@@jamesjamozo6964 Play and see. You will figure out what suits your playstyle best. For me I usually go for the Ostwind first, to deal good dps against infantry and have the paks deal with tanks.
Thanks Tightrope! I just recently discovered your channel and i am blown away of your quality content! Keep it up and I hope you get a viewer boost with CoH3. One little request i would have. Once in a while, i would love to see a equvalent of a LoL (low elo legend). I am myself just a casual gamer and would be nice to see how average players play and learn from it.
I love this build and have been finding a lot of success with it. All the speed of OKW but with the support equipment of ost. Pairing it with encirclement doctrine is pretty fun, too, since the breakthrough tactics enable your panzers to wipe infantry and vehicles at lightning speed as the panzer grenadiers storm through the gap.
As someone who makes COH2 content, I want to appreciate the time and effort that you put on these videos (even shitpost that I make take a lot of time, I don't know how much did you spend on this:) ). BTW, You are not only making TH-cam content but also changing how players play the game (as you did with that Royal engineer build).
Thank you for this. Your knowledge is incredible I feel like a better player already just after watching your video. Can't wait to try out these tactics
@tightrope I want to point something that I believe was missed in this guide. Stormtroopers bobytrap ability works very well to do wipes when combo with the tactical advance. I think that encirclement doctrine is a valid option for this build since you have the ambush training and the stormtroopers have the ability (as well as other infantry) to sprint and this makes the close rage engagement with them much more easy. Also, close the pocket ability could be devastating to unaware enemies or to simcity strategies
I've tried encirclement many times before. The problem with it is that it really lacks viable options to deal with an opponent that knows what is doing. Close the pocket is not only a very expensive ability, it is not always reliable like frag bombs or lab.
As much as I love encirclement the only thing it has over other similar doctrines is that Stormtroopers can sprint, meaning they can close the gap really quickly- But that's about it though.
I totally agree with you both @Tazzio and @Robert and even more for 1v1, encirclement doctrine is better in team games, very difficult to do and a lot of times not worth it. However, I still think that is a valid option to go if doing this build order. Think about this, if you manage to keep the 222 alive and use the breaktrough ability to cap the cut off very fast, and drop the close the pocket... even if you don't do much damage, you still have a lot of map control after, possibly a support weapon to steal and combine with an ambush with pgrens or stormtroopers when the enemy comes out of his base again.
@@nachexrocker Close the Pocket is still very situational and, truth be told, pretty underwhelming and too much of a gamble. Sometimes 3 stuka bombs will land on your enemies Team weapons... Sometimes those 3 stuka bombs will land on your teammates' 5 vet volks (Unfortunately more common than you think) Breakthrough is easily the most overlooked aspect of encirclement though. Fuel cost means munis to spend elsewhere, and 60 seconds of max-speed for every vehicle + super-fast decap can be game changing.
OKW is kinda the same as Wehrmacht except bad start. Its getting good during mid to end game tho but the way OKW treated most times is a strong support
Tightrope thank you for amazing videos such as these and your FPV games. I tried this build and won 6 out of 7 games today you truly are a wonder in this community and can't wait to see what you come with in CoH3.
Oh my God I played this build alot in when the game first came out and it was bad with 3 mens on MG's and 2 in the soviet snipers, but when I tried it now I killed 3 snipers, 2 scout cars and put a stop to their penal trop hordes, thanks man this made my day.
Nive video tightrope, I always use this kind of build even before this video, but my version is a bit different so I'm gonna show u some my own style of this kind of build. Jäger Petty much like tightrope build order, but I will replace either the 222 for a halftrack since Pgren work very well with it, or a pak for a mortar just for smoke and harass the support weapons. I don't really go for Gewehr 43 ugrade since I find not really suited for my aggressive play style. I never even bother tier 4 because all of the vehicles in tier 4 sucks at 1v1 most of the time. If I'm ahead in terms of fuel, I will rush out an Ostwind to pressure everything until their tank hits, then I will get Panzer 4 or Stug depending on what kind of Medium armor he have. Quite a solid doctrine if u ask me. Storm This doctrine is not satisfactory tbh, sure it have Stuka dive, but honestly there other measure that a just more cost efficient. Infantry Again pretty much like tightrope build, and again same thing what I said on the my own build order and late game build, probably my most used doctrine because it just skyrocket your Pgrens in terms utility and Pioneer's repair speed. Personally I prefer fragmentation strike over light artillery barrage because it kills infantry much faster and can potentially disrupt enemy vehicles. Mechanized Again like tightrope build, and again what I just said earlier on my build order and late game build. Another solid doctrine so yeah. Elite Again same thing on tightrope build and what I said earlier on never upgrade my Pgrens, and also Stormtroopers with Gewehr 43. As for the Tiger tank, I only go for it if I'm just playing the game for pure style or just to annoy my opponent since at vet 2 it gain more sight range and it has spearhead ability, making closing the Tiger tank near impossible without getting spotted first by it. Overall a fun one, more flashier stuff going on this doctrine. U can use my own little variation of build order, so go ahead and have fun.
Lol, that's almost exactly the build I created lately, but with MG first, so i can capture crucial forward capture point and then absolutely block it from taking. Didn't know tho, that MG takes 17 seconds more to build, nice to know that.
Wow ive been watching your coh2 match commentaries and i had no idea you made these in depth guides. Ive wanted videos like this ever since i first played the coh1 demo and noticed there is just so much going on under the hood that the game never tells you. Do you have one on the effects that recrewing team weapons has on the crewing infantry? I know people generally use cheap infantry but ive never understood why crewing an mg with obers wouldn't be a good idea since you have 3 elite infantry protecting the gun and killing the suppressed infantry off from long range. So do they lose all their stats or not? Nobody seems to know
The issue with pgrens is that they only have 35 range and players at the higher levels are very good at exploiting that so they usually aren't very effective.
schreks suck at max range and u get random hits pak is much stronger with further range 2 of those will melt tanks also 100 munitions is a lot panzers are also very good v infantry with 2 schrecks they are only half as good
in the first company of heroes. I would spam 3 pioneers and 2 mg teams as Wehrmacht and just buy the support infantry veterancy instead of getting volks while skipping straight to normal grenadiers and knights' cross holders as core infantry. Man, I miss knights' cross holders.
Shoutout to the gunner at 12:47 who gets yeeted

As someone who recently started playing and loves the idea of stormtroopers.... Yes, this will be great for making it work

Absolute craic of a video. Thanks Tightrope.

thanks tightrope for the effort.
Excellent vid, thanks tr. Nice graphics in the beginning as well. Can tell you had fun with those.
Double 222 has smoke. You can always fall back with one 222 using smoke, therefore keeping both vehicles alive
Great intro
Great video. Especially appreciate the Stormtrooper details

Great video, I'll be sure to use these... Wehrmacht gameplay has felt a bit stale as of late
About the G43 upgrade after MP40:
Sometimes after the upgrade if you lose the model carrying G43, it will be replaced with MP40 model.
I don't think I have ever seen that happen, in fact once the model carrying the mp40 dies it gets replaced by a KAR98
@@tightropegaming Huh that's weird. I must be mistaken. Either way it's still a weird interaction.
That Double-Double is hanged heavily to obtain 2+ Panzergrenadiers or not.
dont forget the mobile mg platform of the 250
u can use this even later in the game if needed and to reinforce
it seems like everyone forgets that you can hull down the 250 and then its MG42 suppresses just like a bunker.
How can u zoom out so far? o.O
