Great video and a great adventure. I'm 75 years old and have hiked hundreds of miles in the southwest desert. Lots of it around this area, but never by canoe. I doubt I'll get to canoe the area, but sure enjoyed it vicariously through your video and great narration. One of the most epic moments I had was to hike out to the confluence of the Green and Colorado from The Maze side of the rivers and give a shout to some canoers who were almost to the confluence. I imagine that was a surprise for them hearing us from several hundred feet above. Again, thanks for sharing.
@@tomfarnsworth950 thank you! I’m glad you enjoyed the journey with us. The southwest is an incredible region fully of dramatic beauty. Sounds like you’ve had some pretty amazing adventures in the area as well! I bet your view down on the confluence was stunning! That’s one thing that’s harder to get when you’re canoeing is the view of the canyon system. It’s pretty amazing when you can get a glimpse of the landscape like that.
@@mathewgraves1741 it is an absolutely amazing place! You’ll for sure have to do it when you get a chance. Glad you enjoyed the video! Thanks for the comment!
@@cleddy-qx9vx I’m from the Midwest too, and this trip was like nothing I’ve ever experienced before! It really was amazing. Would highly recommend it. From what I was reading, fall is the best time to get the sandbar camping in those canyons. The water level is too high in spring and summer and they are usually all covered up. Thanks for watching!
@@dustman96 I’m so glad you enjoyed the video! It is such a beautiful place. After doing Labyrinth I really would love to do Stillwater canyon as well. The perspective is so different from inside those canyons. I love it!

Thank you! So glad you enjoyed it. The night sky was truly incredible out there! A few of those nights I sat up late just watching it all. Thanks for joining along!
First of all, what a fantastic job on this video! I canoe’d the Colorado River from Potash - Cataract Canyon solo about 10 years ago. You really captured the beauty & absolute solitude of southeastern Utah! I plan on doing the Green pretty much the same way you two did, but probably late September -early October timeframe. Did I hear you say it was November when you went? Again, great video guys! 👍🇺🇸❤️
@@TimTheJeepGuy thanks so much! I’m glad you enjoyed it. Utah really is a stunning place! We couldn’t get over how absolutely dramatic everything was. And you’re so right, you feel the solitude and silence a lot and I love it! I bet that would be a fantastic time of year also. Yea we went in early November. We got good weather, but it seems like it could go either way depending on the year. The last day was pretty chilly, but the rest of it was perfect. I want to do more of that canyon system for sure!

@Beyond_The_Treeline couldn't find the email. I will be doing this trip next month and just curious about how long it to you to get to trip bend alcove from your start point or even crystal geyser where I'll be putting in. And just some general must haves for the trip that you brought or wish you had. What kind of miles did you average an hour. And tips would be greatly appreciated

I don’t see the point in your comment, but we did both have our own tents if you were paying attention. Not that it would matter if we were using a 2 person tent.
Two guys in a tent? Weird I saw two tents. Anyways Dave all I can tell you is that it is not that terrible sleeping next to another body when it’s super cold especially if you are wet, tired, hungry weather you’re in beautiful Utah or in a foreign country where everyone is trying to kill you. But that’s just us military veteran experiences and opinions. Sleep well tonight Dave in your warm bed.
