose as a villain song)
3 - Gaston (Beauty and the Beast)
2 - Poor Unfortunate Souls (Little Mermaid)
1 - Hellfire (Hunchback of Notre Dame)
My favourite funny songs are:
8 - Hakuna Matata (Lion King)
7 - You are welcome (Moana)
6 - In summer (Frozen)
5 - Be our guest (Beauty and the Beast)
4 - I wanna be like you
3 - Bare necessities (Jungle book)
2 - Under the Sea (Little Mermaid)

My favourite beautiful songs are:
11 - Let it go (Frozen)
10 - How far I'll go/I'm Moana (Moana)
9 - Can you feel the love tonight (Lion King)
8 - My own Home (Jungle book) (Yeah, I know it's a "sexist" song, but that melody is gorgeous)
7 - I won't say I'm in love (Hercules)
6 - Waiting on a Miracle (Encanto)
5 - Beauty and the Beast (Beauty and the Beast)
4 - A Whole New World (Aladdin)
3 - Colors of the Wind (Pocahontas)
2 - I see the light (Tangled)
1 - Part of your world (YEAH! WE DO AGREE ON THIS ONE!)
Awesome list, thanks for sharing! I love the way you categorized them in order to include different types of songs. There’s just so much stellar Disney music 🎵

Love your list. I can't believe Part of your World was nearly cut and the two actresses from Moana did not know each other while they were recording. You learn something new every day.
Thanks for sharing your list! I love how high Love is a Song is. I find that one to be underrated.
@@thetroveyoutube It's so good. I always feel like it's never mentioned on these list but I was happy to see it on your honerable mentions. All of the songs from Bambi are beautiful.
Thank you for putting Out There on your list, best Disney song ever in my opinion :)
Hellfire is one of my favourite disney songs ever! They went all out with it. God help the the outcasts is also beautiful. Can't believe you cut them, but hey, that's just my opinion :)
Excellent songs! I just have too many favorites so unfortunately they didn't make my list. Honorable mentions though!
Hey! Seriously want to throat punch whoever got the final decision)
1. Colors of the Wind- already explained but the visuals are so majestic and I actually dig it isn’t a duet. Also watch how John Smith’s expression changes throughout the song. Also includes my favorite scene in the entire movie, sunflower scene which makes it so obvious aside the waterfall how in much love they are
2. Circle of Life- There’s probably no one on the planet that’s never heard this song. It has an exploding opening that immediately captures your attention, and I really love how it displays African wildlife in a beautiful way, also the Swahili verses just add so much emotion
3. Once Upon a Dream- probably one of the most iconic from the classical era. Despite how raced through their love is, I do dig how it beautifully fit it being a fairytale, which was actually from the ballet too
4. Under the Sea- I just have more nostalgia with this one. Its such a fun and catchy song to sing a long with. The visuals are also really cool, and the ending is really iconic with Sebastian pulling all the stops to get Ariel to realize how awesome being a mermaid is (why she ever wanted to be a human is beyond me)
5. I See the Light- Best love song ever. I actually really love it isn’t really broadway style, but rather soft and gentle at first with it gradually crescendoing especially when Flynn takes Rapunzel’s hand and she realizes he feels the exact same way. Oh my god I absolutely melted when they started singing simultaneously 😭
-If I Never Knew You.
But yes its so awesome Jeremy Irons himself sang up until “You won’t get a sniff without me” which really adds how awful and arrogant he becomes towards his gullible minions
- Hellfire.
Colors of the Wind is a magnificent song!
i love a whole new world and i see the light
But anyways, if I had to pick my 10 favourites they would probably be:
1. Farbenspiel des Winds (Colours of the Wind)
2. Part of Your World
3. I see the Light
4. A Whole New World
5. Ganz nah dran (Almost There)
6. Kann es wirklich Liebe sein? (Can you feel the love tonight)
7. The Bells of Notre Dame
8. Be Our Guest
9. I Won't Say I'm in Love (but I really love the German version here too!)
10. I'll make a man out of you
Honestly, no.5-10 are all so close together that if I made this list again and were in a slightly different mood these placements would absolutely change. About the top5 I'm pretty sure though. Sticking to only one song per movie was incredibly hard to be honest, otherwise this list would contain a lot more Lion King :D
Also, I know Coco is Pixar, but Remember Me always brings me to tears and I need to give it this honourable mention.
My number one def is April showers from Bambi! So cozy
Great list!🤗✨
my favorite song is I won’t say I ‘m in love😊❤😊❤😊❤
Great list! Much respect for putting Meg's Song so high. Its such a banger! My favourite is Beauty and the beast! Best wishes from Austria
Thank you! I love Beauty and the Beast as well. It’s great to have a viewer from Austria! 🇦🇹
Btw You should def make a Top 10 Disney Villain Songs list at some point!!!
You may have convinced me to finally watch Hercules
Part of your world Is hard to beat 🎉
You included be prepared 😍😍 can't agree more with every word you said about the song. Hell fire is great, but I prefer twisted fun that be prepared is
Glad to find another fan of the song!
I love most of these songs, you've got impeccable taste but where's let it go !😟 Anyway, my favourite lyric in POYW, would have to be, "flippin your fins you don't get too far"
Nice list! Mine would probably be:
A Golden Afternoon (Alice in Wonderland)
Heffalumps and Woozles (Winnie the Pooh)
I Am Moana (Moana)
Two Worlds (Tarzan)
Under the Sea (The Little Mermaid)
Make a Man Out of You (Mulan)
Show Yourself (Frozen 2)
Be Prepared (The Lion King)
Hellfire (The Hunchback of Notre Dame)
What Else Can I Do? (Encanto)
I Won’t Say I’m in Love (Hercules)
Thanks! I really like yours as well!
I agree with pretty much all! I especially agree with strangers like me and i won’t say i’m in love, they’re SO underrated!! and part of your world has always been a favourite of mine ❤
Awesome, thanks for watching!!
The song Reflection was originally longer. Lea Salonga recorded the 3min and 17 second of the song. You can hear the original recording in this link th-cam.com/video/bgIyAyZJnNs/w-d-xo.html . She record three version of the Reflection.
I never knew this, thanks for sharing!!
Colors of the wind is the absolute best Disney song ever. No excuses for not having it in the video at number one or two at least...
LIST (one song per movie):
1 Colors of the wind
2 Part of your world
3 Go The Distance
4 A Whole New World
5 I'll Make a Man Out Of You
6 Can You Feel The Love Tonight
7 Let It Go
8 I Won't Say I'm in Love
9 I Am Moana/Vaiana
10 When You Wish Upon A Star
Great list! I would've loved to have Colors of the Wind in my top 10, but it's so hard when there are just so many fantastic songs. It was one of my last cuts. I'm glad you love the song!
I WAS ABOUT TO SAY 😂😂😂😂 after the rant about the little mermaid
❤ #1 part of your world! Ditto! 🙌🏻
can't say i particularly care about the second star on the right, possibly because it's from a movie i don't care for much.
I’m smoking Show Yourself crack of course 😜 Thanks for sharing your thoughts, I love how much you connect with Mulan and Reflection!
As soon as i saw the tittle i was already thinking this guy has part of your world in first. As soon as i got to the last part i was like i fucking knew it hahaha
I guess I’m predictable now haha
Same exact top 5 list. Haha
finally some respect to "I Wont Say I'm In Love," but WHERES HELLFIRE!1/!?!?1?!?
