CBD in the Treatment of PTSD, Alzheimers, Addiction and Mood Disorders
Neuroprotective potential of CBD, based on the combination of its anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidant properties, presently under investigation in numerous neurodegenerative disorder including AD, PD and HD
Previous clinical studies using CBD concentrated on symptom relief in HD rather than on disease progression and did not show any significant improvement
Regarding PD, activation of CB1 receptors (via THC) enhances rather motor disability; however, CBD acts independently of those receptors
major efforts are being directed at finding cannabinoid molecules that provide neuroprotection through their anti-oxidant properties and activate CB2 but not CB1 receptors
Oral CBD in addition to routine psychiatric care was associated with PTSD symptom reduction in adults
CBD also appeared to offer relief from frequent nightmares as a symptom of their PTSD.
CBD seems to blunt the rewarding properties of many drugs (including THC)
Clinical trials currently focus on CBD for people addicted to opioids or cocaine
Animal studies find that CBD reduces the overall level of alcohol intake, anxiety, and impulsivity.
CBD reduces alcohol-related liver and brain damage by its antioxidant, neuroprotective and immunomodulatory properties.
over 1,500 known biochemicals in chocolate that boost mood such as caffeine and theobromine, and compounds that slow anandamide’s breakdown
black pepper (Piper nigrum) contains a compound called guineensine that increases the activity of anandamide
Anandamide is created from arachidonic acid, an essential omega-6 polyunsaturated fatty acid found in meat, eggs, and dairy
CBD oil does not bind to cannabinoid receptors per se, but inhibits the action of the FAAH enzyme, resulting in a net increase in anandamide
    Flavonoids also inhibit FAAH
Exercise not only increases anandamide but increases the sensitivity of anandamide receptors

Great video Dr Snipes! I have been watching lots and lots of your videos and they've been very informative.. i have HPA axis dysfunction and my heart is always racing.. i used to have lot of stress in the past which has now gone but i've been left with overactivation of the HPA axis.. i have tried daily vagus nerve exercises which have benefited me however i am still experiencing a lot of symptoms such as racing heart, on edge.. get out of breath quickly and i'm not able to exercise as this makes my nervous system go into further overdrive.. is there anything you could recommend as my doctors are not taking this issue seriously here in the UK. Any help would be really appreciated. Thanks and all the best!

Thank you for your comment and for sharing your experience. It sounds like you're dealing with some challenging symptoms related to HPA axis dysfunction. Here are a few strategies that might help you manage your symptoms:
      Biofeedback and Relaxation Techniques:
Biofeedback can be very helpful in managing symptoms like a racing heart. Using a fitness tracker or a chest strap to monitor your heart rate, you can practice deep breathing exercises to slow your heart rate and reduce anxiety.
Progressive muscular relaxation, meditation, and yoga have also been shown to help reduce HPA axis activation and alleviate symptoms of anxiety and depression.
      Strengthening Vagal Tone:
Since you've already found some benefit from vagus nerve exercises, you might want to explore additional techniques to strengthen vagal tone. These include deep breathing exercises, singing, laughing, and physical activities like yoga.
Massaging certain areas of the body, such as the tragus or temple, can also stimulate the vagus nerve and promote relaxation.
      Lifestyle Adjustments:
Ensuring you get quality sleep is crucial, as poor sleep can exacerbate HPA axis dysfunction. Aim for 7.5 to 9 hours of quality sleep per night.
Nutrition plays a significant role in managing HPA axis dysfunction. Eating a balanced diet and staying hydrated can help your body produce the necessary hormones and neurotransmitters.
      Mindfulness and Cognitive Behavioral Techniques:
Mindfulness practices and cognitive behavioral techniques can help you manage stress and anxiety. Techniques such as grounding exercises, square breathing, and meditation can be particularly effective.
      Medical Interventions:
If your symptoms persist, it might be worth discussing with a healthcare provider the possibility of using medications that can help manage HPA axis dysfunction. Glutamate antagonists, for example, can help reduce hyperarousal symptoms, though they should be used under medical supervision.
It's important to continue working with your healthcare providers to find the best approach for your situation. If your current doctors are not taking your concerns seriously, consider seeking a second opinion or consulting a specialist in integrative or functional medicine.
I hope these suggestions are helpful. Take care and all the best on your journey to better health!

    Is CBD ,POT? OR WHAT?

    • @franceslarsen4037
      @franceslarsen4037 3 ปีที่แล้ว

Pot is directly from the plant, undiluted, with all the ingredients that make you high. CBD is in a different form, I don't know all the details, but it's not like you just took pot, no.
