This solo is one of my favorite period, but riffs from this song ARE my favorites.
Rhythm part of this song is at least on the same level with lead part of it.
I’ve been a megadeth fan for 30 years. You can imagine how many times I’ve heard this song over the years. I’ve seen megadeth live many times & seen this solo played by different band members, they all have a different take on it. Your cover is the Closest to Martys I’ve heard in years!! Keep it up dude ! I think it is also, seen many. I play the solo myself to very close accuracy. Friedman’s style is so wild, I think you have the closest replica.

Rhythm is like it's synced to an atomic clock, every bend is perfect...so many covers of this and other songs are just "not quite". You make it look effortless...fully under control to matter how fast it is. The big man himself left a comment! Wow!

This solo is so much more than just notes. It's all about the feel! I've seen lots of people doing this song and some have the notes right but not the intensity. This guy has the intensity. My favorite version yet.

Obviously,everybody is talking about the insane Marty Friedman solo but hardly nobody mentions the amazing rythm-guitar parts by Dave Mustaine when talking about this song.
Just that outro-riff alone is so good,other bands would have put this as the main riff.
EDIT: Any idiot who claims that "Mustaine is not a good guitar player",should self-quarantine him/her-self from youtu be comments for at least 10 days. Not only has good ol´Dave written some of the most intricate riffs in the Thrash-Metal genre but he also manages to find some insanely skilled lead guitarists who complement his rythm work. Guys like Chris Poland,Marty Friedman,Al Pitrelli,Chris Broderick,Kiko Loureiro, all absolute beasts on guitar.

People always seem to mess that bit up completely in other covers

Listen this solo by Ben Eller, he play it far cleaner and so close to original, and use backing track, not studio record
ye marty doesnt really do the massive stretch live. jumps to the 12th fret instead of staying on 10 when the 10 to 17 stretch comes along in the actual song. guessing he cant do it comfortably standing up.

This is why I like mega death so much. Dave’s guitar is constantly playing BUT there is space throughout, from the subtle 1 note breaks, to his his creative use of octaves as well as the step up and downs in 2or 3 bars, not just a progressive fret to fret ascending or descending pattern. I love all types of hard rock and metal, but the guitars on any megadeth song are able to breathe and be heard

Allegedly, if you watch his videos with paul gilbert where they guitar duel, it's pretty evident he's not good at improvising. I'd like to believe it but I don't think it's improvised, I think it was a well rehearsed and pocketed solo. That being said if you have any proof I'd like to hear it.

I don't know why some people think all guitarists, especially in the metal genre, improvise all their album solos on the spot. The vast majority do not. They take time writing the solo and get it down perfect. But it depends on the song too, I know some stuff I've written out before hand, and others I just improvise. There's a lot of variables.
No, something like this is impossible to improvise on the first try, it may be improvised, but more in terms of adding a little bit more to the solo every take until we have this
