What an absolutely sick looking game. Part of what makes it seem more interesting is the build freedom. Most TD games are pretty static in tower placement or build zones but this gives you immense freedom with a strategic constraint. Love it. I do feel like more deck building qualities would enhance that feeling. Stellar job on the demo!
Did Wander just say "It's fun to listen to them (Tower AFX)" @17:15? Wander who actively Turn off Effects Audio in games! This Developer did something incredible.
the maps are extremely bigger than I was expecting by such leaps and bounds, the fact you can create the paths miles out and then make them go through all those trees and stuff, this is a huge concept that honestly looks like it is going to get crazier and crazier when out of demo. Love it.
Wander needs to come back to this game. Especially once it launches. Right the demo has a couple of his suggestions already. Like the upgrading tetris blocks. And picking your towers & cards, but during the battle selection. Game is shaping up really good now. BTW Wander, just wanted to say your my favorite youtuber rn. Thanks for checking out so many different games - and being pretty good all round with good insight on the game.
A tip would be nice, but I admit I would have tried it the first time I noticed the grid around the walls. I noticed it on the first map and wondered if he'd try it.
perks for block types or individual block cards would be cool and def part of building a deck. perks could have auras like you said and combos could be cool or buff any towers built on them. or make them slide!! moving maze was always one of my tactics in games where you can build mid round, you can block a enemy right at the end and have it snake all the way back out to an alternate route and bounce them back and forth if you dont have enough damage just by building and deleting one tower, even became necessary after unlocking infinite waves. just gotta watch the flying types
I agree with fully committing to deck building which could also allow you to buff certain cards during or in between rounds or at shops, so buff a block so it has slowing 1 tile around it or a turret has extra range / crit% / fire rate and maybe enemies could randomly even drop these buffs or other temporary buff cards.
I feel like it would help this game if instead of buying the towers, they were part of the tetris blocks. Makes you think way more about positioning and it would help distinguish the gameplay from other td games.
How would buff cards be for the run? The tower you buffed isn't going to be on the next map. And why would they be for the round, removing one of the variables that can be used to differentiate and balance them? Is the wish based exclusively on convenience with no thoughts for anything else?

Yeah, this game does it right.
I might not make it 10+ hours with the sound effects on, but here they're great.
i love TD games that does Mazing right. This game seems to do exactly that. So it looks really interesting just from that.

It would be great if the game told you you can build ANYWHERE on the grid, not just within the confines of the castle walls.

Super cool concept, excited for the game! It did look like towers could upgrade just not in the demo btw
The art style is charming and pretty unique
when placing blocks it would be nice if the lines changed to give you a preview of the route

This looks aMAZEing.
Good gameplay! Although watching you sit on the arcane storm at the end was so infuriating to watch.
I just got idea to create game like this but i googled if it's not created already and got here. :D Good video tho))
from the look of it, i think you can build outside of your fort
edit: yup, that makes the flamethrower double better, because forest razing XD
