@@RewindReliveReview A Maiko is an apprentice Geisha from Kyoto. Band-Maiko was an April fools joke by Band-Maid. On April 1st 2018 the Band-Maid website and You Tube channel was taken down and replaced by Band-Maiko. All music was removed and replaced with one MV "Secret Maiko Lips" (a cover of Band-Maid's "Secret My Lips). They stated this was their new direction. The band dress as Geisha and traditional Japanese instruments (shamisen etc) are added to the songs. They also don't sing in normal Japanese dialect, they sing in Kyoto dialect. They also changed their names: Saiki became Fujiki Miku became Hatoko Kanami became Kanoemi MISA became Umemisa Akane became Akatsuki In 2019 they did it again on April 1st releasing the MV to "Gion-Cho" - the only Band-Maiko original. They also released a seven track EP of Band-Maid covers with added traditional instruments. Band-Maiko EP: "Secret Maiko Lips" (Band-Maids "Secret My Lips") "Akasimahen" (Band-Maids "Awkward") "Ansan" (Band-Maids "Anemone") "Tora and Tora" (Band-Maids "One and Only") "Yolosiosu" (Band-Maids "YOLO") "Screaming" (Band-Maids "Screaming") "Gion Cho" - Band-Maiko original- with MV The only band I know that formed a covers band of themselves! I think you should do a two in one reaction in this order: Band-Maid "Secret My Lips" then Band-Maiko "Secret Maiko Lips" Enjoy
This is a great instrumental song, it takes me back to the classics guitar players like Satriani. Check out more from the new Band-Maid album... so many great songs. Oh, for some serious drumming, check out "Go Easy". Thanks for sharing your reaction.
The funny thing is that Kanami thought the album was pretty much done when Saiki asked for an instrumental to close it out, so Kanami had to rush to write it to get it onto the album. It just goes to show what an amazing a composer she is, and how great all of the Maids are as musicians.
Akane is seriously a MONSTER. Her double bass kicking is unmatched. Her limb independence is crazy. She is on another level and is the best drummer IMHO alive today.
Great reaction guys, Band-Maid knows how to write instrumentals. Also, they have 7 or 8 albums now, 130+ songs. For me, I'd put this one as #2 behind "From Now On"
@@kieranbuffini8632 thank you!! I probably got the number of strings wrong in my comment during the show. I should know better. Stay positive. Stay blessed. -Яick
Don't Be Long is a great Band Maid instrumental that is not as well known as Get to the Top, From Now On, Without Holding Back, and Giovanni. Check it out !!🤯
My favourite BM instrumental is still Without holding back. My top new songs in epic narratives are Tamaya, The one and Toi et Moi but actually I also quite like Bestie and Memorable as well. Least favourite song is probably Show them.
The Maids played the whole Epic Narratives album (not in order) at their November 2nd and 3rd Zepp shows. It would be great if they released a live version of the album.
What’s your favorite Band-Maid song?
"Akasimahen" the Band-Maiko version of "Awkward"
That is a tough question to answer ... seems crazy, but generally when I'm listening to a Band-Maid song I wonder if it is my favorite song :).
@@Davey-Boyd hello there, as I’m still relatively new to Band-Maid, can you expand on Band Maiko?
@@EliseAutoXr that’s actually a good problem to have ! Thanks for watching. Stay positive. Stay blessed. -Яick

@@JayDavisAtHome I cannot argue with that at all. With what I’ve been hearing so far I have to agree!
All of them are monsters. How did Miku manage to find them all? She must have known exactly what she wanted...
@johancoetser906 first you got extremely lucky finding Kanami, and then Kanami knew Akane and Akane knew Misa. It was a fortunate miracle
