A funny story you probably hear all the time. I wore my garden answer tee out to lunch last week. The person who took our order commented that she watched Garden Answer too. She was really excited to see my tee., so funny.
Introverts unite! I couldn’t agree with you more on tours and sharing your space. You share it in the best way and I’m thankful for your videos. There is NO WAY I’d want people wandering through my space and the stress involved as you mentioned. ❤
I would LOVE a tour of your gardens. But I agree with previous comments. DON'T open your lovely home to tours. Let it remain your sanctuary. We are lucky enough that you share your space; gardens, home, family, etc. Thanks for the fabulous content. You're a highlight of my day
I have never felt or observed the situation where your project ever felt fabricated. I’ve always viewed the videos as your attempt to provide a complete gardening environment that applies to everyone and every situation. Thank you for including your knowledge. I have personally gained the knowledge of so many plants I had never known existed. Thank You!
Having watched Laura here & there since the beginning, I’m totally surprised at how invested I am into learning about gardening. Must be midlife crisis! 😂
Laura, I agree with everyone else! You've done SOO much for all of us already!! I know my life and yard have you to thank!!! Gardening has brought so much light in my life. The only losing party is my wallet! 😂 Keep your home private! I drive through and stop at Andrew's every time we drive to see my Navy boys in Washington! I always dream of finding your house. I've never looked, though. You truly do deserve your privacy!
I so agree with you NOT doing tours. You do so much for us already, and more than that, it's your home, and your children's home. You deserve and need some privavcy. Plus, the kids are getting older, you're going to want to do more with them. You give so much of your time and energy, please don't add that to your plate too. Love you guys!
We live on a street that people walk on, I get comments and questions about flowers and plants. One young woman asked about the aliums, she said, "I have only seen those on Garden Answer", you are connecting many of us with all you share.
Don’t do anything that you don’t want to do. I do think that gardeners are for the most part are truly delightful people. I am so happy that you share on TH-cam.
Love watching both of you discussing all about gardening, you are a very unique couple. Thank you for sharing all your gardening knowledge. And NO on tours, that would be too invasive. Videos are just right. Your actual privacy is much too important. Keep your grounds sacred, if I was your neighbor I would not be happy knowing there's so many people knowing the area. Keep on teaching us and we will keep on watching. Thank you ❤❤❤❤
Always enjoy the Sunday recaps! I’m in the no tour camp - you both have already been so generous with sharing your home, family and gardens with us. I’m also appreciative of Paul and Bethany for setting up cameras while they work on projects at your home, but see that as different from making their personal spaces part of GA videos. Thanks for the recap - can’t wait to see the new plants and projects!!!
The world of before kids and after kids! I have noticed you simplifying more and more in the past two years and I really like that approach - it is more relatable. While I loved seeing all of the creativity, it was a bit exhausting. And l agree with others, no - don’t do home tours. That’s your private space. And was happy to hear you say last week that you were not doing the college gardens. That was a gift to them but does not need to be a commitment. And - dare I say it?- it was not as interesting as your own garden, time at Andrew’s, day trips with your mom and Monica, as well as projects in/tours of their gardens.
Previous comment is what I wanted to say from the moment the question of tour visits came up. Never do anything you are not Happy with. Your Videos are perfect, even at times I feel they could be shorter for you, Laura. Never Overwork your body past 3O, you will live a better life, if you keep your space and time you need. As an Elderly Lady. I feel People ask or expect too much. The more we learn and see on the Internet. The more old values are more important. Respect others. Thankyou Both for Garden Answer.
Pond algae control. String algae control, use Barley bales, Put them in your pond and as they decompose they release Humic acid which string algae does not like and will prevent string algae from growing. Nothing kills algae except chemicals. So your best option for natural control is Barley bales. Also you can create shade quickly. Its called Pond blue. It is basically a dye to darken your water, It is natural and its like putting sun glasses on your pond. But before you use it you should get the algae under control again and then use the Pond blue. I have helped many people over the years to get their algae problems under control. And have watched your pond videos from the beginning.
I am so amused when you put sound effects into words like pff. I also appreciate that you left in and highlighted when the camera fell. 😂 Love, love, love your videos!
Laura and Aaron you both get along so well together and even easy going when you disagree with each other. Your videos are fun and enjoyable to watch and have learned so much. Thanks, and you are very much appreciated!
Looking forward to seeing all the plant material on the big load thats on its way..when you guys said you didnt like phone calls at all I knew I'd found my tribe !...lol
Re your comment about your helpers, I SO AGREE! One great employee - smart, clever, helpful, self-starting, innovative - IS GOLD - is worth 20 average workers!!! So glad for you that you have found these terrific folks to be on your teams. AND I think their willingness to be on your teams, is because of WHO YOU TWO ARE!!! Outstanding workers and employers yourselves, Love love love your channel!
Horseshoe bend reservoir has ticks!😩 Laura just say the names the way you want with confidence! It's not a battle you need to fight. We just are happy you are doing what you do!
Laura, you should know that you have really inspired and motivated me. The cool colors to cool down a sun burnt area is such good advice. The thriller, filler, spiller design... Chef's kiss. I could go on and on. I've watched for years and my yard is just perfect.
Good morning - I wanted to mention, and I hope this is taken in the context it is intended. I love that Bethany and others take plants and things you (the property) are no longer using. I see it all as being repurposed and being good stewards of what is available. I recently did a project and used about 95% repurposed items. I really didn't want to spend much and of course like any project it got bigger than I had planned. I made it work. Also, we would love to see Bethany's horses if she is ever up for sharing.
I do understand having time for other projects but I love it when Laura feeds America ! Laura and Aaron’s generosity is inspiring, most people just aren’t generous anymore they always have to put a dollar amount on things. 💐💚🙃
Laura, I just wanted to let you know that I followed your steps for doing a hard prune on my John Cabot Climbing Rose. I kept thinking that I had certainly killed it, but NO! It is GLORIOUS in its bloom! Thank you from me (and the rose) so much!
Another beautiful Sunday watching the recap! Love your videos, you and your husband have such a good relationship. I grew up in Oregon and it makes me feel like home watching. It's hard to put into words but after living around people from different areas, Oregonians just have a way about them that is unique!
I agree! Laura and Aaron are such likable people! You know how there seems to be something that you just don’t like about someone??? Well…. I can’t think of anything that I don’t like about them and actually the whole family! I have been watching from the beginning of there TH-cam journey and never ever miss a video. So I think that says a lot about them and why they are where they are today and will continue on! ❤️ Garden Answer ❤️
I agree with the tours. It is soo stressful and with you there are soo many people that would want to come so it would be a nightmare for you! So hold your ground and do you!! Not what other people want! 💜💜💜💜💜
Laura good morning 🌞 I love the Gara. I did not know about this plant until you used it. It's breezy and delicate but strong all at once. Thank you for introducing this plant!
Greetings from Switzerland. I love your videos. My garden and my pots look beautiful all year long. I have learn to plant, plants according the weather and this is what I have learn from you.Have a beautiful week.
If the kids ever get their own garden spaces again, it would be cute to put the hayracks on the short little fences around their garden plots. They could design, plant, and harvest flowers of their choice from the hayracks and veggies from the child-sized garden plots. (Picturing child-sized picnic table and garden benches there, too!)
I recently purchase the auger. I have hardly ever used power tools. Once i figured out how to attach it to a drill I started at 1 and then went up. For anyone who isn't sure - it is so much easier to manage than I had anticipated. I hoped it would be easy and it is. So worth it. Used it to plant nearly 200 annuals the other day.
Thank you for going over the Dewalt settings and showing it again- I have one of your augers but after trying to use it once I was scared to try again….. we have LOTS of roots And rocks. I will try again but will be sure to dial it back. 😳. 😁. I need to go out and count how many different kinds of plants Ive tried since I’ve been watching you guys!!! There are a lot! Thank you Thank you Thank you for introducing me to lots more plants - my garden has certainly benefited from your influence. Proven Winners has certainly benefited 😁$$$$
We lived in a heavily wooded lot (5 acres) for 25 years. We had to have Roto Rooter every three years clean out the lateral lines from house to public sewer lines to avoid back up. Hope this helps.
Thank you for sharing your garden with all of us. A note on Gaura, I am in Boston 5a-"7b" (more 5b/6) I planted Gaura as a centerpiece in a container about 3-4 years ago. Took a chance and planted it in my flower bed at the end of summer. I have been dividing it the past few seasons. Gorgeous whimsical addition. I had more success with the white version and the clumps have about a 2.5ft wide x 2ft high spread. Highly recommend!
Good morning all. Getting a nice drizzle rain last night and this morning. My feet are grateful they won’t have to be on shovel duty today. Expanding all my flower beds this year.
We all have to prioritize at different stages of life. You are so busy with this business and your family - something has to give, and if that means no flower boxes, no hay racks, fewer veggies this year - great! I love how you both experiment, adapt and move on. And what a gift to work full-time with your spouse at home!
Re: tours of your beautiful gardens...not only logistics to be concerned about, there is always the liability factor. Thanks for sharing all the planting, progress of development and your family with us through the videos.
I worked for a city water facility (Baker City, right in your neighborhood!). Most cities will definitely come after the homeowner if their tree roots damage their system. A good Realtor will suggest that you have sewer lines inspected before you purchase a home. Repairs can set you back thousands of dollars.
I think something like a meet and greet at Andrew’s after hours would be a great alternative to a tour. You would still be surrounded by plants and can do cocktails and snacks. And maybe even involve a craft of some kind.
Yes!! that is what I thought about Miracle Grow Soil. I have noticed the last couple of years that there has been more wood in it. I thought it was just me. Thank you for bringing that up!!
Arron watch the Southerners Northern Garden where he installed a large fountain and hooked it up to drip and a float type thing that would automatically fill the fountain. This was very impressive and would fix Laura’s issue with filling fountains. They do need to be the larger fountains.
I'm happy that you are satisfied with your PW orders. I ordered for the first time - available in Canada, and I am so disappointed! Half the order didn't arrive, but to be honest, was the fault of UPS. However the remaining plants that did arrive were either damaged or so small that it will take all summer to grow. Contacted PW (after many e-mails that were ignored) and was just told "Sorry, just plant what you have!"' .Over $400..00 for my first order. May not seem like a lot to some, but a LOT for me. Never again!
Even though I have a very small urban garden and (maybe because) trees are not a possibility, I love your trees loads and watching you guys plant them.
I don’t blame you. I’ve wondered if you have ever done tours. I don’t think I would do tours at 8 pm. I’d want everyone off my property there’s so many places to hide. I appreciate you giving us a look online though. So beautiful
The sheer size of the channel, plus the, uh, *intense* nature of a lot of their fans, would make me very nervous about having anyone unknown on the property if I were them.
Love your channel. I get so inspired when watching where you planting in every space on your property. Looking forward to seeing what is going to happen in the pond area where you are expanding it. The one thing I found for when I had little kiddos is we just went about our business whether it is watching an intense movie, playing a piano or whatever is going to make noise. This way the kiddos could sleep anywhere in any type of noise. But I get it when others don't move it that way. It is so funny when helpers keep an eye out for what you are looking for aka horses. I have learned so much and keep trying new plants out in my garden every season. Thank you to you and Aaron for making the videos easy to understand.
As much as all of us would love to see your gardens in person, I totally agree with keeping it just your private space. The thought of a bunch of people traipsing around what I consider my personal "safe place" would send me on a trip to the looney bin! 🤪 We want to keep you guys sane! I am sure most people who watch your channel enjoy the safe space you have created for us with your videos, giving us a respite from the day to day grind. There's no need for us all to be up in your personal space. BTW - Nice new beard look, Aaron!🧔♀
+Note to Aarron. We lived in Winnipeg and tree roots grew into and plugged our sewer line to the street. Roter roter to the rescue but the city wanted the roots because we had a tree and they had a tree in the boulevard and if it was theirs they would pay and if not we would,, Roter touter knew this and left a plastic bags with chewed up roots, it was theirs.
also thank you Aaron for showing the drill and auger - I tried reading my brochure but that didn't help but I learn better from someone showing me. Know I understand why my auger would stop over and over again, now I know it was user error and how to fix it.
Love your videos and have learned so much. Just want to share that there was a maple on and "island" grass strip in front of my house. The roots stretched out and got into the city sewer line and the line had to be replaced. In my town, the homeowner is responsible for any obstruction between the house and outlet. Luckily the utility company replaced the line since it was beyond my property.
Aaron, as someone who has worked 19 years with a local sewer dept, yes the roots can get in the line, if you are majorly concerned I'd inquire with your sewer dept.
Great video! RE: trees around water/wastewater infrastructure - check your city or county standards. In our area, you could plant small trees or shrubs, but larger trees had to be at least 10’ away from any pipes. FYI
The algorithms work in funny ways. Your Feb 18, 2018 q&a with baby Benjamin just popped up in my feed. That was a hoot with all your dream projects that eventually came to pass. And the beauty tips were a riot!
I love that your place is a family home and garden!!!! Keep it for you for your family! You don't need to do tours; you share so much already. your privacy is important! I love your videos and tours and I think that's just perfect - I am grateful that you have taught me so much!! Thank you!
Amen!! Your space is your space! We are BLESSED to get to share with you virtually! Love this channel! You ”give” generously of your lives and family! Love you guys! 🥰
Your fairy gardens inspired me sooooo much! I too made so many. I know if you did one I too would be back at it for sure! I might just go back and watch the old videos
You guys share so much. You do on air Garden Tours and that's perfect. You might do another on air tour of your parents garden. Your family is such a blessing and joy. Whatever you do is fine. You have been such an inspiration to me. I garden in North Texas zone 8a. Thanks for all you do.❤❤
Love your recaps. I love your t-shirts, I have a couple and wear them all the time. Can't wait to see the trees you have ordered. Love your channels and watch you everyday (except the days when you don't post). Thank you for everything you do. Have a blessed day.
Hi Laura, I totally agree about the Miracle Gro soil. I ran out of my usual soil but found a bag of Miracle Gro and ended up with slivers in my hands and fingers. It took days to get rid of them. Lesson learned!
Tour suggestion, organize a tour of your garden as a fundraiser for a non-profit or the assisted living facility that you plant and take flowers to. I'm sure people would be happy to see your beautiful garden and support a local organization and pay a significant price to do that.
First I so enjoy your videos! Thank you both! Next as an old gardener, part of what I love about gardening is the changes that occur in me, my preferences, and the plants! However, your husband has a point that I agree with looking back on my life, the amount of and time really impact what your interests are. For example, window boxes look so pretty on a house, but messy and time consuming to keep them looking like you want them to, kids are messy and require a lot of time, which are more intense but oh so much more worth it! Lol, spoken from a retired teacher and parent!❤️
I'm loving that Aaron adds the disclaimer: maybe you/we will change our minds later down the road. It is kinda too bad he feels like they will be judged at a later date. Maybe I am wrong. I say there is a season for everything and a person's right to change your mind. Nothing is set in stone. Just enjoy gardening.❤
Good morning from the NJ Shore Not only can Persian shield take the heat and sun for me it demands it! I’ve used it for many years in pots on my full sun patio. Although so colorful and happy I don’t care for the tropical vibe either.
Love your videos and look forward to them every morning. Always the first one I watch. This year I bought a gomphrena and a guara (so) from watching you plant them! Both doing great so far! Thanks!
Friends of ours ....son got Lyme disease from ticks ..here in Central CA high desert....and has lost so much weight and hardly ever wants to eat..thinking he has been battling it now for 14 years and they've taken him to every doctor imaginable
Aaron please check with council about tree roots. In our area we are responsible financially for any roots damaging pipes from trees in our yard. We are in Australia so may be different in USA but worth checking.
I know you love the Collettes. But they grow so fast and have the thorns. Have you considered using a thornless variety on those arches, and putting the Collettes on a much wider arch elsewhere on the property? No matter what you do, it's all wonderful! Can't wait to see your horses one day! I know you'll be over the moon! ❤
If you ever do another tour. I’d like to come. I want to take a picture of everything I love in your garden and have the pictures to go to my garden centers and actually see if I can grow them.
You generously share your garden space and your family on YTube and would never expect anything more than that. At the same time, I hope Bethany doesn't get asked to share videos of her private life. I feel there are boundaries crossed by some people that watch YTube videos. Not many, but one would be too many for me, unless it was my livelihood and it's what I signed up for. Thanks for listening.
NO TOURS!! Enough said! Love your channel and have learn so much from you and Aaron. One question, Where did you get the Zephirine Drouhin Rose @ the chicken coop? Been looking for a thornless and I think that Rose would be perfect.
A funny story you probably hear all the time. I wore my garden answer tee out to lunch last week. The person who took our order commented that she watched Garden Answer too. She was really excited to see my tee., so funny.
I wear mine all the time. I'm very proud to wear it. People at home Depot take special care of me when I wear it. Thanks😊
I wear my GA tee all the time, and when I wear it to a nursery, I often get asked questions from other customers who assume I’m staff 😂 It’s sweet
I accidentally wore mine to the garden center and was actually kind of embarrassed 😅 lol
I wore my hoodie to the county fair in midwest Iowa last fall, and a gal commented on how much she also loves garden answer. 😊
I so agree with not having tours. It’s like an invasion of your privacy. You guys do you!! ❤
Introverts unite! I couldn’t agree with you more on tours and sharing your space. You share it in the best way and I’m thankful for your videos. There is NO WAY I’d want people wandering through my space and the stress involved as you mentioned. ❤
A fellow introvert here. I feel the same. I’m not much for company.
I would LOVE a tour of your gardens. But I agree with previous comments. DON'T open your lovely home to tours. Let it remain your sanctuary. We are lucky enough that you share your space; gardens, home, family, etc.

I'm an introvert. I agree, you're own space is your sanctuary. You're doing it the best way, showing your place on your own terms.❤
Maybe do the fairy garden and display them at the garden center and do a silent auction for charity
Great idea!
This is a great idea.. we win and the local charity wins... look forward to seeing a new "project"

Lost gaura here in zone 5b/6a even protected with leaves.
No guara survive my Michigan winters at 5b. Oh how I wish!!!
I always enjoy Garden Answer - especially Sunday's Hightlights. Thank You!
Good morning all. Getting a nice drizzle rain last night and this morning. My feet are grateful they won’t have to be on shovel duty today. Expanding all my flower beds this year.
The shot of Laura in the wind & dust, after the camera got blown over, is literally the only time I've ever seen Laura exasperated. She's human!

I have the Cheddar and Russell crewneck. It’s such a great sweater!
Whoa, yes. Road trip!
Yes!! that is what I thought about Miracle Grow Soil.
It seems like they complain about their fountains but buy them anyway.
@@JamiePeterson-g6dtheir choice not yours!
Loved the editing in this video! It has a lot of personality of its own! Great job as always!
I always enjoy the Sunday recap. Lots of great questions are answered. Happy Sunday!
Bethany is such an amazing friend , your so lucky she is in your life.
Good morning! Always fun to watch!
We used to live on a farm and it was super fun to drive a bobcat!!! We had 2 of them and used them all the time!!
I am so happy to see you using so many geraniums. I love them!
Geraniums need deadheading. They are beautiful! You got lots of work ahead. Thankfully you have Bethany.
Great recap, i always enjoy these Sunday talks.😊
Love your videos and have learned so much. Just want to share that there was a maple on and "island" grass strip in front of my house. The roots stretched out and got into the city sewer line and the line had to be replaced. In my town, the homeowner is responsible for any obstruction between the house and outlet. Luckily the utility company replaced the line since it was beyond my property.
If only I was younger you so inspire creativity in the garden!!!
I so agree with you about texting being better because you can remember what was said.....yes!
Aaron, as someone who has worked 19 years with a local sewer dept, yes the roots can get in the line, if you are majorly concerned I'd inquire with your sewer dept.
Good morning all have a safe and blessed day ❤️
Great video! RE: trees around water/wastewater infrastructure - check your city or county standards. In our area, you could plant small trees or shrubs, but larger trees had to be at least 10’ away from any pipes. FYI
I have really enjoyed the miracle grow soil over the years. I also don’t wear gloves! But it’s great there are multiple options for everyone!
The algorithms work in funny ways. Your Feb 18, 2018 q&a with baby Benjamin just popped up in my feed. That was a hoot with all your dream projects that eventually came to pass. And the beauty tips were a riot!
Oh my goodness 😎; you were so cute when you said you already got the redbud!; love Arron’s way of mansplaning
I love that your place is a family home and garden!!!! Keep it for you for your family! You don't need to do tours; you share so much already. your privacy is important! I love your videos and tours and I think that's just perfect - I am grateful that you have taught me so much!! Thank you!
But please keep up the tours ....love seeing the beautiful flowers.
Agreed. ❤
@@vel230They are talking about physical tours. Video tours aren't a problem for them, idt.
Amen!! Your space is your space! We are BLESSED to get to share with you virtually! Love this channel! You ”give” generously of your lives and family! Love you guys! 🥰
I agree with what you said! She should let her in-person garden tours be personal, invite only.
Good video. You share it in the best way and I’m thankful for your videos.
Thanks for all you do.❤❤
Both her and her moms gardens are GOALS
Love your recaps. I love your t-shirts, I have a couple and wear them all the time. Can't wait to see the trees you have ordered. Love your channels and watch you everyday (except the days when you don't post). Thank you for everything you do. Have a blessed day.
I love guara plants. My favorite ❤❤
Hi Laura, I totally agree about the Miracle Gro soil. I ran out of my usual soil but found a bag of Miracle Gro and ended up with slivers in my hands and fingers. It took days to get rid of them. Lesson learned!
Good morning from Delaware Garden Answer friends.
Late on the day but greetings from Florida!
So thankful you have a knowledgeable horse person in your life.
My honey locust is beautiful but dirty. Always droppings and small branches during windy days.
Good morning from the NJ Shore
Not only can Persian shield take the heat and sun for me it demands it!
Thanks!
I planted a sweet patch of 3 guara in my flower bed last year and 1 of them came back! I was so excited! LOL. Usually they don't for me.
So thankful for all your information and wisdom!
I would love to see a tour including the previous owners to see some of their reactions and thoughts on all the changes over the years
Friends of ours ....son got Lyme disease from ticks ..here in Central CA high desert....and has lost so much weight and hardly ever wants to eat..thinking he has been battling it now for 14 years and they've taken him to every doctor imaginable
I love your coaster 😂
I love Guara!
I used my kids nap time TO practice. They slept better with sound ( especially music) than with silence.
