Two years after my initial video on the downfall of the first ever officially licensed Garfield restaurant(tm), the drama is still ongoing. Bizarre tweets, legal threats and callouts, and a whole lotta discussion about Garfield being celibate. This is the continuing saga of GarfieldEATS.

The box of sand thing wasn't GarfieldEats' fault; they DID mail Quinton the Garfield! UPS at some point swapped the package with a bag of sand being delivered to a children's daycare for their sandbox. Quinton was eventually able to get in touch with them, and the mixup was remedied. GarfieldEats did a LOT of crazy shit, but they mailed him that Garfield damnit!

back in 2022/23 i was in a personal discord with nathen mazri helping develop his revenge cartoon, nathfield. the whole process was incredibly uncomfortable and he asked for so much free art labour. on top of this, he was. how i would describe very vocally promiscuous about his celibacy? in a way where he would remind us regularly during meetings that he was celibate, but constantly alluding that the right individual could break him out of it, with emphasis on gender not being a factor. the discord eventually began to shutter when a member questioned him about racist posts on other accounts

Mixture of money to follow through on crazy claims and often the more cynical reason that the conspiracy theory promotes an outcome for them they want and are manipulating the people under them. I don't think the guy who created an elaborate rantsona of Garfield and himself is the latter, though.
I think part of it is that they have no one to reign them in. When you have that much money, especially from a young age, no one calls you out on your behavior or tells you when you're behaving in an inappropriate or concerning way. And you don't really face consequences for acting on your impulses. It completely detaches you from society. And when you have access to social media, that attention can create a feedback loop that encourages more outrageous behavior.
Obviously it's not all of them, but I think the complete lack of a support network that actually knows you, you can trust, and that will speak freely is a big factor.
A lot of the unhinged Nathfield stuff was fueled by the Garfield Eats Discord and a whole lot of bored kids who steered Nathendeeper into insanity. You could like, buy points from him to get ranks in the Discord? And he always asked kids for free work? It's a whole thing, and it was crazy.

I work fairly close to where Garfield Eats used to be. They've been replaced by a functional pizza place, and I was under the assumption that the owner switched from Garfield to the functional pizza place, but I have no leads or information.
