Is this a cloth or hybrid pad??? 🤔| Artisan Hayate Otsu MID review. Surprisingly fast!!!

  • Hey guys! We were really surprised when we tried the Hayate Otsu because it was really fast! In fact the mousepad I could find that was the closest to it was the Glide 38 in terms of speed although not as fast. It also feels like a GLIDE 38 when using it as its frim and pretty speedy. Compared to a Fnatic Dash it is faster than it but the Fnatic Dash felt almost too slow for a hybrid mousepad, its why I said the Outsu Mid was what the Fnatic DASH was trying to be because the for a HYBRID pad the dash feels a bit too slow and feels more like a cloth pad than it does a hybrid pad. Either way after trying the mid we now want to try the XSOFT to see what the differences are. Thanks for watching!

I'm maining the Otsu mid right now and its seriously slept on by the community. I don't know what kind of black magic Artisan have pulled here, but this thing is like a speed pad with high dynamic friction. It almost feels like it has a slightly textured surface with tiny peaks and valleys, where when you're moving the mouse fast, it stays fast, but when you need it to slow down, you can just slightly feel the peaks and it helps a lot with control.

I've had the Hayate Otsu soft for about 2-3 months. I have the Hien and Zero as well both in soft variations. It feels like a mix of both mouse pads imo. The speed and somewhat the texture that the hien has, but the stopping power somewhat similar to the Zero. For kovaaks score's its the best overall mousepad for me, and in game I'd attest to the same conclusion. Solid pad, never tried a mid, but the otsu mid may be a pad I try out.

good review! but did you guys also try the otsu mid?? I reallllly cant pick between mid and soft. I was maining a raiden mid, REALLY loved the feel. But I was missing some shots and flicks knowing I would hit. So i'm playing on an amp900 now to have the control. But i'm missing some speed now :p What do you think? raiden mid to otsu mid, or to otsu soft?

  • @gordonneverdies

I just got the XL XSoft. It's amazing. I instantly loved it and adjusted easily from a slower cloth pad. The low initial friction does it for me. I think with my old pad I was getting a little tackiness that was throwing off micro adjustments. I like to keep my thumb and pinky barely touching the pad and with the Otsu my skin glides over it no prob.

Hey, how has the Otis held up so far? Does it still have the same feel and consistent glide? Also what type of grip do you use, I use fingertip

    • @gordonneverdies
      @gordonneverdies ปีที่แล้ว +1

@@dope5684 It feels pretty good still. My cat scratched it so I had to buy a new one. The new one was a little bit faster but not much at all. The old one had 1000+ hours of fps so I thought that was pretty great. It's a great pad for sure. I use fingertip as well with a GPX.

If we forget about the shidenkai, the raiden is the fastest artisan pad. Then the hien, then the otsu. The raiden is a real fast pad but the hien and otsu aren't fast pads, they lean more towards "quick" pads i'd say. Btw love your vids, the reviews are nice and detailed and the gameplay id really nice.

      Xsoft otsu has been great.
XSoftness allows you to dig in the pad to find more control (if you want).
The pad is slightly textured and quite fast.
The great thing about it being slightly textured is that this feature subtly adds to your control when you play.
Best way I can describe it is like your mousefeet picking up the tactile feedback of the texture during gameplay.
If you don't understand what i mean then imagine putting ur mouse on sandpaper and swiping around. U would be able to feel the fine grit of the sand paper thru the mousefeet.
Again, great pad but NOT for me bc I play valorant and it was just a tad too fast for me.
It's a fantastic pad for tracking games tho. Super dope for apex.
I personally like the zero soft for valorant more.
      hope that helps

Nice review guys. Shame you got mid. Honestly every mid I’ve tried is worse then Soft/Xsoft. The soft or xsoft hayate otsu is amazing, similar initial friction but more control and stopping power. Also the surface feels smoother on your arm. Not to mention all artisan mids are thinner, stitching is level rather then below the pad and the base doesn’t stock as well.
Hope you get to try a soft/xsoft version in the near future.
