this looks like its a badly reserved race replay from 2004, not 2014. great that you upload these replays but please make sure the quality is as good as you can get. (and please offer some way to download the replays somewhere)
Was at this race, and for some reason when I attend a race a record is broken. That day it was the fastest 500-mile long motorsports event in history when they completed the 500 miles/200 laps in 2 hours, 28 minutes, 14 seconds at an average speed of 202.402 MPH. The fact this was the first 500-mile IndyCar race held at Pocono Raceway since 1989 (I was born in 1990 when they decided not to bring them back for the 1990 season). I was at the final race at Nazareth Speedway in 2004, and I've been in attendance for several NASCAR records.
I was there too. It was funny, the guy next to me in the stands chanted for like the last 20 laps "Montoya is going to win, feel the power!" over and over lol and he was right!

I was at this race, and looking at the sky in this replay, you couldn't ask for more beautiful day for racing at Pocono. Meanwhile the Cup guys were racing the rain at Daytona in a postponed Coke Zero 400 that would be shortened by rain. Danny "360 spin" Sullivan won the last race before they went away. Since their return in 2013 it has been Scott Dixon, JPM, Ryan Hunter-Reay, Will Power two years in a row, and Alexander Rossi. Mark Martin held the record for the fastest 500-mile race when he won a caution free race at Talladega in May 1997 where he averaged 188.324 MPH.
Matthew Kowal but skies too clear is a bit of a worry. Because the heat makes the air thinner and that will affect the cars handling, most especially now with the UAK18. As demonstrated at the Indy 500 last year, the cars become unstable and prone to losing more grip, and also make it harder to pass.
Why dosnt indycar show full races of 2019 anymore. In The UK we have to rely on TH-cam to catch up if we missed it. If you want fans world wide to follow indycar this is essential !!! It's a shame, money b4 fans...🤔🙁

Here again after finishing IndyCar 2023 season... ironically, a year after 2014, Justin Wilson was dead after a very small piece of debris struck directly to his visor...😢
This is unwatchable without some sort of bare-bones timing and scoring. It's understandable when you're pulling footage from the 80's, but not so much here.
@@lotusamg6997 He has a point, though. The image is cropped and badly compressed, and the lack of on-screen graphics is a bit of a shame. I could live with that if they also didn't edited out the bits when they went to commercial: if you're showing the clean feed, you might as well show the full race. Someone would think IndyCar or NBC would have a better quality copy of this, when they have done so with much older races.

No idea why this particular video is in such bad quality. Other NBCSN broadcasts of 2014 or later are in 720p, maybe the NBC footage corrupted?
Leaving Pocono again would be a stupid, shortsighted move. Hopefully this years race is a great one.
