You were the first quilter I found on TH-cam. I have watched you since the beginning of your channel and you taught me to quilt. I love your attitude to quilts and that finished is better than perfect. Natalie did a great tutorial on binding a scalloped edge when she did her Q&A series a couple of years ago. You will be missed but I do love watching Natalie’s tutorials too.

I enjoy your stories. Also really like the spiral binding used on your new book. It makes using a book so much easier when it lays flat.

Internet in Africa is very spotty, but so far we have been very lucky with being able to stay in contact with our family in the States.

My mom made that oatmeal cake and I just recently pulled out that recipe and made it. It was like getting a hug from my mom! Purely selfish of me, but will miss you and Ron are on mission, but what an opportunity!! Hoping you will make a few drop ins while gone!! Natalie and Misty will do a wonderful job!

Hi Jenny, I made that quilt! I loved the idea of it since my husband and I were fortunate to have visited 21 national parks and monuments, including Haleakala. What great memories. Now you and Ron are going to make new memories, too. God bless you as you fulfill your mission in West Africa. We will miss you, but Natalie has your back - I really love her manner and creativity.

You will be missed. You are the one who got me started on quilting. Camped in RV in pouring rain across by JC Pennys park for 2 days. I loaded up with fabric books and a brand new Baby Lock Katherine. Been a fan ever since. Thank you for serving a mission for the Lord❤

I was very excited when Riley Blake came out with their National Park panels. I have been collecting all the ones for the Parks we have visited. I recently purchased the one you just showed and love your idea about embroidering something on the ones visited.
What a GREAT Tuesday Newsday! Love the idea of the picnic quilt and embroider a heart when you visit that park, genius! The oatmeal cake I'm sure is the same recipe I used to make when I was a little girl for my family, sometimes two or three times a week, minus the chocolate on top; had so forgotten about that recipe! Excited for you Jenny & Ron to go on your mission, oh the memories and faith building opportunities, and the stories you will share with us. Praying you will do some kind of newsletter, available online, from Africa to capture your journey. Blessings!

I love the toolbox & the fact that Ron gave you one. My dad gave me a toolbox one year for Christmas many, many years ago!! I still have it & use it 😊😊 We lost him in '12. Thank you for sharing the cake recipe! I can't wait to make it 😋I'm the same in the fact that I look at misc. items & see a quilt pattern. I'm sure alot of us quilters are the same way!

Oh, when I was a kid and we were very poor. But on Sunday, my mother always made oatmeal cake, for family gatherings, but it did not have chocolate chips.. you mentioning oatmeal cake sure made me wanted to make one. 😊
I also love the national parks quilt. I also have been watching you since my quilting journey started. I took a quilting class at Joann Fabrics and a short time later I found you Jenny. I try to not miss any of your tutorials for the last 14 yrs at least. I watch them more than once. I believe I must have lots of knowledge hidden in my head and heart, kinda like reading the Word of God. The Word comes back to me quicker though. 😊

Such a wonderful reel !! I felt like I was just one of 4 people in the room ! and leaned in on every word you spoke ! I have my 2024 Xmas box on preorder loved the two I purchased prior. Such fun opening I will preOrder your book . The tip about sewing the scallop border on made so much sense do it after it’s quilted which I did do on the only scalloped quilt I’ve done to date , but pulling it straight I’m quite sure I didn’t do so I now have a good reason to make another scalloped edge quilt ! Or placemats or…. Runner or ….

That cake is one my grandma handed down to my mom and then to me. We call it, "Grandma's oatmeal spice cake". We donb't add the chocolate on top but the rest looks and sounds just like ours. In fact,I was just about to make this cake because I'm jonesing it really bad right now. Loved your quilts, especially the one with the scalloped edges. Thank you for sharing. Love you all.

I love your video. You talked about your toolbox, my husband got me a toolbox too! Really 2 one was for my 1950 Singer machine an one for all my stuff for sewing. I was so surprised and Happy.
