When I was younger I use to fiddle around with the guitars at my grandpa’s house. He had this old les Paul that I really liked and said when he was younger he bought that guitar from an old man for 100$. When I was older we took it down to Nashville to get it looked at and it turned out to be a 1952 Gibson Les Paul Goldtop. The store owner said it’s probably worth around 70,000$. Now it’s a family heirloom.

Red House is 100% my favorite Hendrix song. The "That's all right, I still got my guitar, watch out now" right before the solo always gets me. If Jimi's warning you, you know shit's going to go down.
You forgot the BEST guitarist ever who inspired many like Steve Vai, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Brian May, Slash, Buckethead, Jimmy Page, and BB King, Lil Wayne! He's like a Black Jimi Hendrix!
There are a lot of teachers on the interweb, but your technical knowledge, combined with never forget to add a lot of feel to it, combined with humor, and my favorite is the ability to find significance of the little notes. That's not listening, that's living for the music, giving everything you got.
Dude I've been watching a bunch of your videos lately and you are really the best source for guitar insight on TH-cam. Your passion for guitar, music and teaching is so palpable that you have not only reinspired me to become obsessed with guitar again but you have in many ways changed the way I approach it. Thank you for all of your insight 🤘

Hey Tyler, Nice to see you in Chicago at my guitar shop Chicago Music Exchange 👍. Very professional and friendly staff. I've had several guitars set up by their staff as well as I've bought a few guitars from them. Again great store, fun place to go, blows guitar center away.

It's LaGrange with a long "a" as in range with a "g". It's a little town just west of Houston. It used to be the home of the famed Chicken Ranch until Marvin Zindler of Eyewitness News got the place shutdown. The song is about the Chicken Ranch. Nice lesson. I learn a lot from your videos and I am studying your lessons.
That was a great review of some really sweet licks. I like how you just play it then highlight what really makes it unique. That really helps us develop our own sound. Thanks Tyler
Visited the CME in 2014; I was focused on drums at the time. The drum area is just as impressive, which is saying a lot, because that guitar area is a MONSTER!
At 14:48, great quote, Tyler...One of the best lines ever into the song goes:..."My key won't unlock the door...my baby, she don't live here no more...Still got my geetar"...
Great video. It's funny, that comfortably numb bend was the one I had to try over and over again and I never made it sound good. Until now I didn't know why. For me it's easier to do it with the whammy, though probably not the proper/original way to do it. A lick to add: turnaround lick from crossroads. For me the sound of this really explains the meaning of a turn around.
Another amazing win video. Re: La Grange - it’s a town between Austin and Houston. I live in Austin and my family lives in Houston, so it’s on my way. Around here, we say “luh-GRAYNGE” with at least 400 milliseconds spent on the “A.” Since ZZ Top are from Houston, I always called this song “luh-GRAYNGE,” which rhymes, and ends with, “range.” IDK about the song, but I know about the town.
CME is a great store. For selection (especially basses) it can't be beat. For ease of driving to there & finding parking....well, it sucks. Of course, I'm heading to Sweetwater this weekend where the selection of basses is pretty good, parking is super easy & the drive is a bit more relaxed than downtown Chicago.
