Figuring out what you want to do in life is difficult. But even if you manage it, figuring out how can be even harder.
Pretty early on, Jeremy Wang - today known as Disguised Toast - knew that he wanted to be an entertainer. He learned magic, he made a video game, and eventually turned to content creation.
Toast became the masked mad scientist at the top of the Hearthtone streaming world, but after a dramatic face reveal, leaving his original game behind, and even founded his own esports team.
Disguised Toast has never shied away from a challenge, and this is the story of how he's taken risk after risk to get where he is today.

The thing I loved about the whole squad of Offline is that they put their heart in their work. Also they support the esports scene that much. DSG didn't make it into tier 1, but they sure had a good tournament overall. Hopefully, they'll win it next time.

So true. If there's one thing we can count on- it's that toast doesn't do things half heartedly. When he's commited to something- he leaves no stone unturned and gives it his all. If there's anyone who could find a solution for the Esports scene- it's him.
I love Toast, ever since he was just starting in Hearthstone.
Hearthstone had Krip and Kolento, but no one was ready for Toast.

Remember this - the first Streamer to get into the eSports space is TotalBiscuit. The man was before everyone else when he helped found Axiom eSports and signed StarCraft 2 players to compete in Korea. It's sad that because of his advancing Cancer and the slow downfall of the StarCraft 2 scene that he wasn't able to branch Axiom to other eSports. TotalBiscuit really was that great Elder Gaming Statesman for the entire Gaming Industry despite getting hate from certain circles over GamerGate. He was the one behind the scenes giving advice to guys to diversify their social media platforms and push for more for Streamers. He was the one that almost got Gacha Games banned in the United States and the West if not for his Cancer - his spreading awareness of how predatory Gacha Games are especially on minors led to companies slowly moving away from Loot Boxes. And when he died, many Gaming Companies that would've been called out by TotalBiscuit ended up being more shady and more predatory - leading to some companies reputations (especially Blizzard Ent.) downfall to ruin.
The guy was ahead of his time, and if it wasn't for his cancer - perhaps we'd be still talking about Axiom eSports. Perhaps Streamers would've jumped on the eSports scene sooner if TB was still around to guide them on the process.
the sponsorship in this video was done very tastefully, defiantly wasn't distracting or obnoxious, a blueprint for all other content creators to follow.
Most of the time if there was an ad read, it was at the request of the sponsor not the youtuber themselves
Toast got me back into playing Hearthstone, Toast got me back into watching OTV, and now Toast got me back into following esports.
Something about Toast that was so fun to watch in Hearthstone was that he would play the craziest off-meta decks and make it work
Toast and Michael were both people I watched before OTV and I'm so happy they're getting the attention they deserve
When toast genuinely loves doing something and when that thing genuinely interests him, he will do everything and anything for that thing and turn it into a success no matter the difficulties and risks. Toast will figure out eSports, trust... He wont leave a single stone unturned...
Left out the part where during his early start with the mask he accidentally slept through a hearthstone event and got a lot of publicity from that of all things
Imagine when I first played hearthstone, I watch disguised toast vod to learn when I was in middle school. Suddenly I am in university now and toast is a billionare. Time flies for real.

I think the thing with Toast is he seems very genuine. You see his interactions with his chat and you can tell what kind of person he is. I enjoy his content as well as OTV and their friends. They're very positive for the streaming community.
Blizzard suspending Toast's Hearthstone account was basically shooting themselves in the foot (not that they haven't done it on other games), the declining viewership meant the game was gradually dying and it didn't help at all that their marketing campaign was absolute dogshit.

I would love to believe that if toast really was streaming on Twitch during the Among Us Boom, he would be one of the biggest streamers on the Platform, a possible top 50, maybe a bit of a long shot but top 10 streamer is possible too. But streaming on Facebook also brought about it's own benefits, with Facebook brought about massive new audiences to him, that was unique to him at the time(meaning those audiences would be focused on him, and he won't be fighting for attention).
I definitely believe that as well!
toast is a really smart guy, the reason he went to facebook wasn't only for the money, it was for the novelty and discussions, many people were talking about that and a lot of people learned about him. he's not just doing things on a whim, he's actually thinking about the consequences. i think he's not top of the line streamer nowadays is because he took it easy, didn't stream much after among us, didn't do collabs as much and is just focusing on his passion. If he had continued to stream what was popular, i have no doubt he'd be just as big as he was in the among us boom. if not for the fact he now needs money for his esports, he'd probably stream way less than he does now. man was about ready to retire.

Tbf the guy is a genius. Yeah, he didn’t start out as a business man, but he was an amazing content creator and that’s basically where you learn the business snide and out.
Take Bill Gates and Steve Wozniak for example. Both Gates and Woz were brainy nerds who started out as computer programmers and when they had an idea, they threw it out and became rich business people.
Disguised Toast basically took his 3+ years of being an experienced streamer and decided to gamble his business ideas using his money and streaming experience and ofc, it panned out.

Good video, do think saying there was no big variety streamers when toast was growing is wrong though. Most of the early big streamers were not tied to any one game
